tGiF!!

We made thro another week of market turbulence and uncertainties!!
We will SURVIVE!! ….remember the Donna Summer song :-))
Have a good weekend folks!!!

I am currently reading…Angels Fall by Nora Roberts…a good read , peppered with witty dialogue, suspense, fantastic bedroll :-))…and I came across this joke, so thot I share it with you….

A game warden came across this woman in a boat, reading a book.
And asks her if she has a fishing license.
She says she’s not fishing, she’s reading a book.
Game warden says..”U got the equipment for fishing in there, so I m going to to hve to write u a citation”.
She says…”U do that, I’m going to hve to bring sexual molestation charges against you”.
“Well” the warden says with some outrage…”Lady, I never sexually molested you!”
And she says, “But u got the equipment for it”

tGiF!!! hve a roaring good weekend folks

There’s this Jaga Singh who was working for a multi-millionare as a
night guard. One day, while the millionaire was driving out to catch
an early morning flight to conclude a business deal, Jaga Singh ran
out from the guard house and stopped the millionaire’s car just right
in front of the gate.

He said ‘Sir..Sir.. are you going to board a plane?’ ‘Yes, why?’
asked the millionaire. ‘You had better cancel the trip. You see, last
night I dreamt about the plane going to crash.’

Curious over the early morning fright that Jaga Singh had given, the
multimillionaire decided to cancel his trip. ‘You better be damn right
for this is a million dollar deal.’

The following day, there were news reports that the plane which the
millionaire was supposed to take had indeed crash landed. ! ‘Thank God
I cancelled the trip,.’ the rich man said. Realising that what Jaga Singh
had said had come true, he called the Singh to see him.

When the guard was called that morning, the millionaire gave him his
salary and FIRED him.

Why?

tGiF!!! hve a good weekend folks

This is pretty neat, takes less than a minute. 1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat.(more than once but less than 10) 2. Multiply this number by 2 3. Add 5 4. Multiply it by 50 5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1758… If you haven’t, add 1757. 6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number. (ie How many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.) The next two numbers are YOUR AGE ! —— AMAZing!

tGiF!!!! hve a very moooo weekend

tale of 2 cows….

TRADITIONAL CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies and the economy grows.
You sell them and retire on the income.

AN AMERICAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one and force the other to produce the milk of four cows.
You are surprised when the cow drops dead.

A FRENCH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.

A JAPANESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and
produce twenty times the milk. You then create clever cow cartoon images
called ‘Cowkimon’ and market them World-Wide.

A GERMAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You re-engineer them so they live for 100 years,
eat once a month, and milk themselves.

A BRITISH CORPORATION
You have two cows.
Both are mad.

A CHINESE CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim full employment and high bovine productivity.
You have the newsman who reported on the numbers arrested.

A MALAYSIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. You signed a 40-year contract to supply milk at RM0.06 per litre.
Then midway through, you raised the price to RM0.60 or you cut the supply.
When the buyer agrees to the new price, you change your mind again and now want RM1.20.
The buyer decided you can keep the milk, who rather go look for milk that
comes from recycled cows or the cow urine instead. At the end your two cows retire together with the Prime Minister.

A SINGAPOREAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
Whenever prices of GST, ERP, PUB and kopi-si go up; one cow-peh and the other cow-bu!

Drummama/Drumpapa

Couple of years back, I saw a prog on TV, showcasing some of the activities that Korean ladies in their 50’s and 60’s do for their recreation. Some breakdance, some hiphop, some play soccer, some pounding away on large drums etc . I find the latter interesting. Was wondering if we in SHC could form such a group of drummers. The drums used are similar to those big drums used by the “bigheads” whn they go tomp cheng, tomp cheng, tomp tomp cheng..But of course those ladies play a differenct music score.

Playing such drums is good exercise. Arm muscles get toned, thereby keeping the ugly “wings” at bay..:-)
Also very good for destressing..just paste a pic of whatever is stressing u on the drum and u jus hit it hit it hit itwith your sticks..:-)))

Do we hve among us, a group who are interested in this drumming exercise?
Do we hve among us, someone who knows someone who can lead us in this drumming exercise?

just drumming my thots….:-))

tgif!!!….hve a happy weekend folks!!

3 men go into a motel. The man behind the desk said the room is $30, so each man paid $10 and went to the room.

A while later the man behind the desk realized that the room was only $25, so he sent the bellboy to the 3 guys’ room with $5.

On the way, the bellboy couldn’t figure out how to split the $5 evenly amongst the 3 men, so he gave each man $1 and kept the other $2 for himself.

This meant that the 3 men each paid $9 for the room, which is a total of $27, add the $2 that the bellboy kept = $29

What happen to the other $1 ???

:-)))

Saturday Nite Fever!! – 30 Aug 2008

Hi, anyone watched last nite’s American Idol? It was so interesting :-) And whn Donna Sommer came on to sing Let’s Dance..

I kept thinking one D&D per year is just no enough!!!…So let’s do a survey..(l copy cat the Malacca drivein:-)). How abt another D&D nite? Let’s say end Sep (6 mths away frm the Mar 08 D&D). This one to be casual. Everyone in jeans (pants, bermudas, shorts, skirts) anything JEANnie….with lots of silver accessories :-)))

A funky nite for the young at heart. Ribs, chicken and salad for food, to down with lots of beer and ice lemon tea!!!. On a Saturday nite pls. Tentative prog…Getting to know fellow members better and makan – 1 hr. Have some games, haha time – 1 hr. Dance Dance Dance – 3 hrs!!!!

Then fare thee well. If yes, where do we hold this Saturday nite FEVER?? think this is the main problem…getting a place!!! Oh btw, if this goes through, I will not b the EO :-))) but no problem to help/assist/support lah. EOs do the "dirty" work and do not enjoy that much, they worry more:-)).

Here again, I salute all EOs, the past ones, the present ones and the future ones!!! So folks..don’t be shy, speak your mind (I copy cat Terence :-))…Doable? Boleh jadi? Ker ee mah? Aa sai boh?

    Book Review: Mind over Menopause

A Harvard Medical School book, borrowed frm the Nat Library. The menopause transition is a unique experience for each woman. Some cruise through with few problems but to some, life can be difficult and extremely trying. This period of fluctuating hormones may cause hot flashes, nite sweats, mood swings, headaches, problems sleeping, tension, anxiety and the list goes on. The book offers techniques and advice to manage the symptoms of menopause and improve your long-term health. There’s a lot of focus on relaxation techniques….Modulate our breathing to reduce stress and induce calm….Quiet the mind, calm the body; quiet the body, calm the mind….. Humour replacement therapy (HRT) is recommended….the following quote from the book: A sense of humour can help you overlook the unattractive, tolerate the unpleasant, cope with the unexpected, and smile through the unbearable. I give this book 4 silver hairs…..(on a scale of 1-5 silver hairs where 1 is a ok lah and 5 is a must read).

    Colmar, 2-4 Nov 07 (Fri-Sun)

Hi all, yours truly is the organiser :-). I really really hope I do a good job :-))). Thanks to those of you who hve given me the "jia you". :-)) This is what I intend to do: Aug: first 2 wks…..look around for tours/packages to Colmar. 3rd wk ……….selection of travel agent, confirmation of tour cost etc. 4th wk………..post on website with all the confirmed details for members to confirm participation. 11 members hve so far either confirmed going or "chope" seats :-)). …anyway, the more the merrier, the more the "siower" :-))…hope to get same no. as the Batam trip. Those of you who know of good travel agents/conductors, special packages to Colmar etc etc, pls do let me know. Thanks. And btw, I hven’t been to Colmar.

    I could hve danced all nite-Part 2

Hi Terence think I should hve a "closure" to my posting…"I could hve danced all nite". appreciate it pls, if you cld post the following for me, thanks much… I refer to my posting in Apr.."I could hve danced all nite". Wow, the posting attracted quite a lot of comments. It also prompted several members to form small groups to go clubbing before the intended date 15 Jun :-))). They are the Nike people…just do it people!!! I joined one of the groups on the eve of Vesak, to Zouk. Suaku me did not know tht the action only begins at 11pm!! Anyway, it was exciting after having not gone for 3 decades!!! . By the way, the scene has not changed much…the drinks esp the non-alcholic ones were the same, the lightings etc. One thing was different though. That nite, I noted there were more young guys than young girls!!! During my time in the 70’s, there were more young girls than young guys :-((( Must be more female post war babies :-))) Anyway, after having gone to Zuok, I hve to accept the fact that I couldn’t dance all nite after all…no energy :-))) Since I hve gone and many members hve gone clubbing after my posting, I would like to close my posting for 15 Jun.

HOWEVER, if there are some members out there who are waiting patiently and looking forward to the 15 Jun nite out, then pls let me know so that I can arrange the outing to St James.
