A reflection

Must thank you again for "creating" THE SILVERHAIRSCLUB.

I’d joined SHC mainly because of my interest in cycling and making new friends.  For the 1st year, I’m a follower enjoying all the EOs who organised wonderful events. Kelong trips was my first experience in being an EO and I’m glad it was well received and most importantly, everyone was happy, crazy and behave like e are all in our younger days. Not to mention, the capable and enthusiatic co-EOs and the participation of all who signed up.

Basically, I’m a very shy & not so socialable person, never involve in drinks and music, but without SHC and you, I’d not have the confidence going on stage to sing & perform in the various events esp SIC and PromNite…….all the more even have the courage to face big groups in the many SHC gatherings & events.

Many members are warm and easy friendly. With the variety of activities, one can easily be involved and never experience any dull moment. I always believed that oneself must be sociable and make the full use or opportunity at every event, creating the fun and in each and every event.

With the interest from members, Janet & I would surely be encourage to organise another Kelong trip in 2012.

Salute to you!

Thanks & Regards

Tan Boon Liang

Back to Basics – Kelong@The Water Lodge, 1-2 May 2009

Hello fellow SHC member lets escape from the modern world and immerse ourself in tranquility, for a short fishing trip to The Water Lodge, a small and humble private kelong resort off a sleepy tiny island, Pulau Tunjuk. Located in the Riau Archipelago, between Pulau Batam and Pulau Bintan.

If you fancy a simple, basic and laid back getaway, without having the luxuries of a 5 star hotel, and escaping to a realm of total bliss and self rejuvenation, then The Water Lodge is the place for you.

And for fishing enthusiasts, bring along your fishing gear, reel or lines, here’s the place for your great fishing spot.
