Thinking aloud the future of SilverHairsClub

One year ago, a member confronted me, and asked what would happened to SilverHairsClub should something happened to me.  I felt offended at first, but Yeah hah, sounds like a very serious question.  Since then, I have been thinking.  I like to share my thoughts aloud.

  1. For the time being, I have put the different passwords of this website on a piece of paper.  Should anything happen to me, this piece of paper will be handed to someone whom I have designated.  The person is a SHC member.  I am surprised that SilverHairsClub.com has turned out to be very well read, with 75% readership in Singapore.  So, we should plan for it to run forever.
  2. I am also thinking of creating a corporate entity "SHC Corporate" which will own SilverHairsClub.com.  Discussions of SHC Corporate are on another thread.  SilverHairsClub will run as it is currently run, with no membership fee, the same taboos, age requirement and style.  With the corporate entity, hopefully, we dont have to debate the issue of succession, plus other issues of activities organised by the club.  We are still discussing, so it would be nice to hear from you.

Enough for now.  I look forward to hear from you.

Benny Kwok – Profile

I m Benny, 49. Introduce to SHC by my friend Sue.

Just an ordinary guy living next door, slim build and probably not eye-catching.

Love sports, like soccer and racket games such as badminton but as one mature in age, tend to focus more on less energetic games and go on track instead…jogging.

Feel free to write to me n comment. Look forward to get to know each one of u and hopefully in the days ahead develop a bond and friendship.

Cheers.

Have a great weekend.

An example of a response to requests from non-SHC individuals and external organisation?

From time to time, I do receive request by non-SHC individuals or external entities to link up with SilverHairsClub and its members.

Here is a good example and I like to share my response and comments with SHCians.

“Dear Mr Seah,

Foremost, I am very fortunate to have met some of the active silver collar members recently.
?
My name is Azza Dina and I am writing from NTUC Club, Membership Department (Active Ageing). My team have spoken to Mr Ronnie Lai and have met up with some of the SilverHairsClub members such as Captain Foo, recently at Orchid Country Club during their weekly bowling session. We were informed about the SilverHairsClub and we applaud your club members efforts in organising such lively events.
?
We are a brand new team who has been assigned to look after interest groups such as your SilverHairsClub members. As we do have on-going and future events catered for those who have reached 50 years and above, we are extending our invitations to all SilverHairsClub members to partake in any of our events and even to allow us to plan your activities if possible. This is to ease your member?s workload, restrictions limitations and hassle.
?
We are actually planning for a focus group in the near future to meet regularly and to brainstorm for activities for all to enjoy. Kindly allow us to assist and provide for SilverHairsClub.
?
Awaiting a favourable response from the SilverHairsClub!
?
Cheers’
