Web Publishing and Blogging, 23-11-2013 (Saturday) from 3pm

If you have a special skill or a passion to share, starting a web page or a blog is the way forward. Be it showing us how you cook your favourite dish or  “How to ..” in many of the problems facing the seniors in the digital divide.

Some use the web page/blog just as a diary of family events to share with their love ones and friends.

Come to this month’s ITIG gathering and we will show you how to start web publishing or starting your own personal blog.

A word of caution – a web site or a blog is not a “one-off” affair. The owner requires continuous updating and maintenance of the web site or blog to sustain readership and increase viewership.

For those who have specific questions on this discussion topic, please email me (hewlee@gmail.com) one week before the meeting date. I will try my best to answer them during the class.

    For those who are attending the class for the first time, please email me your IC number. This is required by the CC. Also, for those who really want to start blogging, and open an account, appreciate if you can bring your own laptop preferably with Internet access.

  20. Thank you Andrew, Judy, Bobby, Aaron,Lydia, Anne and Pearl for your support. You all are welcome to our ITIG meeting. Wow, only 3 days and we have reached a full house. This must be an interesting IT topic. If 10% of you (out of the 20) take up my challenge and show me a blog or web site you have “published”, I would say my time spent in the library in doing the research, to conduct this course FOC, has met the objective. To move beyond the first step, one must be opened and not to be too bothered or afraid to receive any negative feedback. After all, “To err is human”.
    As we have reached the class size of 20, I have closed the registration. However, a few more can still come if they don’t mind to sit on chairs only – without table space.

    I will not be able to attend this class, which I so badly wanted to attend to start my own food blog.
    My daughter needs help at her shop so…..
