Appointment of Robert Ong in the role of “New members Relations”

We have always faced difficulties getting new members to introduce themselves in the Club.  Either they are shy, or they find it difficult to write an introduction about themselves in our Club forum.  Finally, they either not do anything about it or nobody knows about them.

We have tried to get our senior members to to take up this role; but unfortunately for numerous reasons, few members like to take up this role.  Well, after a long time, we have identified one.

He is Robert Ong, whom many of you know has been active, especially with the Easterly gatherings.  He is a strong supporter of SHC, its members and the Club’s culture.  Robert has good relations, is tactful and is a very considerate person.  He has agreed to take up the role of managing “New members relations”.  In this role, Robert will assist new members with introducing themselves to fellow members in the Club.  He will be able to write a new Post to introduce new members in the Club.  After membership approval by Admin, new members can write directly to him with the introduction.  More details will be given.

Thank you Robert.  And we look forward to your new initiatives.

  1. Hi Robert

Very nice of you to take up this role to help new members.

This will certainly encourage them to go to you to write their introductions and for us to get to know them.

    Sweet.

  2. Hi Robert
Congratulations on you new post and thank you for your willingness to take up this position. New members are now in good hands.
    Nice.

  3. Hi Terence, Geraldine and Lily,
Thank you for the commendations and the well wish messages on the occasion of my assuming the role of initiating new members into SilverHairsClub.
Before the appointment, Terence and myself had collaborated on the matter by the exchange of views through emails and interviews.
My personal view is that SHC is run as a non-profit organisation and does not
impose subscription fees on members. Therefore it has its limitations. It does not have a fixed office and lacks supporting staff.
Terence is the founder and the chief executive of the club and he can provide direction and impetus. But he has limited resources. The club needs contribution from members to sustain its continuity and to remain viable and relevant.
The assistance given is strictly on a voluntary basis. The time and effort spent will not be rewarded.
With the above understanding I have decided to undertake the task.
    Robert Ong

  4. Congrats on your new post, Robert.

Good job done with the 2 new members this week. And one attends the same church as me too!

    Keep up the good work.

    :)
