A Potluck in the brewing, on Sat 27 October 2007

There is likely going to be a Potluck session coming up in October.  Likely to be Saturday, 27  October 2007.  The Event Organiser is currently surveying the place.  I suspect he is having a headache, thinking about how he can make this event fun and exciting to SilverHairsClub members.  No other information, except please keep this date in your diary, until the Event Organiser has come up with his plans.  Location will likely be Pasir Ris Park, near Pasir Ris MRT.

This date has been postponed.  The Event Organiser will make an announcement soon.

    Anyway, it’s potluck right? So everyone will come with something.

    It’s a matter of the right location and I think you’ve already spotted one or two nice spots, with bike rental nearby, toilet facilities, even an “amphi-theatre” kind of thing where we can have some sort of “entertainment”?

    Oops, have I said too much? Sorry Dennis. Only tryng to help. Hehe.

    Do you want me to try and find out if I can book the function room at East Vale Condo for that day, 27 Oct ’07? My in-laws are staying there and I can ask them to book it for our use and it’s free (just need to pay a refundable deposit of $50). Just opposite East Vale is Downtown East where we can also adjourn for food later etc. Let me know if you want me to do that and I’ll go ahead and book the place. Regards

    It’s very thoughtful of you to suggest East Vale Condo.

    It is unlikely we will use the place for now, but I am very keen to use it in the future. I shall get in touch with you later, when I am back to Spore.

    Meantime, we have to wait for the Event Organiser to release his plans. I hear he has gone for a Recce today. It’s sounds like some secret mission. Thank you.

    Yes, I am not laughing, but what I was wondering was how a little alert for everyone to keep the date in the diary has turned out to be a mysterious guess game.

    But we know that the person is a “he”. And we can fairly deduce that the person is retired, otherwise he won’t be able to go on a secret mission and recce the place today.

Phew!logged in at last.Thanks ADMINISTRATOR!Now I see this rectangle which i couldnt access earlier much to my chagrin!!Just to let the event co-ordinator of the Annual Games know that I have signed in for the SCRABBLE N BOWLING EVENTS FOR THAT DAY.First Timer for both events but raring to GO!Thick skin ah!

  34. I cannot resist adding something here, so I feel I must give a clue. This person loves food, likes meeting other SilverHairs, lives in Singapore, looks young, joined SHC in 2007 and 50% of his hair is silver.

    The real reason why I did not mention the Event Organiser name earlier was because he did not give us his approval to be EO and he wanted to recce the place first, to ensure suitability and convenience. He is neutral gender. Have fun.

    This is NOT a post yet. Moreover, in his capacity, he can always assign someone to be the EO for the event.

  45. Haiz, the Event Organiser is definitely not Terence. He didn’t join SHC in 2007. He started SHC.

    And Terence regularly starts a post when he thinks of having an event and asks for people to put their paws up if they want to organise it. So, this is normal and it doesn’t mean he is the organiser.

    The main suspect now is Dan, who has been throwing red herrings and purple rings. He has been most active in guessing, but giving most unlikely names like Ronald Wie (who as Gingko says is Allrounder, Always not Around, so how can he be the organiser), Patrick Yeo (he is already the organiser for Games Day, so Terence will give someone else a chance). And Dan seems to like to organise events, from cruise to badminton to dance…

    So Dan, is it you? Tell leh…

    Wrong lah. I haven’t a clue about this event. Am presently up to my neck involving in too many things.

    If I really can, I would have started my residential forum.

    Pot-luck or picnic is pretty good, we can include tele-match, captain ball, moon walk, cat walk etc, etc’
