Light Moments: Where is the reindeer?

Fairprice at NEX has an unusual Christmas display. It is a big animal rearing up on its hind legs and it is wearing a Santa cap and has some small Christmas decorations on its muscular, brown body. It also seems to be ‘pulling’ a cart of Cadbury products.

Is it Rudolf’s new pose? No. It is a HORSE!

No one stopped to look at the Christmas horse except me who was wondering what had happened to the reindeer? Sigh. 

Readers are free to speculate (seriously/creatively) on why the store/sponsor chose the horse and not the reindeer for its Christmas theme.  :)

  3. Hmm..Seok Cheng & HL, the reason u gave must b the right one lah, but is it a good money-saving idea? I feel the store/sponsors did not consider the effectiveness of their Christmas display when they chose a horse because the display fails (as far as I’m concern) miserably to evoke the Christmas spirit. In fact I felt uncomfortable looking at the horse with a red and white Santa cap.

    Now for a creative reason – a friend said the sponsors (Cadbury?) could not afford a big reindeer so they settled for the cheaper horse! lol!

  4. Saw a reindeer but without its body – two pieces of antlers sticking out of the top of a car from the sides and a big cherry red nose on the front of the bonnet.

    A cute idea celebrating the X’mas season. :)

  5. From the news (ST) about the horses early appearance in Chinatown and from the Goole picture (above the search bar), it looks like the horse has upstaged the reindeer! Sigh.
    “Oh where, oh where has the reindeer gone?
    Oh where, oh where can he be?
    With his antlers big and his nose so red,
    Oh where, oh where has Rudolph gone?”

    Those two ‘white’ spheres are not balls. They’re reindeer eggs! ………….just joking.
    Couldn’t remember what I did the last time to upload a picture, so recapping…

    This picture shows a very long (more than 1.5m) bunch of bananas. The Chinese call it ‘thousand-finger bananas’. First time I saw such a species.
