Lets start Forex Info sharing here.emoticon

CURRENCY TRADING PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

 1.  It’s Automated.  This makes it easy for your broker to run. They’ll be no confusion.
 2.  The program attempts to recognize LONG TERM trends. It’s not a day trading approach.  This will minimize transactional costs (you’re not "trading" in and out).
 3.  Every trade has a clear stop loss.  Most experienced traders will tell you, "It’s not where you get in, it’s where you get out".
4.  In the event of a strong trend, your stop will trail, preserving more of what you’ve gained.

Note: If you inspect a long term chart, I think you’ll discover that currencies tend to trend.  Why?  Because much of the basis for currency strength and weakness is interest rates (and interest rates tend to trend).  Witness: The dollar has been drop, drop, dropping for years!

If you have any Forex info to share,  post it HERE…

  1. “It’s Automated. This makes it easy for your broker to run”.

Haha, sure, automated & connected to the waiting plane, its engine revving and ready to take off. But not so soon. The carnival has only begun and yr broker is in the middle of the danz……he wont run.

While the US economy is giving me the jitters, China, India, Dubai, Qatar, even the Latin Americas are doing well enough.

So while even the blind can see that the USD will continue to slump – a good opportunity to short it – the qn to me is, will the musical chair be played out such as China displacing the US as the global economic ichiban? Will she? Does she desire to?

Civilsation began with Mesopotamia, then the conquerors came thru 1 by 1…..the Ottomans, the Romans, the British, then the luckless Adolf Hitler tried, now the US leads the world but for how long more?

And will, in the final finality, Singapore call the shots ? Dont rule that out when globalisation is in full throttle……….so bet on SGD now?

  2. Tim Liu great for your forsight. your bet on SGD is with which major or you think some other exortic currency that gives you the best returns(RMB).

  3. Yes, Dennis, RMB (not its poorer cousin RM who is destined to remain poor for a while longer)and also the Euro.

Quixotically, i am also looking at the roubles…….not quoted freely yet but just keep looking at it. Heeee, probably bcos it comes with the high kicking prussian beauties……….

  4. Tim, for curiosity are u into FX trading. Given your knowledge it makes great sense that we can see how to capitalised on opportunities around currency movements.

Any possible venture in this area. KT may be another possible commrade to loop in.

  5. Hi Dennis,

Met you at the last meeting at Hans. Glad you are starting this thread and would like to learn about your forex experience. Email me at “boffcourse@yahoo.com”.

    Cheers,

  6. I am one of the FX1 student. Unfortunately their strategy does not suit me and its quite an investment. Need to write-off unless they hv plans to support their students and hand hold their strategy.

I am now looking at automated forex trading i.e machine to machine.

  7. Hi Dennis,

I am ready to give auto trading a go. But, I dont think I will look at it every day. Maybe once every two weeks; whether for equities or forex. Do you have an amount to start with?

    Terence

  8. Terence, its great to have your support. We are still working on the details. At this moments, it will be good to have some feedback from all interested members like:
    1) RISK amount they are prepare to take
    2) What level of education expected
    3) If a sub-committee is form can they be involved.
    4) Any other feedbacks

  9. “Auto trading” should come with a good system, is there anyone attended the course or using “T3B SYSTEMS ” before? Is it really good?

You see this all the time in newspapers etc, telling you how they “made” so much money in a short span of time, It costs S$3k+ for a course and S$500 annual fee for the data feeds and require us to open an account with POEMS.

I wonder how the mechanics of what they teach works?

  10. Raymond,
From my understanding they are basically using Metastock functionality to trade.
In the course they will give you some form of indicator or explorer to scan for trade.

I can also provide enhanced EOD Datafeed for only $240 per year. Enhanced means that during the day, the daily price can also be updated (Intra-day update).

At the present moment, SGX does not allow Auto-trade. Only FOREX is auto tradable and its through foriegn Market Maker. We are trying to see any foriegn Market Maker here in Singapore can provide such facility.

Any SHCian with experience in T3B SYSTEMS care to share.

  11. Heh heh, the only T3 I know of is the T3 pimple gel. There is the purple one for first outbreak and the pink one for gone case already lah.

I shop for my fresh produce at Bt Batok wet market. So anything further than that is Foreign Market.

With ditsy people like me making frivolous comments here, is it any wonder KT has decided to disappear from the forum. Even my teasing him about whining at the SPCA did not draw him out.

Enough said, I better get outta this thread before I get booted right up to Bali hilltop and miss my bouncy camel ride!

  13. Hi Dennis Har/Joy,

I went to a pre-view on T3B Systems but not the full course. The course fee is S$3k+ (includes Metastock @ S$800). EOD Datafeed is S$240/yr (per country) on top of the course fee. It is a 2 day course, Sat.and Sun.(9-5)and have an intake of 100 pax per class(conducted monthly) at York Hotel.

Like you said, the course will give you some form of indicator or explorer to scan for trade.

The staff from Phillips Capital (POEMS) will come to open accounts for the participants. Apparently, they are the only one with CFD’s (Contract for Difference) for you to short the market (this enables one to make money in a down market as well).

One is encouraged to put in their positions at night (not affected by price fluctuations during the day) and change their pricing as many times as one likes in the course of the night. One is discouraged from looking at prices during trading hours.
For any open position, a stop loss is a definite must.

On completion of the course, help is given to those who have difficulty logging in (the office is open during the evenings on weekdays). Apparently, they have participants who are Chinese educated and have difficulty operating the system.

For one to succeed, one must be very discipline and adhere to rules learned in the course. This system works best for an entirely new beginner with no knowledge on share trading. Those who have knowledge on trading have too many bad habits.

This is just my 2 cents worth. Joy, though you only know that T3 as a pimple gel you are excused, afterall, you are very good at what you know best.

  14. Dear Lina, hee hee. Other than pimple gel, now I also know T3 is Terminal 3. My knowledge is increasing by leaps and bounds day by day.

Wow, $3,000 a student for 100 students is $300,000 a weekend. In four weeks, the trainer makes $1.2 million! Who needs to trade when he makes more from teaching? (Well, ditsy me is not too bad at Math huh?)

  15. Lina Ng, Comments #13 “One is encouraged to put in their positions at night (not affected by price fluctuations during the day) and change their pricing as many times as one likes in the course of the night.”

Lina the statement above does not make any sense to me. Why do one need to change prices only at night… Stock(CFD) or Forex.

Stop Loss order is a protection order and is usually apply in Forex because of HIGH leverage i.e 1:100 Example for a contract value of US$100,000 one is only using US$1,000 as a Margin Deposit. But the market movement is based on the Full contract value of $100,000. Don’t be mislead that you are only RISKING US$1,000

My suggestion is find out more before you take any calculated RISK.

    MyConcern,
    DennisHar

  16. DennisH, timely that you raised the red flag and cautioned abt the trading being in margin form. I didnt know that on oct 19, 1987. Had myself buried for almost 2 decades, struggling to get up & out but actually got sucked in deeper & deeper. Bo kum guaan means bau si…….

Give it to Lim WM for his acumen & foresight, leaving SES to set up shop and putting together a forward looking team. But forex or not, it’s no less a gamble so no training/classroom learning ensures success till you hv lived thru the burn & still can return.

  17. Hi Dennis Har,

Here I am talking about Singapore Stock Trading under the T3B System.

The System encourages one to put in their sale and purchase orders at night, when the share market is closed. The advantage is that our orders will be at the front of the queue. More important is that we can make better decisions as regards to placing our orders (not affected by prices flashing across the screen) and not act on impulse.

For your info, I do not follow this System and do not trade in Forex.

  18. “…to put in the sale and purchase orders at night, when the share market is closed. The advantage is that our orders will be at the front of the queue.”

Lina, you got to be careful here.

Morning comes and standing right in the front of the queue may not be the prince charming you adore but the diabolical tim liu grinning in his mouthful of yellow teeth, waiting to bite……..

  19. Lina, smart of you to say not in Forex. But I am in most form of speculation. I see it as once’s personality and interest. I am in other business also for its also a RISK taking venture. So I decided to take speculation as another form of Business.

Forex can be more complex because its a Over The Counter Market(OTC) as against Stocks(Exchange Traded) but not CFD. It can be a lower speculative instrument because of MICRO account. Trading at US10 cents per pip(Micro). Types of Forex Accounts: Professional, Standard(US$100,000), Mini(US$10,000), Micro(US$1,000 Not commonly available). Hope I can through some light.

    DennisH

  20. Hi Tim,

I am not waiting for no prince charming Tim, but I am waiting for you! How clever of you to guess.

Btw, when are you going on your holiday? Your trip confirmed or not? We going same time?

  21. No hear from tour agents so no know…..

Picture this some years down the road.

No one is workinmg hard to make products – what for? Long hours, small monetary rewards.

Open yr eyes and see the so many opportunities out there in various forms of easy gambling with huge returns to the winner…..with my knowledge gained thru expensive class learnings, and A-distinction exam results, I must be a winner……..

So, the padi fields are abandoned. Fowls, cows, pigs return to the wild since farmers are not feeding them, busy calling out “picture picture” in casinos. Factories are buzzing with activity as workers gamble the simple odd-even. The faces printed on currencies cant stop smiling as their dollars keep rising……….

Happiness unto eternity. Love this world.
