For info, here is a full description of No. 18 Bali Lane –

1. The place is equipped with wireless LAN and wired network. However, we do not provide PCs nor notebooks here. This is because the venue is designed for stock trading where traders generally bring their own equipment.

2. The cost depends on the number of people and the duration needed. We can provide two cost proposals, for your selection. For small group, we offer $30 for half day and $45 for full day. (Minimal 5 people). For larger group, we can offer a fixed price. The cost is $450 per half day and $850 per full day, with use of the internet. There is a 42" LCD TV for the projection of powerpoint for the trainer. The maximum number of people is 20 in the room.

3. Do give us one week notice if possible, so that we can check the booking and reserve for you in advance. But do contact us anyway if you have urgent need, and we will be happy to accomodate.

The abv info was given by Mr Max Ee Khong Kie of Scorebot Pte Ltd which owns tis plc.

  1. Yew Kwong,

    Thanks to all the volunteers.

I am interested. I could make it for the 1st lesson however for lessons 2 and 3 – I will be out of town. Any possibilty of this course to be repeated at a later date?

  2. Hi Dennis

Tks 4 e offer. We shall find time n sit 2gether 2 discuss in details 4 future workshops 2 be done nx yr. Will oso fix a date 2 view e plc.

  3. Hi Yew Kwong,

I am interested in learning how to use Powerpoint. However, with due respect, the venue @ Henderson CC. would require me to spend much time in travelling. Can you please start the class @ the venue mentioned by Dennishar @ 18 Bali Lane, Bugis. The location is ideal and more centralised.

    Much appreciated

    Bernie

  4. Hi Bernie,
I am not sure what other facilities dat Bali Lane had bside d internet access but I am definitely sure dat Henderson CC got ample PCs (1 to 1pc)2 every course members for hands-on session as I personall viewed tis venue b4.

If Bali Lane dun hv d equipt req’d for hands-on, r u still keen 2 attend d course??? Unless of cos, every course members bring along their own laptop lor..

Software learning can nvr be perfect without hands-on.

There r some volunteers who ar willing to travel quite fair bit distance so as to assist all course members to fully ustnd these topic well. So u c, dist travellg can nvr a issue if 1 is keen to learn.

  5. Hi Yew Kwong,

I am definitely interested. I noticed all the 3lessons are on Sat. morning – 1st lesson 3rd Nov. I am ok but not sure abt. 10th Nov & 17th Nov. – Anyway I will try to make it. When must I made the payment & to who ??

    Tks & rgds
    Agnes

  6. Hi guys

Henderson CC may b far but if distance is e main consideration 2 ur signing up, then NTUC LearningHub at Intl Plaza is e rite plc.

We do hv oth alternatives but at e moment we hv no plan 2 open them up now. Wat r they? Examples, home learning (1 to 1) at $70 per 3 lessons, lessons in e evening, oth venues where we can keep e cost 2 min., etc.

If U hv internet access n can host 3 to 4 persons at ur plc on a Sat, we can come n do it there. Howevr participants hv 2 bring their own eqpt if hands on is reqd. No cost incur. We wld oso prefer U 2 charge e participating members a token fee.

What r available at Henderson CC? 16 nos brand new Pentium 4 PCs installed wif windows xp n office 2007.

  7. All events need to have a start.
As we go along, the OE will do his best to haunt for a better location, most suitable time and the most preferable topics. (all suggestion for them are wellcome)

As YK suggested in the home. I can hold it for 2 to 4 participants at one time. But I live in Ang Mo Kio, and still out of the way for someone.
So the question never ends. – inconvenient location – unsuitble time and so on and so on….

  8. I hv the privilege of knowing YK and KW. They’re earnest guys doing their level best to put computer novices thru some basics. They give their time and earn nothing except maybe the satisfaction of seeing folks getting a kick out of computer learning instead of shooting down monsters playing computer games.

To start out, they’ll hv to find a location which is inexpensive for learners to pay and with the requisite computers/equipment for hands-on learning which is a must to impart knowledge of this kind.

Thus, it’s not too much an asking if learners were to bear some “inconveniences” themselves.

See, KW got so haunted that he’s now totally possessed in trying to hunt for a better location.

Heee, dont make him add on to the 1/6 leh.

  9. Hi Yew Kwong / Dolly,

Tks for your suggestions and information. I was concerned about saving travelling time as I treasure time as a precious commodity to be used wisely and carefully.

Kwong Wah, you have my heartfelt gratitude and support for volunteering time and effort to teach IT software usage.

I will this matter more careful thought and consideration.

    Bernie

  10. Hi Yew Kwong,

Let me know when u r free to see the setup. I will see how to co-ordinate some activities at the Traders Hub/Gathering place with you (If justify will see how to station some PC).
