What A Wonderful World – March 1 Sat (1 – 5 pm)

Have we taken the time to appreciate the life given to us? As Louis Armstrong sangs ‘I see trees of green…red roses too, I see em bloom…for me and for you, And I think of myself..what a wonderful world’, and Tom Jones would sings ‘Every time I hear a newborn baby cry, Or touch a leaf, or see the sky, Than I know why, I believe’.

Come join us for a hilarious time of karaoke, singalong and fellowship!

  1. Hi Patricia,
Have a blessed New Year, good to see you again.
Those interested I will be teaching chess and mahjong. I will be using cards to teach mahjong. This lounge can take up to 40 pax and if anyone have any hobbies to share with fellow members, please take this opportunity to do so.
    Dan

  2. Dan,

Though I dread the distance from my house to Kolam Ayer CC, fortunately I like the facilities there. Toilet nearby and tea reception tables also at our door step. Room very spacious for singing and dancing too – so you’ve bought me over.

I’ll bring some wu tao gou (steamed yam cake) – been experimenting many times already so people just pray that it’s good!

    See you guys, Cheers!

    Susan

We missed both of you greatly and so glad that you are coming. We are going to have a bash!

  7. Hi Freda, i am certain the KACC does have this song, ??, or friends.

Here is a link on You Tube. There are several versions, but this one shows the lyrics in Chinese as well as romanised pinyin. The Chinese characters are in traditional fonts though. For those who do not read Chinese, appreciate the English translations.

  9. Hi Ronald,
We look forward to catching up with you especially since you were out of action for a while.
Gentle reminder, we have a date this Saturday from 1.00-5.00pm at Kolam Ayer CC.
Terence/Hew Lee/Dolly, come and see for yourselves this venue which can pack up to 40 pax. Getting 20 pax here would only cost $3.00 per person and we get to adjourn for kok after the lesson proper.
Jassmine and those interested, I repeat my offer to teach free of charge chess, mahjong (using cards) and Big Two card game this Saturday at this venue.

    1. Hi Daniel,
I see you are a great fan of Teresa Teng. We all are her fans too, being around the same age group.

One day, I hope we can gather all our singers together and sing her songs dedicated in her memory. You can help us then.

By the way, this singer has made a good start.

      Terence Seah

  11. Thanks Daniel for sharing. She sang like Teresa Teng and just as beaitiful and humorous but wat her name? I am reminded of a boy who sang just like Teresa in a singing contest but dun know how to upload here.
Terence, come and join us at Kolam? I am still rehearsing Teresa’s song ‘The moon represent my heart’.
    Dan

  12. Hi..Terence and DanH, yes I like Teresa’s songs very much. She sang both joyful and sorrowful songs very well. Perhaps some lyrics strike a chord with our experiences in our younger days, especially those with a tinge of despair and sadness. Teresa passed on May 28, 1995. Almost 20 years now.

Terence, I share your idea of having one day to sing ONLY Teresa’s songs. MAY is a good month, in memory of this legendary songstress. We shall start gathering resources now.

DanH, you were doing fine with that “moon” song. the last time at K Ayer. Should be better now.

“Ladies and gentleman…….and now Dan Huang singing this beautiful song, The Moon Represents My Heart”. Wait 3 more days lah.

  13. Hi Dan,
Sorry to inform I cant join you all singing on 1/3/14.
Thanks for organizing & enjoy yourself !

    Hi Terence & Daniel,
Yes, I like the idea of having one day to sing ONLY Teresa’s songs. I love her songs too, looking forward to this event.

    Cheers,
    Patricia

  14. Hi dan n daniel. YES.. I love teresa teng’s songs too. Perhaps we can start off this saturday with her songs. I hv a KCD of teresa collections n we can sing. I am happy to entertain u guys with her songs. And also do an impromptu short skit if can find someone keen to do it with me. I will be there at 1pm on sat.

  15. Hi Lydia, good that you can join us for tomolo. Let’s try out as many of the songs of Teresa Teng. For those with interest in drama acting Lydia would be glad to put up an impromptu act with you.
    Dan

  16. Hi Dan – Sorry have a late morning errand to run, can’t make it tomorrow.

Hi Daniel – Thanks, I have Google the Chinese lyrics of Pengyou – shall memorise it and sing with you guys some days.

    Cheers

  17. Hi Freda, no worry, see you at the next session.
Still not sure how to find your way?
At Lavender MRT, walk towards Bus Stop @Kallang Road, Lavender Station. Take bus 107, 61 and 5 stops alight at Geylang Bahru, Blk 68, walk 170.84m and presto you have arrived!
    Dan

  18. Thank you Dan Huang, for an afternoon of togetherness. Thank you for the cozy place to get away from the heat and the haze. Of course the song and dance were entertainments we longed for. The only regret is that it ended too soon.
The icing on the cake, literally, is the food provided by some of the participants. A BIG THANK YOU goes to Susan Tan. who made me drop the song book and went for her food. The mee hoon and yam cake — hmmmm…simply magnificient. You should have a stall in Smith Street.

Anxiously awaiting the next meeting, same place same time same food.
