System update to Version 3.9.1 this Sat 5 Jul 2014

Hi everybody,

We are going to update our SHC system to a higher revision level Version 3.9.1.

The date for this operation will be Sat 5 Jul 2014 from 0100 hours.  This will take a few hours, and we should back by Sat 8am.  Our guys in India will handle the change and cross-over.  What the changes are, I am not sure of the details.  But, I am told it will not be major.

** We attempted a version update on 5th July; but finally decided to abort the update and revert to the earlier version for simplicity and convenience reasons.

  1. Please note our system will undergo an upgrade tonight from Sat 5 July, 0100 hrs. You will not be able to access the system until update is completed. Our IT guys from India will do a good job, so I am hoping for no screw ups.

    1. Last night, our IT guys did an update of our Club blog software. However, the update required many changes to the other related applications used in SilverHairsClub.com. This was too time consuming, and thus the update was aborted. We had since reverted to the version before.

      No changes then. We are not likely to make any version changes in the near future, unless required by our hosting company.

  2. Hi Folks,.

    This weekend, our IT guys in India will attempt an update of the SHC software. We failed the last time. We will start on Sat 26 July 0100 hrs and will likely finish by Sun 27 July 0600 hrs.

    In case, we are not successful, we shall revert with a backup taken on Fri night.

    Our WordPress operating system has been upgraded to the latest version 3.9.1. I understand there are some good new features especially writng and editing Post,

    1. SilverHairsClub News is now linked to Whatsapp. Members who have registered their mobile telephone number with the Club will be included in the Club’s Whatsapp News update. Only members will be able to access this feature.

      I am not sure what this will look like, but from time to time, you will be able to read the Club’s activities on Whatsapp.
