  1. Here’s something you can do for members of the Club. I know that some of you have many restaurant vouchers which you are not able to use. And, of course, you may not know who to give it to. Instead of letting them expire, why not, you give them to the Club.

We are thinking of having some contests in our Club every month. For example, answer a question. And, if you answer the question right, we give you a restaurant voucher. Likely, the winner will be selected on a first respond, first right basis. We shall send the voucher to you via mail and we will give recognition to the member who offered the restaurant voucher.

We shall try this project for a few months, and see how it goes. My email address is terences@SilverHairsClub.com. So, look behind your calendar, your table top or your wallet/purse.

  2. Hi Terence

Tks for the resurrection of ‘Flea Market’ again. I’ve loads of things in my storeroom (supposed to be a bomb shelter.. haha) which I’ll put up for cheap sale later. Needs time to declutter this bomb shelter… may take a long time amidst all my ECAs though :-)

I have loads of story books … hundreds of them …. and I just can’t bear to get rid of them. I’m thinking of setting up a second-hand book service for those who are interested in loaning these books for their grandkids etc. You pay a certain sum, say $3-4 for a book (which looks as good as new), get to reading it for a month, and subsequently to return to me with a return of 50% paid.

Pl contact me via hp apps or email if anyone is interested in my new ‘venture’.

    Warmest regards…..

  3. Hi fellas

  7. Well done, Yew Kwong. You are probably the first person to add pictures into the comment. I was never too sure how to do so. Now that you can do so, please guide us through how to add pictures to comments. I am sure many of us would like to know how to.

  9. Free service for you. If you have something to sell and wish to reach more people, I can help you to place your items in http://www.ebay.com with your name, contact, product description with photo and price and terms of payment. I had done this previously for some members. You can choose between selling your wares at one price or under bidding. Simple, just send me the basic info and the rest I will take care. Contact will be between you and potential buyers.

  10. Hi YK, long time no see, how are you? Thanks for your information, it is valuable!

Hi Karen, according to what YK said, you are not log into the SHC website (point 1), but to a website called imageshack.com. Then preform point 2 to point 5 to got a link, After that, you log in to the SHC site, and do your post/comment, then paste the link wherever you want in your post/comment. The photo will appear instead of the link when your post/comment is uploaded to the SHC website.

    YK, am I right?

  11. Hi, YK, it is really a long time. Will contact you (with e-mail) in the near future see if we (me, you or with some other friends) can find time to have a meet and chat

About stuff, as I am not interest to buy (will only buy when need, then used them until they are obsolete). There are not much stuff for me to dispose. But recently, I have two stuffs want to be disposed very much but cannot. One is an i-Pad min given by my elder son, one is a ?? 3G smart phone from my younger son. They consider me is very out-of-date for the modern IT, so give these two stuffs and forced me to learn.

I can still use the i-Pad to do something, but really don’t want to change my 2G normal handphone to the smart phone. So now the ?? still don’t have a SIM card in it. I wonder is there really a need to use the smartphone. But after my younger son (also some of my friends) asked me many times when will I use it, I think I have to surrender in the near future, what to do?!!

Sorry to command other things on this post, will stop now.

  12. Andrew

U will need to change your Sim card to a 3G one. If u are using postpaid u can ask n get it free of charge. If pre paid type u just buy another prepaid Sim card of the shelf. A smartphone makes a world of difference.

Redmi is quite advanced. Like me, I’m using a lower end Samsung Ace 3 with.duo Sim card which serves all my needs.

  14. Hi Grabriella
My daughter and I have quite a number of books too – feel “painful” to get rid off, but no choice – running out of storage space in the house. Would lilke to pass them to you for your “new venture” once you have organised it. My daughter is also looking for a book by Barbara Taylor Bradford entitled “Hold The Dream”. Wonder if you have it in your collection. BTW, how to email you – no email address provided. You can email me at cpen.sit@gmail.com.

    Regards…………………..Caroline

  15. Hi Caroline Sit
Tks for your offer but I was not serious when I spoke about my ‘new venture’… just thinking out loud only. Sori that I do not have the book mentioned.

    Warm regards,
    Gabriella

  16. We are now able to add a picture to our comments. This should make it more easy for members to show what they have for sale in the fleamart.

This feature also allows you to show group pictures of your travel holidays.

When u write a comment, the image feature will sppear. Give it a go.

  17. Oops, I forgot to “Upload image”. Shall try again.
Let’s see if the picture appears.

And, if you find the picture objectional, you may block it. But, you better have a good reason.
Hope this adds to the fun.

  18. Hi Jassmine,
We have set the picture size in comments to be this size. No worries, the balls are just about right.

And for all members, I encourage you to put up your fleamart pictures now, so that you can sell them by the time we have our fleamart at CSC on Sat 6 Sept. Dont wait until that day. I am searching for my used condoms since I have some stocks left from the last fleamart.
