- Date : Saturday, 23 August 2014
- Time : 1 pm
- Meeting Place : Bishan MRT Station (meet around station facing Bishan Road, landmark – Citibank)
Getting There :
- MRT North-south Line, Circle Line
- Buses – 13, 50, 52, 54, 55, 58, 88, 128, 156, 55B. These buses stop in front of Bishan MRT but you can also take any of the buses ending at Bishan Bus Terminus and walk through Junction 8 Shopping Centre.
EOs : Jeffrey Lim and Azhari Cuttilan
The walk : The walk starts as a ‘walk in the park’ literally, through Bishan Park. From there the terrain gets more rugged and natural. Much of the walk will be through the forested central catchment area, passing the tree top walk and on to the Bukit Timah forest reserve.
The total length will be approximately 15 km. At a fairly brisk pace we should finish the walk by 5.30 pm at the Bukit Timah Hill visitor centre. From there we can adjourn to Beauty World Centre for dinner or across the road at the eateries along Cheong Chin Nam Road.
Note : bring enough water as there are no pit stops along the way except for the ranger station at the tree top walk.

Hi Jeff/Azhari
I’ve been waiting for you to lead us to another X-treme walk/trek in the woods with rugged terrains. However, this round the timing is not right because I’ll be travelling in 2 days time and will be back end of Aug.
Recce is a must for this kind of terrain, I really appreciate both your efforts.
Cheers!
Veronique
I been through this walk before including up /down bukit timah hill Need to be fit with strong pair of legs to walk 3-4hours No small feat
#Azhari – Thanks for your comment. That’s how long I’ve not been to Junction 8
#Veronique – Sorry, you can’t join us. Look forward to —–X-treme 2015.
Hi Jeffrey & Azhari
Understand that the walk does not involve (a) crossing the Tree Top suspension bridge and (b) up & down Bukit Timah Hill, then I will go for it.
Best regards
Janis
Here is my feed back to some of the comments.
We will NOT be going up & down Bukit Timah Hill. The end point is the Visitor Center at the foot of the Hill.
However as Jeffry stated we will be walking thro’ tarrain which has up & down slopes. Not many steps.
In case most of you find the walk from Bishan MRT to the Bishan-AMK park too boring or hot, we can take a bus directly to the Forest Area. Lets decice on this when we gather at the starting point.
We will be walking pass a ‘waterfall’. If we are lucky we may be able to see it in its full spleandour (see pix).[image=Waterfall-2.jpg]
Hi Jeffrey & Azhari,
The walk is interesting. Like it. However I don’t have enough stamina to complete the route.
Thanks for organising.
Regards, Alice Seah
Hi Jeffrey and Azhari
Sori but I’m having cold feet now. If Alice Seah does not have the stamina to complete the route, I will be lagi worse. Will have to give it a miss.
Tks for organising ~ enjoy and have fun.
Cheerio
Hi EOs,
Please register my participation. Tkn You
Tony
Dear All,
We do understand that some of you might find this route longer than our normal monthly walk.
Last month, we did the MacRitchie loop with a combination of various routes, we walked approx 12 to 12.5km that included the Treetop, all participants completed it and I think only 1 or 2 needed a breather, the rest was alright. In fact, going up/down the Treetop walk is no mere feat esp the coming down…. many, many steps. ;(
The coming trail is in fact one of the shortest route since we started the Annual X-treme two years ago. The terrain is not as tedious as the Treetop stretch. :D
Note:
If you are keen to participate, kindly sign up latest by tomorrow. Else, we might cancel this walk!
Decision will be made this Friday, 22August14.
Thanks,
ChristinA Chan
