Let’s celebrate Singapore’s National Day

national day1 Today is Singapore’s National Day. Let’s all wish Singapore, fellow Singporeans and PRs many good years ahead.  As all of us are part of the Baby Boomers group, each year, each month and each day means a lot to us.

Take this opportunity to wish one another, your fellow friends and family members, an exciting year ahead of this year’s Singapore National Day.

  1. To those who are out at the Marina Bay area today, or to those who are at home watching the parade, or to those who miss today as you are travelling, a Happy and enjoyable National Day;.

  2. Yay, Happy National Day Folks. Never take our country for granted. If not for our good leadership we will not be jet-hopping, globe-trotting like our SHC leader! Why, some SHC friends are enjoying their holiday trips back to back. Some also bought a condo to rent out. Line dancing, karaoke, makan makan every few weeks. Time to count our blessings. Thank you.

  3. The NDP show was so grand for a small country with many constraints, it brought so much pride to its citizens. A caring govt looking into issues affecting both the young, the aged and the in-between, we, the people of Singapore, truly appreciate being Singaporean. Salute and a bouquet to our HOMELAND!

  4. Do we really need to spend so much every year holding ndp From I see only 3 in 10 Singaporean watch whether live or TV
No one will follow every year
Maybe one in 2 year can save tons of taxpayers money Also why bring in FTs to represent in sports, so what if they win, I am not proud for singapore

  5. My family & I watch the National Day Parade on TV every year because we can’t get tickets to watch it at the holding venue.

In the 1970s, we invited our neighbours to watch the parade together with us as they had no TV. We were very proud to see the representatives of various military & civilian groups marching past on our small black & white TV.
I’d told our young son that one day he too could have the privilege of representing his NS unit & be in the parade.
    Yes he did !
Our extended family members including grandma, grand auntie & grand uncle tried to see where he was among the young servicemen in similar uniforms.
His cousins who look up to him as a big brother, cheered the loudest : )

This year, we taught our grandchildren to stand on attention when the pledge was said & when the National Anthem was played.
They are still too young to understand the significance but we believe in teaching our young to live according to our pledge, love our country & be proud of our homeland.
    They are our country’s future : )

    Majulah Singapura !
