  1. Hi, I wish I can go to meet more friends but I need to work at that hours. Appreciate that someone can organize the chat after working hour. I am a new member. I am not sure is there any welcome chat for new members ? You may say that we are old enough to find friends ourselves but this is not true. We are still very shy even we are over 45 years.. Do you agree ? From Eric

  2. Hi everyone
Charles Cher, a professional musician will be joining our coffee chat on 9 Sep. He will be singing and playing the uke ~ we may have a mini uke jamming session if there are more players interested in joining in.

Uke players ~do come and join in the fun….

    Cheers……

  3. Hi Eric

Welcome to the SHC family… I’m sure you’ll make many friends in this club. We’re like one BIG family with Terence Seah as the Founder and also the ‘Red Indian Chief’ of this family :-) I’m sure he can help you blend into the club.

There are many activities in this club and they’re all listed in this website. The coffee chat is held in the afternoon as it caters more for the semi-retired and retired members of the club. Our age ranges from 45 – 70+ .. hence, if you’re unable to join in the coffee chat, you may wish to join the other activities which are arranged outside office hours.

Examples of activities conducted after office hours are:
    – the monthly meeting/flea market on 6 Sep (Sat)
    – the social night cum dancing at Kovan CC on 29 Aug (Fri night)
    – the D & D which will be held on 21 Dec (Sunday night)

and many others… you may wish to register yourself after reading the myriads of activities available :-)

You can also take half a day off this coming 9 Sep and come for our coffee chat. Some of our working members do take half a day’s leave to destress and relax once in a while. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy ya?

The first step to making friends or taking part in an activity is always the most challenging. But once you have made this first step, the rest should come easy. No one is born courageous, confident and bold ~these are skills which we’ll pick up as we socialise more?

    A warm welcome to you.

    Best regards,
    Gabriella

  4. Hi Gabriella, I am glad that I found this club which have an objective is to provide a platform for SilverHairs, over 45, to meet new and more friends but now I feel that this club may have lost its value and goal. All the activities are organized for the existing group’s interest instead of helping the lonely silverhairs, over 45 to meet new and more friends. How many silverhairs like dancing ? Will you dance with someone who cannot dance? I am totally disappointed. Thank you and enjoy your activities by yourself. Lastly, please change your objective. Silverhairs 45 to 65 are still working and are poor. We just need to talk to someone. A simple request. Bye.

I have forwarded your comments above to Terence Seah for his attention. He is in charge of this Club.

    Tks for your interest.

    Rgds.

  6. Hi Eric,

    Thank you for the feedback.

SilverHairsClub provides a platform for seniors to meet seniors. Members are free to organise activities for new and current members. As a member, you are free to organise activities for new and old members too.

In fact, there are many activities on this forum. Feel free to participate, and you will meet other new ones too.

I look forward to seeing you at the next event.

    Terence Seah

  7. Aiyohyoh!

I am also totally disappointed… that I cannot come to this next meeting, again!

Sorry, Gabe… I’m away again…this time to Bogor, Indonesia to visit an ailing aunt. I missed the last meeting because I was in Phuket… but then??…

…All we do is sit around and talk… and isn’t this meeting and making new friends as well as catching up with older ones?

Keep it up and have a great meeting!

  8. Hi Gabriella,

  13. Dear friends,

Tks to those who have registered for the coffee meet on 9 Sep. Wd like to welcome more SHCians to join in. Come on ~ have a cuppa and meet friends. Friendship is very important at this stage of our life to maintain our sanity and keep dementia at bay…. whether we wanna admit or not, most of us do suffer from the empty nest syndrome? Ah ha….no worries, we’re all in the same boat.

    Warmest regards…..
