boom1  boom1  boom2

It’s easy to participate.  Simply answer two questions.  Members who have given the correct answers will have a chance to win a $100 NTUC Fairprice voucher in a lucky draw, conducted during the 1st week of Oct 2014.

  • Question 1 – SHC has two official songs.  The first song was compiled by sung by member Clara Chay, and the music composed and played by Ronald Wi. The second song is sung and compiled by Sompho Homjumroon, who is our Thai counterpart member. Q: Which province from Thailand does Sompho live in? (Only one word please).
  • Question 2 – SilverHairsClub has basically two titles for members organising events for other fellow members.  One is Event Organiser EO, and the other is Event Coordinator EC.  Let us know the name and the date of the event you have attended since the Club started.  Q: Who was the EO or EC of that event?

Details:

  1. Members who have given the correct answers will be entered into a lucky draw during the first week of Oct 2014.  Names will be announced a few days before the last day of this month on this forum.
  2. The lucky winner will need to email boomboom@SilverHairsClub.com, provide the mailing address, and the vouchers will be delivered by registered post.

  1. “Boom Boom” Sep has started. Time for you to have some fun, get to know who are the other participants and stand a chance to win $100 NTUC Fairprice vouchers. It’s easy. Only two questions.

  2. Hi Terence. I am sure there will be many correct answers, if indeed we expect many members to participate. Luck then plays a major part to win through a lucky draw, just like buying 4D. This cannot be the objective of your “Boom Boom” invitation.

In an event that tests our knowledge of the Club, must we leave it to luck to decide one ultimate winner? Instead of giving a $100 voucher to one winner, why not give $10 each to 10 winners or $20 each to 5 winners ? Yes it is a negligible amount to many, but let’s share the fun, the joy and the “windfall”.

  3. Hi Christina,
Yes, I had planned to announce the results of the Boom Boom contest late last month. As I am still travelling, I will likely do so before 3rd week this Oct.

Response has not been good; and I am thinking of dropping future Boom Boom competition.

  4. So sorry, I just came back to Singapore; and had time to look at Boom Boom contest. Three members have submitted the correct answers.

They are: Janie Leong, Tan Li Li and Christina Pan.

We will do a draw at the coming Business Networking session on Sat 25 Oct. There shall be only one winner.

    Thank you for your participation.

And, on a side note, we have initiated this contest with the aim that more members will participate; But, …… I dont know why.

  6. Hi Terence
Such a simple contest with such an attractive prize – I wonder why the poor response. May be the contest lacks challenge – no need to think too hard and no research needed. May be if the contest is more demanding, it could attract more keen interest. It cannot be the prize for the $100 NTUC voucher is really very attractive. How about a general knowledge quiz on happenings during the 1940s – 1990s period? Do continue with the contest. :) ?

  7. Hello Terence,
A agree with Jassmine that we shouldn’t give up, just because participation was poor in the September’s contest. I participated in the August’s contest and it was thrilling and fun. We should stir up a challenge with a difficult quiz that need researching. August’s contest was just too simple. The criteria for a winner should be based on the first correct answer, once the quiz is released on the first week of the month. So no need for a lucky draw to pick the winner. However, if you still prefer a lucky draw to pick the winner, this can still be retained.
    What do you think?
