SHC Annual Swimming Day – Sun, 19 Oct 2008

This year 2008, instead of the regular Games Day, we shall be having  "SHC Swimming Day" in an Olympic size and chidren’s pool.  We had tried a Sunday and Saturday morning.  For many, waking up on a weekend is a problem.  So, we shall have a relaxing Sunday morning at Kovan Melody, courtesy of Ah Nee.

Now that the date is coming close, next month, it is our usual style to appoint an Event Organiser.  She is Lina Ng, a great swimmer, able to do at least 20 laps and tall enough to stand at the deep end of the pool.  Lina is assisted by Suzhang and Ah Nee.  Thank you ladies, and I am sure we shall all have a lovely Sunday.

  1. Games Day is a good time to meet new and more friends. How about swimming? Anybody like to open up your swimming pool, if you live in a condo estate? I remembered we had rain when we held Games Day at CSC in Bukit Batok.

    Terence Seah

  2. Ah Nee, Ah Nee,

I went to Games Day last year, and as I was a very new SHC member, I felt very lost. I remember YK and Joyce coming to talk to me. I also met other nice SHCians like Tim, BL and Dan. I don’t remember seeing you then.

Hey, Terence say he is looking for a condo to host this years event. You want to open up your Kovan Melody or Melody Kovan for this event? Sorry,I always get the name wrong. The facilities there are most appropriate. What will the management say?

So, I suggest you go take swimming lessons now. You have until Oct.. I think it is better you go take lessons, cos if I teach you, you will be a slow learner, cos free mah! Also, I cannot tell you off if you don’t do it correctly. If you pay, you will learn the correct strokes and even progress faster. And as for me,I will have more time to klkk!! hahaha

  3. If your or anyone has swimming facilities at your condo, and you offer to let us use it, we will pick up the costs on the use of the place. Dont feel obligated, anytime, you can let me know.

    Terence Seah

  4. Lina, Last year Game day, I MIA to NZ mah, so cannot attend. I heard so much fun, so this year must attend lor.

Terence, My Kovan Melody has an Olympic size pool, can swim straight from one end to the other end wan. Can come to my Condo and swim lah, no problem. Its free and easy, no need money. This Condo only 1 year old, but its a pity I can’t swim, can play water only. :)

    Ah Nee

  5. Ah Nee,

Not only does Kovan Melody have an Olympic size pool but they have a lane which is longer than the normal 50m. I like that lane cos cannot find it anywhere else. So start your lessons now, still not too late to learn. Then you can take part in the swimming event, just for the fun lah.

  6. Hi Ah Nee,

Fantastic. If you have no major objections closer the date, then I can take this place as confirmed. At least for once, we have something near the Kovan MRT.

Yeah! Like small boy waiting to dive into the pool.

    Terence Seah

  7. Can you swim? Need to have your name, so that you can jaga those who cannot swim.

Any style will do. Breast stroke, back stroke, cat stroke, duck stroke, elephant stroke, or fish stroke. Can swim length or breadth wise. Has to be a Sat or Sunday.

I encourage you to partipate. Even if you can only dip your legs in the pool, the Games Day is a great opportunity to meet new and more friends. Bring your yellow plastic ducklings.

Anybody likes to help me organise this Games Day. We keep it simple, all water activities.

    Terence Seah

  8. Terence,

Ok, do you want to use the multi purposes room for gathering after the swim? Swimming pool no need to book but multi purposes room have to book. I better book early just to secure this room for our use. In that case I need the date. I “agak agak” about 20 plus participants for swimming?

    Ah Nee

  9. Terence, noted in my calendar, Sunday, 19 Oct 2008. Cheers!

Lina, I doubt I can swim by then…if I can swim, long long time ago I swim already, maybe I have phobia dipping my head under the water ????

    Ah Nee

  10. ANee, no problem if you cant swim, I can help. All you need is to hold on to a balloon and keep yr front afloat. I’;; hold ye lgs and wheelburrow you but you’ll hv to don a wheeny tiny bukini to bring out that bit more power in my push but please no gassing, it wont help us move faster…………..

  11. Wow

U ppl plan even half a year ahead. Is there any photo I can view for the last event??? It sound very interesting but I don know what is going on (haha)

    karen

  12. Tim, don’t help me to swim, you help Terence to organise this event. Ho bo? Terence also need swimmer like you to jaga those who cannot swim. Ai mai? You help Terence leh. :)

    Ah Nee

  13. Hi Terence,

    Count me in, i am a swimmer. Free-style, breast-stroke, back-stroke n caterpillar-style, I am quite adept at it!

I volunteer to be a life-guard too. Only problem is, I have never been through a life-guard course!

    Danz

  14. Hi Terrence

We can swim, only breast stroke, can help to jaga in not so deep pools. And would like to join. Please include our names.

    Mike and Alicia

  15. Hi Dan

Just enrol with Spore Sports Council for the 3-month life-saving coveted Bronze Medallion course.

To October, you still have time. After the tough training, besides your swimming timing improves, your strokes would be strong yet seem effortless.

You also would acquire life-long useful skills, better stamina and excellent health to save yourself first and others.

In any emergency, you would know the “appropriate thing” to do correctly. Downing with dire consequences/life at stake is a matter of 4/5-minute at most.

Be encouraged, your dancing steps would also be swift, gentle and more gracious.

    Cheers,

  16. Dear Danz

Call the SSC and enquire with them.

I qualified around 1985 with The Chinese Swimming Club, the club that trains most of Singapore national swimmers and national water polo teams.

Our tester was The Life Saving Assn President and former Spore national swimming/sports convenor. My former RI classmate was then the Secy-Gen.

    Cheers,

  17. ANee, no problem, me just tie on my head 1 of sengh’s saffron turbans and you’ll be looking at the best of jagas. But like that, how to dive in to save damsels in distress needing caress? So, to keep my head dry, I’ll walk on the shallow end and pull out every gal whether she’s swimming, drowning or pretends to swim/drown and will apply the mouth-2-mouth kiss of life……….so gals reading, pls brush yr teeth first hor. Expect to be a very busy jaga.

  18. Tim, you so kind & “kwai kwai” this time round. Keep it up! Terence will be very happy to get you to help him and to be the “ba bu singh” Jaga for the event. Tell you the truth, the pool is only 1.2m throughout, so unlikely the gals will have trouble in the water…..too bad no chance to kiss the gals. So you be the EO lah, then Terence can throw away his Panadol Plus. Ho bo?

    Ah Nee

  19. Yes, ANee, you can call me Boo Boo Sengh for the day. 1.2m is abt 4 feet and our shortest gal is longer than 4 feet so under normal circumstances they wont hv any trouble but the trouble is if they all want the kiss of life they’ll have to lie flat on the pool floor……….heee, even if Boo Boo Sengh is the champion kisser he cant kiss that fast.

Luckily, we have DanH volunteering to be another life-guard (but must tell you very quietly, he chews betul nuts one hor).

  20. Hi Dan, Terence and Ah Nee

Take safety inside and around the pool seriously, not a laughing matter.

People from all ages have been seriously injured or downed inside and around the swimming pools, even in one-metre pools.

Never allow running or playing horses around the pools, falls can be fatal.

    Cheers,

  21. Not at all, Ah Nee

See you on Sat, 24 May for tennis.

Our former national tennis coach and champion is coaching from 5 to 7pm.

    Cheers,

  22. OK Terence, Tim & Dan,

I’ll also volunteer to be standby Life Guard in case all of you run out of breath in the kiss of life.

Count me in as participant in the coming Gamesday. This time I’ll have the chance to win some prizes.

  23. Wonderful, Patrick, that you too wish to be a jaga with us but there is a concern tho. Once you dive in, the pool wont be 1.2m deep but 4.1m and with yr good pals the thunder gourds up there cheering & waving, heeee, we might see a tidal wave……………….

  24. Hi. A question pls. We are not just going to swim freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and whatever stroke and that’s it right? Guess there will also be team games like plastic paddle boat race (eg 1 in boat, a couple or more in water moving the boat etc); collecting as many floating plastic balls as possible on plastic rafts; dressing up teammate in water and other team mates helping him/her to reach the other end of pool…etc etc etc….water telematches in other words. Right?
Btw I really really wish it’s May 2000 now!!! :-)))

  25. Dear June

How I wish I could turn back the clock.

Then I would still have my hub.. and mot… around. Sigh!

My apologies if I am damper. Cant help feeling that way.

  26. Hi June,

Besides the swimming contest, I support your conceptions of water sports and antics for fun n laughter!

The problem is how much liberty do we have in putting boats and other accessories in the pool. Remember, other residents of the condo will be using the pool too!

    Danz

  27. Hi JuneLim,

Can I ask for your help? Looks like you have many ideas. If you agree, maybe you can lead us on a few games, say two games? We would surely luv your fun play.

    Terence Seah

  28. “…….A question pls. We are not just going to swim…..breaststroke……. and whatever stroke……….right? Guess there will also be team games like…….. a couple or more in water moving the…………..dressing up teammate in water………..”

June, I’ll attempt to answer yr “a question” that comes in many parts.

    1. In dismissing the breaststroke, you must have recognised that the word is written in an incorrect order. Right, you can stroke it and whatever you want to stroke.

    2. Correct, there will be “moving in water” games like wheelburrow in water (see #14) which ANee & I will show how it’s done. If you hvnt found a partner yet, choose Steven, he has height advantage and will touch home in 1 stride.

    3. Dressing up teammates is fun. And to add even more fun, we can alternate btwn dressing the teammates and undressing them.

Very good suggestions which really are food for thought.

  29. Yes Caroline, understand u missed them much. For me, if i cld turn back the clock, I would hve treated my mot in law better :-(.

Let’s go back to happy things…Games day. Huh…how can we hve our Games Day in a pool to be shared with other residents of the condo? We must at least hve the whole pool to ourselves for at least 4 hours?

HeHe…I love to help out on say two games. But helping out to me means I can’t participate. I don’t want. I want to participate in the Oct 2000 games!!! :-))). Maybe I tell the EO abt the 2 games, help “dress” up the pool for the games (eg we need to “set up” lanes like in those public pools so that the teams don’t “langar”) etc etc and come Games Day, I wanna participate and hve fun!!!. Doable? We need other people to come up with more games. 2 is no enough!!!

Anything with stroke, move, dress etcetc…Tim goes bonkers :-)))).

  30. Its just a reflection and you are right June. Lets move on and think of how we can enjoy Games Day.

Dan I think you are right about the restrictions of using a condo pool. I did not offer my place because our management is very sticky about the rules and regulations.

It will be a good idea to get the clearance first before we plan anything.

    Wei wei Ah Nee how?

  31. Yes, it is nice of Ah Nee to offer the pool. Give her some time to check out first.

Meantime, we keep the date. If not possible, we will get another place.

    Terence Seah

  32. Hi Ah Nee

Caroline and June are right. Clear your condo rules and regulations, and obtain dispensation if needed.

In my estate, we have restrictions on games and balls in the pool. My Comm and I wrote those bidding rules, that is why am familiar. For the same reasons, I cannot offer my condo facilities.

H/e if renting a portion of Downtown East, one may get one of the pools exclusively. Here costs!

    Cheers,

  33. Hello all swimmers,

Looks like this swimming event are getting more exciting, JuneL, Tim, Danz, Carly, Patrick, JaneW, Lina…you all have so many ideas. I understand your concern, I agree there will be some kind of rules and restrictions but let me check it out first. In any case if we can’t use the pool as a game day, we can have it as a “swimming gathering”. I offer, because this pool is big, Olympic size mah. Will get back to Terence for further info.

    Ah Nee

  34. Finally, ANee is holding up Thor’s hammer (the gavel is too light for her) and wants some order in order for her to do the necessary checking and checkmate the condo management.

A wet Games Day is fun and a novelty so let’s bow our heads and………….

  35. Easy, Steven, since yr ears arent fins or help to push/propel, leave them at home the next time and in their places, can consider attaching a pair of oars…………..

  36. I noe 4 sure dat condo pool defintely cant use exclusively 4 1 course only. Tis Games Day falls on a Sun sumore make it hard 2 plan any H2O event as 1 can expect dat home residents will definitely use d pool 4 own leisure. So here, we can concluded dat H2O event, i.e. swimming, dun care simi strokes simi patterns sure tak boleh…

If ANee’s side cant worked out, den mayb can consider d blw option:

If we reli 1 2 plan for wet & dry events for Games Day, den, maybe can consider sports centre lor, got swimming pool as well as field track. How abt dat… plan a different 1 tis yr..

  37. Hi Tim Liu,

I couldn’t help laughing non stop for a few minutes when i read your hunmourous comment. You sure are full of creative imagination and is your hair “curly” ?

  38. Steven, how tall are you? the pool is 1.2 m, so no matter what you do in the pool, your head sure to be above the water wat. You so tall…..

    Hello all the swimmers again,

Seriously, if you all want to get wet, can come to my Condo and swim lah. I am wondering if JuneL & Tim’s crazy ideas would be feasible. :)

    Ah Nee

    Ah Nee

  39. As Tim mentioned – I will add more depth to the pool and stir a tidal wave. So for those who want more adventurous swimming – you can join me only after I take the deep.

    Have fun.

  40. Hui Ah Knee,

I am abt. 2m tall but still SHORTER than my favourite Basketball fan ,Yao Ming. And so no problem if anyone had difficulty in the pool,I can easily scoop them up with my hands.

  41. Hello steven,

I only said you very tall and handsome only mah, why you give me a new name. What is Hui Ah Knee? don’t be funny hor…

Lina, I joke joke with him only mah, steven, don’t like that leh.

    Ah Nee

  42. Hi Ah Nee,

Suppose to be Hi but type too fast and became Hui and cannot gostern button.

Why Ah Knee, becos I associate your name with your “sexy” knees. Ha! ha!

  43. Hi Ah Nee,

Steven finds your knees sexy. He is so tall and yet can see your knees. So next time, you must wear shorter skirts, haha. Makes it easier for him, lah.

  44. Hi Ah Nee #56

Let me rephrase my last sentence. ‘Makes it easier for his to see your knees lah.’

Better rephrase, in case Steven or Tim gets the wrong idea, hor Ah Nee.

  45. Only one word (lah) does not make a nano second in spring, Lina.

Very very very seldom, use such localised coined word.

Have met thousands of people and heard them using all kinds of Singlish, Chinlish, Bullish, Finlish, Catish, Wolfish (vixen fiend) and frog/toadlish – am familiar and have knowledge, for a wise thing I do not use them.

Stay healthy, courageous, versatile, strong, beautiful, clean and fit.

Very occasionally, just to spice a message whenever appropriate, for a change.

    Wise wise attentive lady.

  46. Aiyo Dolly, we always use singlish le, so we r not doing a wise thing le …. hehehe

but hor, I hv seen many ppl not even noe abc, but they r successful n humble ….

anyway, we still stay healthy, courageous, versatile, strong, beautiful, clean and fit … :)

  47. Yes, the successful are usually humble, useful, grateful, firm yet gentle, polite, professional and cheerful.

Also they are contented and happy; for men usually happily married, and healthy too.

So stay healthy, courageous, versatile, strong, beautiful, selective with goodness, clean and fit.

They share their life meaningful with others too, especially those are appreciative.

  48. Wise in speaking is also an useful skill/ability.

It is well formed, contains beautiful, useful and meaningful words, substance and thoughts.

  49. Aiyo Jane, singlish singlish lor.. no 1 is expectg us 2 write composition wif good english anyway.. i felt dat our style sbc mah.. tio bo?

got substance, got meanings anot, ????lor.. btmline, we write, tose interested 2 read, read lor.. tose not interested, skip lor.. I m doing dat myself oso lor..

  50. Well put.

There are many levels of knowledge and wisdom. Different kinds of business have their own more and standards.

Most will stay within their comfort zones will suffice.

If one is in global and G to G setting, and writing policy/multi billion $ papers for Board’s approval well articulated and standard English is a minimum given. Singlish or whatever-ish is a no no.

    Cheerio!

  51. When I was with J, all papers were written by sr prof staff or Asst Dir, checked by my Asst/Dy Dir for content, substance, xxxxxx and std Eng before my approval for top mgt discussion/bd approval submission.

  52. Hahaha.. sin wen SHC is a multi billion entity dat nid super gd english… i dun tin i nid any apprvl b4 my script can b published.. whether it is.. there is no Asst/Dy Dir unless 1 self declared as 1..

  53. “Stay healthy, courageous, versatile, strong, beautiful, clean and fit.’ Not ;ong enough in superlatives so let me add on b4 I scoot to the Cup race (watch for the local breds in the SIA Cup)

“Stay healthy, courageous, versatile, strong, beautiful, clean, fit, handsome, pretty, serendipity, divinity, brush yr gigi, dont be like a monkey, go geylang only look-see look-see, eat too much you mati, like Dolly said, men dont pun pee pee, grab if it’s free, and best, enjoy the fung pee.”

See you all on Tues p.m.

  54. Tim @ # 74

Ok, boys. Let’s not fight over the job.

A be the First Press Secretary and Tim the Second Press Secretaty for SHC.

The next time, ST wants to publish SHC they will need to create a separate supplement.

  55. yes, ppl like to ‘fung pee’ …. but the pee can be ‘cho pee’ or ‘sian pee’ …. when ppl ‘put put ‘ out, thought must be ‘sian pee’ but then turn out is very ‘cho pee’ ….. BTH… betta quickly run away … hahahaha

Dolly ‘lau wang mai kua’ …. what is the next sentence?

  56. Hahaha, Tim, ur singlish is as good ur std english.. steady2 pun pee2 so I reckoned all of us or mayb except 1 can ustnd urs lor..

Wei Jane, of cos, i noe wat come after lau wang mai kwa’… hence dont need to spell out here lor..

That rite, Lina, ur sbc reminder indeed get 1 ended wif complimentary close of std english discussion, but then,I tend 2 believe dat very soon there will be another (mayb this time, not here) a sbhl saluation always started wif ‘I was once upon a time….’ and not ‘I am’. LOL…

  57. Hi Tim Kor at # 74,

I laughed so hard that my perut almost sakit.
My nephew thought I was gila! Laughing to myself?

    Who ” Fung Peh ? ” .
Beh tahan, VERY PUNGENT . Boleh Pengsan . Ha! Ha!

  58. Everyone of us uses Singlish every now and then. There’s nothing wrong with Singlish. Don’t mix it up with ‘bad’ or ‘broken’ English or fractured literal translations from Mandarin, used by someone, who insists on claiming that he writes excellent English. Now, THAT is ‘fung cho pee’.

There are several here who write excellent English and despite the fact that I teach English, I can’t hold a torch to them. Yet these people do not boast about it, like someone I know. Talk about conceit.

Ya Steven, really ‘beh tahan’. So pungent. ;-)

  59. Hi EO,

for ur info, I cant swim and has water forbia, so dont think I will join you all for this fun game day… I can only give morale support ….hehehe

    Cheers

  60. Jane #83:

The best form of morale support you can give is to be there. I won’t be swimming myself, but I intend being there, to mingle, chat and maybe ‘accidentally’ push Tim into the pool. :o)

    Ron Koh

  61. Hello Terence & all swimming enthusiast,

I was about to enter my Condo Management office when this big poster caught my eye, part of it reads: “The use of swimming pool are strictly for residents and registered guests only.” ha…ha…ha….this poster must have put up recently….yo, why so strict huh? I went in the office, wanting to book the multi-purpose room and was told to book only 3 mths before the event date. Apa macam, wasting my time here, I better get back to the Gym and continue my Tread-mill…..

  62. Hi Guys and Gals,

I had the privilege of going to the Kovan Melody condo swimming pool. Pool is huge, has plenty of cosy quiet corners, and the water is blue. I didn’t try the water, but I understand it is 1.2m deep everywhere.

Location-wise, the place is next to the Kovan MRT. I cannot afford the condo and use its facilities. It’s very nice of Ah Nee to offer this place for an SHC event.

Now, because of the rules, it is unlikely we can have water games here; more likely we will call it SHC Swimming Day. Swimming is healthy, and it is also a great way to meet new and more friends. I encourage you to do some practice in the meantime, and put this date in your diary. We might be able to have a “Toes” and “Navel base” contest.

Other follow-ups may neet to be done in the coming months. So, remember Sun Oct 19, 2008, 1000 – 1400 hrs. So go ahead, and try to fit into your swimming costume or trunk.

    Terence Seah

  63. Hi Ah Nee,

Thanks for booking the Multi-purpose room and the AV room at Kovan Melody for our Swimming Day, 19 Oct 2008 from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. We shall advise the details on a later date.

    Terence Seah

  64. Hi everybody,

Each year, we have the SilverHairsClub Games Day. This year, we will have this event on Sun, Oct 19, 2008 from 0900 – 1500 hrs. As the location is at Kovan Melody swimming pool area, we have renamed the event to SHC Swimming day. Kovan Melody is located at Kovan MRT station. Thank you Ah Nee for arranging the use of the swimming pool and multi-purpose room. This is a large swimming pool, altho it has many private nooks and corners. It is not the typical rectangular size. If you are a non-swimmer, this place is great, all you have to do is to stand up, and you would be seen.

This is the best opportunity for the guys to show off their trunks and the ladies to show off their swimming skills. I think this occasion is excellent for meeting new and old friends, and of course, showing off our 24-18-26 figure. Aiyah, come lah, any shape will do.

Can I have a few volunteers ie those who can swim, and can help those who can swim 5 cm at a time. We need to know who you are. So far, we have Tim, Danz and PatrickYeo.

Any if you have out-of-this-world ideas on what we can do at the pool, we are all ears. Go ahead and dream … Do register here, if coming.

    Terence Seah

  65. Sure, Sengh, I’ll be there altho I am more for scrimp than swim.

Last nite, watched & supported my sayang’s bowling competition. My thots went out to Benson Koh. He may be gone but for a butty and a keen bowler like him, he’s still very much with us, esp where there’s bowling.

Hopefully, we would have a SHC bowling competition dedicated in his name…………….

  66. Hi guys and gals,

About time we start the regsitration list for the coming Oct Swimming Day at Kovan Melody.

Please let us know if you will be coming. There is no charge for coming to this event; but you are expected to eat very full so that we dont have to provide breakfast and drinks. Of course, another expectation is you are expected to show off a little bit of your midlevels, come in swim suit and make sure your hair is wet.

For those who do not register and turn up on that day, we would have the pleasure to have you contribute to pay for lunch that day. Mopre updates will come up soon.

Strictly for registered SilverHairsClub members only.

    Terence Seah

  67. SHC Swimming Day has now found the Event Organiser. She is Lina Ng, a great swimmer, capable of doing 20 laps across the full length of the Olympic size pool. Thank you Lina, and from here, she leads our Sunday relaxing event at the pool.

Strtictly for those who come in either swimming trunks or swimming costumes, and prepared to swim. Not for observers.

For details, http://silverhairsclub.com/2008/05/1710. Drivers, please give your fullname and car numbers.

Registration closes 19 Oct 2008 or when 40 pax is reached.

    Terence Seah

  68. Hi guys & gals,

Kovan Melody is close to Kovan MRT station. Coming to Kovan Melody is easy and convenience. Take the North East Line train and alight at Kovan MRT station, then –> exit A (Kovan Melody), once you exit out of the station, walk towards your right, you will see a side gate of the condo next to the Kovan MRT station. For those who are driving, upon reaching upper serangoon road, look out for St. Paul Church follow by SPC Petroleum petrol kiosk, immediately after the petrol kiosk, turn left to Flower road, if you miss this turn, made the next turn at Lowland road. At Flower road, turn right to Kovan road (Kovan Melody).

    Terence,

You are right, Lina is indeed a good swimmer and she will accompany the swimmers in the pool. Suzhang, a karaoke enthusiast will be singing at the AV room with those who prefer to sing or watch movies. Please bring your own favourite disc or movies DVD. Me leh, I will take care of everybody stomach. I will be ordering “nasi lemak” / fried “bee hoon” and soya bean drink for tea break. So see you guys & gals at the swimming cum gathering day, 19 Oct, a beautiful Sunday morning, Cheers! :)

    Ah Nee

  69. Hi Terence S /Lina Ng,

  70. Terence, Ah Nee & Lina,

Received Molly’s sms this morning. She has problem logging to her pc, so am registering on her behalf.

Hi Bira, you are most welcome to join me. Pls bring along your favourite disc if you like. You may also bring your gears for tennis & swimming too. :)

  71. This morning AhNee sent out an email asking who is interested in playing tennis on 19 Oct morning, to refer to Terence post in the forum on the annual swim.
I went to forum, didn’t see it and told her no lah, Terence hasn’t posted yet!

So cartoon me!!…:-) so this 13 May post has been resurrected!!!

And I see my name up there!!!….:-)).
Early this morning I was replying to Nee’s email saying….”it is a Sunday morn…mmmm…not too sure if I can make it.”

    Hi EO Lina
Would it be ok to discuss the water games via email, with Susan and AhNee in the loop pls?

  72. Hi Terence,

Is it possible to transfer this post to the front as I doubt anybody will notice if it stays on Page 17? Thanks.

    Hi friends,

This is my first time as EO, so I hope all of you will come and give your support. As the post was put up in May, I would like reconfirmation on the following names: Tim Liu, Patrick Yeo, Karen Thio, Jane Wong, Caroline Gee, Dolly Lim, Charles Wee, Ronald Koh and Yew Kwong. Any change of plans since May? Do let me know if you are coming.

Thanks Steven for your prompt reply. Hope you have a swell time in Australia. And if you have time in the morning you can still drop by. Thank you Molly, Ronald and Bira for supporting. June Lim, hope you can join us.

  75. Yes, Lina, you’ll have my support but do let me know in advance how it’s done……palms out flat to provide the support, or curl my fingers to form a cup or just stick out a finger to make that strategic support…………?

Jokes aside, i aint a strong swimmer but will do as can be done best.

  76. Hi Yk #102

Last time my company salesman reported back that he can’t sell a single slipper and shoe to the Africans as non of them wears slippers and shoes.

    Guess time has changed,

  77. Lina

Goodness , after hundred over comments, I did not know this is the “Game Day” event. All the while , I tot this is the same event that Dan post on swimming .

Sorry , I will be away on this date. Please delete my name

    Karen

  78. Dolly #104, Thanks. Will check with you nearer the date.

Jane and Karen, thank you for your prompt reply.

Charles Wee, Tim Liu and Douglas Chan thank you for coming. Douglas, I assume you coming and not going to help YK sell slippers in Africa which nobody wears. Tim, I will tell you which palm and finger I need when I see you at the swim meet, OK.

YK #102, Thanks. But I notice that you are always going to Africa when we need your support.

Calling Patrick Yeo, Caroline Gee and Ronald Koh. Any change of plans or coming to the Swim Meet?
