May 25 was the annual National Runway Cycling and Skating 2008, held at Paya Lebar Air Base.
7 die hard participants from SHC signed up and completed the 15km leisure ride at the air base. The magnificent 7 started the day at 6am, was at the airbase gate for security clearance by 7am and the event proper kicks off around 8.15am.
The runway cycling was crowded, the weather was fine and hot. After completing the ride around the airbase, we joined in the carnival, make some purchases and left the airbase around 11am.
Boon Liang, could you send some fotos for us to download so that members could view the events held at the airbase
For next year, we would like to see more participants from SHC

Congratulations on your achievements, even it was small, it would go a long way to encourage other SHCians to participate in future events, and very soon our SHC’s logo will stand out among the crowd, have our SHC T-shirts with the logo ready by next even, hopefully.

I was also there at RWCS. In fact I have participated in this event for the past 12 years. This year was the 13th year. I took part in the 45km Endurance ride. Did you all take part in the Go-Karting? It was exhilarating!

Hi Bernard,
I didn’t know that NRWCS has been around since 12 years ago. It was my 1st time taking part last Sunday. Wow! it was really fun, imagine all the cyclist cycled on the runway….very very long distance runway. 7 of us took part on the Leisure Route (15 km), but not the Go-Karting. What an experience, we enjoyed the ride, but most of all we enjoyed each other company. The magnificent 7, we will do it again next year. Cheers! :)
