Sunset Walk at Macritchie

Hello SHCs.

We will commence our first walking activity on Sat 18th Feb at 4pm. The route chosen is intentionally kept easy to accomodate non regular walkers. You can invite any friend along.

We  will meet at Paddle Lodge, a canoeing station, about 100 metres from Macritchie bus stop. From meeting point, we will take the boardwalk skirting the water edge, walking ocassionally among the trees for about 40 minutes and return via the adjoining jogging track. The total time is about 1 hour 20 mins. There is a washroom with toilet facility nearby. Drinks from a vending machine is also available. Alternatively, we proceed to the hill top food kiosk fronting the reservoir.

Put on a pair of comfortable walking shoe, some sun block cream and bring along a sunshade cap, a pair of sunglasses, a water bottle and a foldable small umbrella or puncho ( in case it rains).

Those intending to join in the walk, please email me at cwee99@singnet.com.sg or sms me ( hp 98288980) for further details & map.

  2. The circuit you suggested is a good one. I love the scenic view and, the distance is just right – not too long or too short. Could be muddy if it rains. Nevetheless, even first timers can manage this distance. Unfortunately I cannot join you this time – next time perhaps.
Have a good time and, for those going on this walk/jog, remember to bring a bottle of drinking water, you’ll need it.

  3. What a shame that I would not be able to join you for this walk as I am working that day. Last Sunday, I had a picnic at Kent Ridge Park. We need transport as the hill is very steep. Even the taxi driver had a little difficulty. But a great place. Saw a red squirrel, which is rare in Singapore.
