  2. Hi all,

Lydia – thanks for helping out with so little info or direction from me, but as mentioned it should be SHC , simple, honest and carefree for all, no hidden agenda, etc.
Sing along at the beach with Caroline, Clara, Lydia and many other songbirds.

James & Susan, Vivien, Patsy, Maureen, Agnes, Michelle,Constance, Nancy and all other new members , dont worry we will make you all feel at home.

Also hope more mini event EO will come forward to organise your interest like ‘Tarot’, or Origami, Lantern making etc .
It is not too late as this can be on a free and easy basis.

For all those events in the bungalow it will be on first come first served limit to 30 people for those who have registed or email me.

As for the 13 Sept Main Pot Luck event outside at the Beach it will be unlimited and everyone is invited to come in at anytime with whatever you want to bring, food, lantern , homed make tent etc.

James there will be plenty of time for you to mingle with us and to try out whatever dances we want to do. Cheers

  3. Seems interesting and if camping was mentioned in the spirit of chui kong l-p song, then it’s alright otherwise do please check it out whether the putting up of tents is allowed in the Club which which is quite different from our own SHClub.

Enjoy yourselves but do temper and moderate your enjoyment otherwise the NSRCC member who books the bungalow for this event amy have a lot of explanation to do to the Club’s Management.

  4. Hi Lydia, RonaldW,

For this mid autumn night, I am very sure to bring my tent to camp outside NSRCC. Shall keep the options open, but definitely no chicken curry this time. It’s been a long time, since we get to admire the mermaid on the moon. Shall be there until Sun morning 0900 hrs.

    Terence Seah

Mahjong set and table/chairs can be rented for only $10 per day, from the Resort, max 2 sets. So need to reserve early, for those who want to play, let me know.

Parking on Weekdays is $2.15 per entry, but weekend is $1.60 per hour. There are some free car parks but quite a distance away, but if you like walking/skating that should not be a problem. Cheers

  12. Hi RonW, Lydia, Agnes,

I dont want to miss this event, but it looks like I am likely to have to go to Kerala this mid-Autumn weekend. I can bring the big 4 men tent for your use on Friday afternoon. Anybody likes to use the tent? It’s takes 5 minutes to fix it.

    Terence Seah

  13. Hi Terence

No worries, was sooo looking forward to put up my new tent up and be your neighbour to watch the fairies and mermaid in the moon, listen to the waves lapping on the beach. he he he . Never mind, sometimes things just cropped up that are beyond our control. Am sure there will be other opportunities.

    Cheers
    Agnes

  14. “Hi Terence…looking forward to ……watch the ….mermaid in the moon…” Since that nite Sengh spotted his wig, gals hv been following him everywhere.merlioness, maids….and now he has trapped a mermaid in the moon so kerala is just an excuse, he must be going to the moon to milk the maid………..

  21. Hi everybody,

RonaldW and LydiaC have almost mapped up this weekend mid-autumn gathering at NSRCC. I am not able to attend, but will drop over for a short while this Fri, before head to the airport. Shall drop my tent there for those who like to experience tenting by the beach.

For some members, this place may not be convenient, but i would encourage you to come, if you are available. This is a beautiful resort and you can share your interests with other members here.

    Have fun.

    Terence Seah

  22. Celia-W, thank you for remembering me in yr invite. Like Terence who will be travelling on the nite of Friday, i will at best be returning from a busman holiday on that same nite (heee, pls dont take it that I am going on a holiday in a bus). Anyhow will certainly make an effort to drop by on Saturday nite if not earlier.

Folks do go, support and enjoy if you have the time !

  23. Hi Tim,

Have a good trip back from your ‘busman holiday’. I will drive there at about 2.00 pm and will stay until about 4 pm. Hope to meet Terrence and the rest if they are there at the same time. Saturday has been set aside for some church activities, so will miss the other SHC members. regards.

  24. Hi Ronald Wie

I will not be going to the SAFRA thingy this Sat.
My apologies and I have something personal to attend to.

    Charles Wee

This means I will not be taking a lift from you as I am pulling out of the walk too.

    Many thanks

    Caroline Gee

  25. RonaldW and LydiaC, with a group of fellow SHCians have started their mid-Autum celeberations at NSRCC, since yesterday. And, if you have time today or tomorrow, give them a call. Join them and meet them at Chalet 10. I guess no one will respond the forum today, as there is another group cycling in the Changi area too. Not too late.

  27. Hi Norlinda,

Actually i saw your SMS 6 hours after it was sent. Very far away. So, i guessed you had already enjoyed the keropok. Noticed many people enjoying the keropok but did not try a pc. Nor, what an annoying coincidence, haha.

    Terence Seah

  28. Hi Norlinda,

Minta ma’af that my hdph was at left at home and tak bawa.

When i saw your sms, too late.

Chin Boon still have a small portion of Indonesian
keropok with him. Sedap ! Yummy! Yummy!

Lain kali pergi chepat chepat ; mesti kiasu lah sedikit kalau mahu makan Chin Boon’s keropok . Jikalau tidak
    lu makan angin laut.

  29. Hi all,
Sorry to have to say a big Thank You to all of you who have helped me in many ways to make my laid back weekent retreat a wonderful one. I had to rush for my weekly badminton after checking out, rush back to manual wash some clothes, then to ECP for the bladding training. But because of the rain could not make it to CV, and ended spending more time and work on the steamboat buffet till late.
Thanks all for coming and for those who have enjoyed yourselves, give yourself a pat, the place is there and the friends are all there, and it is up to you all to make the best of everything. In life we have to start learning to be less depending on frends for our happiness even as we make more friends. Maybe the Bhutan , measure of happiness is soemthing we should learn. That sometimes we get more by giving. So thanks once again to all , Lydia, Ah Nee, Joyce, Hamidah and dancers, Lisa and Michelle for coming early everymorning to tidy up the place and making good breakfast.
For those who have enjoyed themselves, will plan another one the next quarter, just keep your ears open, heart open and be happy. Cheers

  30. hi Terence..
Wah!..now u so pandai can laugh at me hahaha hor!..that’s nice!
Ya lah, not annoying but ‘fated’ lah!..im not suppose to even get a bite
of that yummy kropok bcos if i was there…others wont get a chance lor!..hhmm :)

    Steven..u apa macam..hp very important..must bawa,jgn lupa macam orang tua lah!…hehe..luckily no girlfren calling,if not u sudah kena ‘cerai’!..hehe

Where’s CB?..he must hv answered in my ofis email lah.(im on leave today & tom..assisting the painters…jadi supervisor!), i very suaku no private email at home!…CB why u so ‘shy’ to yak so much in forum…just in case ada detective mahu tangkap is it?…:)

RonWie & team..thank you so much for arranging this fun ‘camping’…wish the next time its organise…i can take leave & enjoy…pegi picnic, cycling & chit chat with great company of all Shcians! but Terence must be in town lah…so kesian he cant make it that day…if he’s around…lagi fun..can ‘bully’him when he get drunk!…hahaha

  31. Hi Ronald

Thanks for organising this. I enjoyed the company of friends, old and new.

The rendang, soon kuey and chicken wings were yummy. The other food were probably nice too, but I couldn’t stuff anymore in.

The dance session provided a good workout and I also got to learn disco rock from Susan.

Thanks for sharing about Bhutan and the spirit of giving. I googled and learnt that Bhutan was rated by Business Week as the happiest country in Asia in 2006.

    Joy

  32. Hi Norlinda,

    Kesian ! Kesian !

Since you had missed and loved to taste CB’s keropok from Indonesia at the chalet , I had a better suggestion.

You may buy the RAW Krupuk Udang baru Aloha Sidoarjo Super Extra BIG ( Halal ) brand from any Sheng Siong supermarket and can supervise your maid to fry them.

And do NOT forget to bring along 1 tin to Mac Don ECP this Sat for all of us ,cyclists to sample. Boleh tak?

  33. Hi all,

Now that I have some time, must really say a Big Thank you to all who have helped me, Lydia for coming out on her own to support with the event publicity and pot luck. Joyce for booking the Bungalow. Jie and Grace Wong for signing up very early as anchor tenants for the whole event, financing this big project from this start.

A great big thank you to Hamidah and her dancers who took the effort to perform 3 dances, and this is after her puasa.
Also to all the line dancers that have been hiding for so long, thanks for appearing and to enjoy the recollection of the dances that we have learn. I especially enjoy the reenactment of our first DnD dances like Pizzirico, Comboy Cha,Cha etc, and also the Hamidah’s style of Bollywood line dances, Rene, Doreen and all of you, you all really know how to shake everything well.

Lisa for volunteering her hair styling demo on hair dyeing and hair cut, using my head though (but got a nice hair style). So Charles, Lina, Linda, Anne you learn how to segment the head, and how to create hair body to give better shape of flat heads like me. So maybe we can plan a monthly hair session cum MJ, and we know who to call, right Patrick ???
Also special Thanks to Dan and Joy, Susan and James for leading the Sat social dance group. And the group of merry singer and dancers who knows how to be friendly have a good time with everyone, especially Lin C, voted the friendliest personality for a new comer, you touched many hearts.

Special mention also to all those who have been very generous with their Pot luck contributions, a 1 kg Tiramisu cake from Robert & Christie, Michelle for big box of dougnuts, and Croissant Tuna Sandwiches, Jessie for the big pan of chicken wings, bee hoon and moon cakes. There were many who were as generous too, you know who you are, so a big thank you.

Lastly to Terence who offered to top up the balance which I strongly declined, and also to Ah Nee, Lina, Jie and Grace for collection of the funds. The total bill paid was $484 and total collected was $445, so I had only to top up $39.

So here is really a big thank you to the spirit of SHC, that we can have a good time, without having to over organise and to really have to work to hard just to have some fun. To those who felt let down in some ways, I will have to say sorry that I could not have let you all to organise yourselves to be happpy, maybe a trip to Bhutan as Joy as discovered will help, I see more Joys appearing already, and wish them well.

So as I have promised, as I have not lost anything, will plan another laid back weekend retreat, with more MJ, dancing, singing, maybe more organised barbercue so all can pay equal share. I have a handful of people who have suggested helping out it the next such event like,Lydia, Patrick , Michelle, and others. So once again thank you all and hope TErence will be able to camp out this time.

The target date is in December in one of the biggest Bungalow in the East, with gated compound for camping I hope , so maybe we can a Woodstock music and dance festival???

Lastly I apologise to all who if you have been asked to pay the $5 which you feel you should not have. I will refund every request, just sms or email your account to me, no questions asked. I have a few people I would like to refund the $5,and will write to you personally, sorry for the over zealous effort of my good buddies who some were saying acted close to Ah Long’s henchwomen.

Terence you miss the cosy campout unders the stars as we saw 2 tents out there with cosy couples in them, could it be our SHC’s couples???

Thanks all for the Mid Autumn festival I would remember for my life, for once I felt I was the owner of my dream Bungalow, hopefully will be California or Australia ,or mabye just in Phuket but back to basic Bhutan simple living style, as being happy is the goal not the other things. Life is a journey, not a destination, so Cheers

  34. Hi RonW!

What a lengthy words of thanks to us;(those SHCians)who went & visited yr dream bungalow!

It should be the other way round. Thank you for organising it for us. Though I went for a short while only, I enjoyed myself very much at the bowling alley. Thanks to Lin C & U.

Regretted not being able to attend the next day due to other commitments.

Looking forward to yr next bungalow in Dec. Better post it early b4, we make other plans for the holis.

As for Terence, he’s the only one who remembered the lanterns! Tho, he’s flying off, he took the trouble to support U! He was there for less than 2 hrs? I take my hat off, Mr Chairman.

    Terima Kaseh

  35. Hi all,

I really would like to have any photos candid or otherwise that anyone may have taken on both days. So would appreciate very much if you can email them to me at bswi@yahoo.com

Patrick, you too if you have taken any photos. About your MJ group, I guess you learned fast and I realised now why the IR is equally as important, to keep people like us busy and motivated, so please reserve me a seat in the MJ group. Cheers

  36. Hi Ron Wie

Thanks for invitation, fetching & sending me & my gang to & from the bungalow. It’s my pleasure to be able to contribute a small favour to yr event. Though it’s a bit tiring due to fasting, I don’t mind at all if my contribution can make others happy.

  37. Hi

    Photos already uploaded yesternight.

Sorry for the delay as I was expecting more to come. Somehow, none came so went ahead to upload as I do not want to hold back any longer.

    Happy viewing.
