2016 is coming. What are your thoughts for the new year? And how was 2015.

Year2016 1      Year2016 2

A good way to get to know one another is to share our thoughts.
SilverHairsClub has been quiet this year; but to many groups, SHC has been active in smaller groups.

Share with us your thoughts on how 2015 has been with you and the Club.  And of course, looking forward, how do you see 2016.

If you are new to SHC, this may be a way to introduce yourself.  And if you have been an old member, share your thoughts for the new ones too.

December is full of holidays and excitement.  So, let’s hear from you.

  1. Hi everyone!

Every year is a good year and 2015 is no exception. Whether a year is good or not depends on our mindset ya?

At this stage of our life, we should be happy and grateful if:

    – we have a roof over our heads
    – food on the table
    – good health
    – a few good friends and
    – a family who loves you

It’s good to note that you don’t stop having fun when you get old, but you get old when you stop having fun.

I’ve been in SHC for more than 5 years (?). Can’t remember as time flies by when you’re enjoying yourself. SHC is indeed a good platform for meeting new friends. Kudos to our Chief, Terence Seah for this initiative which he conceived more than10 years ago? Moreover, it’s free membership for all.

I’ve made some fine friends over the years. More importantly, I’ve participated in countless interesting activities organised by Members for Members, as well as EO-ing some events and learning some new skills in the process. Whatever ~ it’s the fellowship and camaraderie that I loved most about the events.

You need not be HOME ALONE again on a Saturday Night :-)

Goodbye 2015 and looking forward to a more fruitful and enjoyable 2016.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to one and all!

    CHEERS

  2. The picture and the words are too small and cannot be enlarged above. Hence, I have reproduced the haiku poem below:

    ‘All active Agers
    Silverhairs Club awaiting
    Loneliness no more’

    Regards.

  3. 1st thought: Time and tide waits for no one. It seems like only yesterday that we ushered in 2015 and now it’s time to usher it out! If only we could stop time!

2nd thought: Since Time is merciless, in 2016, I must not procrastinate in carrying out the items on my bucket list.

3rd thought: 2015 has been an emotional year with the demise of LKY and the national mourning .Election also brought out some deep anxieties about the outcome. The Jubilee celebrations that followed brought many goodies. Finally post LKY is not a sinking ship – a big relief!

    cheers!

  4. Hi Silverhairs,
Each year is quite eventful and earlier this year we had the passing away of
the Honourable Mr Lee Kuan Yew a well-known world statesman though quite
a harsh but principled leader who had projected Spore’s universal image by the
    mid-Nineties.
As an aside, those age Fifty and above who have had abide(yours truly perhaps the less than Fifteen% whom did not) from his wise pragmatism
is on a comfortable “journey’s end”. Born in 1947, yours truly will have to work
    till the age of Seventy-five.
As long as Sporeans remain cohesive and less mindful of the On-Off minor
irritants & inconveniences there should definitely be another SG50. Foreigners
love us because Spore is ORDERLY, SAFE, CLEAN admirable comments
remarked to me the past five years during the course of my work as a Security-guard since August, 2010.
    Cheerio
