  1. Hi Ah Nee,

Thsi is a very refreshing Post, with nice colours and easy to read layout. Have not seen a Post from you before, and this is the first time I get to read it. This is encouraging.

I shall join you and group for the cycling. However, not dinner. And for those who likes to make the effort to stay healthy, come join the cycling. I shall tail those who are realatively new to cycling.

    Terence Seah

  2. Oh Yeah, Terence is coming, my cycling buddies must be very happy. Norlinda, I know you have to do your Hari Raya visitng, but you have to make it a point to come because Terence is cycling…ha…ha…ha……. :)

    Hello Danz for Joy,
We count on you to be our photographer. We want to have a picture of Terence in the cycling group, Cheers!

    Ah Nee

  3. Wah, Ah Nee promoted to be the EO of this cycling event. Good for you, now we can resume our monthly rojak ‘ritual’ with the like of Lina, Susan, Molly, and Norlinda (where r u? U hv been MIA for ages. Apa macham, now u taller and slimmer?). And not forgetting Ronald, John, Andrew Thio, and Lydia (must have some guys and hot stuff along too). I can’t wait for our sweet Agnes to brush up her maiden cycling with her ‘teacher’ Jade to join us at rojak stall one day. I see Daisy Yeo is coming too. She reminds me of our varsity anthem: “Daisy, Daisy…….I’m half crazy………on a bicycle built for two” (the rest of all censored by our Singapore Censor Board). Pls Daisy, won’t you join us at rojak ritual? You remember me, Chin Boon, the guy who rocks the SHC boat once upon a time.

  4. HI Ah Nee,

Wah got promotion already in SHC, hymm, so cannot treat you to serabak stall kopi and roti. Btw I will be roller blading one way or another so will try to see what kind or rojak Boon is creating now besides the chilli hot one.

Also if roller bladders are allowed to join, please indicate that they are welcome, then maybe more roller bladders can join me, like Kat, Alicia, Stella and others ??

Stella this time, I will be your truly SAV, hope Kat too? Not like the other time when we were too busy preparing for our Desaru trip and could not follow you back to ECP.

    Cheers

  5. Hello Ron Wie,

Yes, all the roller bladders, Hannah, Kathryn & others, please come and join in the fun, we cycle…you roller blade. Since the long distance cyclist are taking a break this time round, our cycling route will be only up to the NSRCC. On the way back….that’s the most interesting part, we will detour to the Hawker centre for “Rojak”. Hmmm…so tempting, chilly hot “Rojak”….Ron Wie, you better stick close to us……..

Oh ya, the long distance cyclist can also join our fun cycling too. :)

    Ah Nee

  6. Hi Ah Nee,
1st time joining so how to get there – its easier to go by car but no car lah. If not wrong, can take Bus 16 & alight somewhere in Marine Parade then walk thru a tunnel right?? Hope you can provide short cut direction to meeting point. Xie Xie!!

Have many “tyres” around the waistline so hope to do cycling regularly to shed it off. On the other hand, how to?? Going for Rojak, etc… after that. Haa! Haa! :)

  7. Hello Chin Boon
Which SHC boat have you rocked? I thought SHC only has a luxury passenger cruiser where everyone on board are always merry and having fun. No? I only remembered a Chin Boon who gallantly offered me his seat while I was standing around. With more grey hairs sprouting, my memory must be lapsing….. ha ha ha…..

Perhaps you’re unaware. At the end of the last cycling event I was asking aren’t we going for rojak and was told you had waylaid the prettier gals and adjourned for you know where and the rest of us got left behind.

Enough for the teasing now. I shall only be too happy to join in the rojak ritual i.e. if I don’t get too carried away with my cycling and getting lost and separated from all you folks. C u soon.
    Daisy

  8. Hi Ah Nee (EO)
Don’t think I have met you but no worries, will know you soon enuf.
Pls register Albert and I for this enjoyable event.
If no one objects, I would like to gate crash on makaning rojak as it is one of my fav food. Where is good rojak huh? The last one I had was at East Coast Lagoon which was not too bad.
    C u all soon !!

  9. Hello Daisy
You remember me after all! Yes, you were standing there with that kind, decent and serene look, like a true lady the first time we met both as newbies that I instinctly offered you a seat. The next time we met was at the last cycling event last month and there you were with that angelic smile for me and Bam Bam at the bicycle kiosk. Someone told me I got the wrong Daisy Yeo above, but to me, I need not be surrounded with ‘prettier gals’ at the rojak stall to enjoy the food as I only invite my good friends for a cheerful gathering. So you’re very welcomed to our little party for makan. Just make sure you don’t get separated from us this time.

Oh, I forgot about Steven Chan too. How can I possibly forget my introducer to SHC and fellow cyclist who is also a food connoisseur, for whom I have returned the favour by introducing him to a new member for his spousal option at chilli padi buffet. Steven, where r u? Come n register yourself.

  10. Hi Pearlynn,

Which part of Singapore are you residing? I don’t know how to go to East Coast by Bus leh, some more hor, no MRT….how huh? Any kind soul out there can help please.
But if you still don’t know how to go, u let me know. :)

    Ah Nee

  11. Hello Ladies,

May I be of some help please. Yes, from town take bus no. 16, alight at Marine Cresent, near to Tao Nan School bus stop, look at the two blocks nearby nos. 24/25, walk towards the east coast parkway road, there are a few signs pointing to the underpass direction to the east coast parkway down the tunnel.

Also can take buses no. 13, no 196, as all these buses stop at the same place. cheers.

  12. Chin Boon,

When I read your comment at #10…ooh ohh…how can you be so blur blur, you are refering to Daisy Phua lah. Anyway I know Daisy Yeo love “Rojak” also, you are welcome to join us. :)
Seriously, if the cyclists want to eat “Rojak”, you are free to do so, but just make sure that you will be back at bicycle kiosk by 7.00 pm to return the bikes. :)

    Ah Nee

    Ah Nee

  13. An Nee
Who is Daisy Phua? I don’t even know her. You read my comment at #10 again, I mentioned specifically Daisy YEO lah. Now, who’s the blur blur one?

At this rate, the open house for rojak will call for more than the usual 3 large plates of rojak, more like 6, right? So be it, come one, come all, you rojak lovers.

  14. Hi Chin Boon #23,

You do know Daisy Phua. She was with us at the first rojak makan outing. The sweet and quiet lady. For the 2nd rojak outing, there was no Daisy at your table. Unless you had rojak with a Daisy somewhere on your own. Haha! Looks like we going more for rojak than cycling. Welcome Daisy Phua and Daisy Yeo.

As for Steven, I remember he said he was going to Perth.

  15. Hi. Can somebody please tell me how do I view the latest photos? The ones that everyone’s raving about! I’m a newbie (well, about 3 monhts old), am too busy moving house – hope to attend some of the interesting functions soon. Now, where/how do I view the photos??? Thanks

  16. Hi Florence,

I think we can view some of the photos under its different posts, ie. we can click onto each posting, and if it says photos to view, we can see them. cheers.

  17. #23 – the sheer mention of Rojak makes me salivate! Those years living abroad, all I craved for were good Rojak AND good Po-piah. While my fellow S’poreans craved for ChaKwayTiow, not me….give me Rojak & Po-piah anytime. Please, somebody, tell me where can I find these 2 goodies??
#28 Celia – many thanks for your post, very kind of you to take the trouble to answer my query. After much “navigating” I saw some of the fotos.

  18. Ah Nee – am staying @ Toa Payoh.

Celia – thanks alot for the buses & direction info to ECP.

Oi Cheng – Bus 401 from Bedok Interchange. Never taken before. Can u tell me how long it’ll take from Bedok to MacDonald. I must gauge the time so that I can arrive in time. Thanks!!

  19. Hello Florence

#23 here, in response to your request. I’m a fellow “newbie” too, 3 months old. But first of all, you have to register yourself with Ah Nee as I don’t see your name on the above list. Then on Sat. 18th you’ll have to cycle like mad to keep up with the breakneck ladies in time to join them for the yummy rojak (one of the best here). I believe I can find po-piah stall too at the food court, just to make sure you won’t miss it. Now I wonder why you bothered to stay away abroad for so long?!

If you find a tall and slim guy at the bicycle kiosk that’s me, #23. See ya!

  20. Hi Chin Boon,
I may have seen you the last Cycling event, with you ‘little cuttie’, are you the one but u may not know me. If you want to know, just shout for my name, I will be on the lookout, ok?

Some of the cyclists were mentioning about the yummy “rojak & po-piah, make me craze o-so. Pls include me 4 the yummy “rojak & po-piah.

    thank you
    susan tan

  21. #33 Celia Wong – I do miss the UNOX Rookworst! I lived in Belgium, in the Oost Vlanderen area, so I especially miss the mussels & seafood.
#36 Chinboon (aka TCB?). Oh. Thanks for your invite, but sorry, I don’t know how to cycle or roller-blade! Which food court are you referring to? Can ta-pau….?

  22. Hi Susan
There are several Susans at SHC it’s very confusing. Even if your name isn’t Susan but Catherine or Helen or Ann, I would have tough time remembering you. Good thing we have the same surname, though you are quite high-profile and often appear in the forum. Perhaps if you can put on something more eye-catching next Sat, you’ll be recognised instantly for that rojak, and of course po-piah too.

Looks like this is more of a rojak event than cycling huh. Right, EO Ah Nee?

Last speaker Florence, sorry lah, no cycling (or roller-blading), no rojak or po-piah, and no ta-pau. That’s Ah Nee’s name of the game. So get started with the learner’s group under Jade fast in time for the next rojak… er, I mean, cycling event.

  23. Chin Boon… Chin Boon,

Seems like you are labelled as the popular “Rojak” man….ha..ha..ha….I guess on the cycling day, you will be surrounded with all the ladies craving for “Rojak”…..hehehe…thats very fun. :) Aya, Florence can’t cycle huh? Then how to eat “Rojak”?

Chin Boon, I hope we have enough time for “Rojak”. We have to cycle fast fast, must reach NSRCC before turning back and heading for the hawker centre. Lets see how it goes on that day… :)

    Ah Nee

  24. Hi Ah Nee,

Will be joining this month’s cycling and thereafter dinner. Please advise the venue for dinner.

However, I’ll be cycling to CV first than join dinner later. Anyone else interested to cycle with me to CV?

  25. Hello Patsy,

If you want to cycle to CV, you have to start your journey early at 3.00 pm, right? The “rojak” is not appetizing for you huh?…he..he..he…will include you for dinner. Not sure where to eat yet but am thinking of the nice & quiet embience at Subway.

    Ah Nee

  26. Hi Chin Boon,

no need to have someting eye-catching to attract attention, going for exercise only. Will be in t-shirt & pant. Don worry, I will shout for your name and do the self-introduction.

Hi Ah Nee – can, we can cycle fast fast so that we can reach the bike kiosk to return our bike before the sky turn dark & proceed for for rojak, po-piah and also the dinner at the noodle family rest we last went after our cycling.

    cy on sat!

  27. Hi Ah Nee

Will not be able to join you cycling, just had 1 lesson under Ron Wie, still very kia kia, goyang goyang!!!

If you dont mind, will join you folks for makan2 n chit chat, after i finish teaching my line dance class at kovan cc

  28. #45 – ha, ha. I had the same experience, goyang2, then jatul2, then scared-scared and then swore NEVER to go on a bike again. Makan2 for sure I’m very good at, esp good Rojak & good Po-Piah.
It seems the rule here is: no cycling (roller-blading), no rojak, no makan!!! Hey, how about a tandem? do they rent tandems there? All it needs is a muscular & macho chap to pedal along…. right? No tandems available? well, how about a tricycle? Can? Ha, ha. You all go ahead and enjoy yourselves…while I “enjoy” myself unpacking over 40 huge boxes – I’m moving house Wed. Oct 15th. CHEERS!

  29. Hi Shirley Wee,

U teaching in Kovan CC. Every Monday, I was there till yesterday for practice on the BIG BANG BANG DAY, which will be happening tomorrow.

    Have u registered?

Hey, can I learn line dancing from you? U have to be patient becos I don dance solo. I always have a partner when I dance.Even with a partner, sometimes also goyang goyang if he turn and spin me too fast.

    susan tan

  30. Hi Florence

Hahaha, we can form goyang kaki club!!! but hor I am determined to pass my “L” plate la. With my patient teacher Ron Wie, I cannot dissappoint him lei. How about u coming back and learn tog, u goyang left and I goyang right……poor Ron will have a hard time with us.

We must ka ka learn, sure jadi one…. but hor must give credit to Ron’s good instructions, heng ugh, me didnt jatul2 on my first lesson!!!

Susan Tan: Ya last Sat, Kovan CC caretaker told me that quite a no. of pple practising dancing at the cafe on Monday, asking me what’s happening. I told him to watch out for a super performance coming up soon lor.

No prob you are welcome to come to my class to luk c luk c and see if you are comfortable. Class is small la, but the students hve been with me for 3 yrs +. Susan T & Shirley,
hehehee….this is interesting, from cycling to linedancing. I may drop by at the CC next sat to luk c luk c since I stay around Kovan. I do enjoy linedancing, but not sure if I like the advance wan, cos must remember so many steps & routine. Don’t want to stress myself for that.
Yeah…looking forward to see the performance at Kovan CC this evening…. :)

    Ah Nee

  32. Hi Florence & Shirley

If both of u are joining tis Sat, pls raise ur hands especially both of u are ‘L’ platers.

Tis ensures tat ur safety is least taken care of.

  33. Helo ChinBoon@10…
I am back!..no more no less..still same weight after so much makan2 to many houses during visiting…tak slim lah!…apa macam!…hehe

Wah!…looks like the rojak has become an icon in this cycling event..hhmmm
First its only me who tapau home on every cycling day..my family love this stall’s rojak..particularly my mom!..then one fine day…I tapau for ahnee, sue& lina to taste this yummy stuff..we sat at a bench at Bedok Jetty..& there it started…everyone said..wow!…so sedap!so sedap!..
    that’s the rojak story…hahaha!

Hope you ladies will enjoy tonite session!

    cya!

  35. Norlinda, so you’re the ‘culprit’ who started this rojak affair rolling at every cycling meet huh. Now that we know you ARE the rojak icon, you better turn up this Sat and be our beloved rojak chaperon for all our rojak lovers, so that I can be free from being known as the rojak man.

No wonder you looked so smashing on Wed night – must be the slimming rojak lah!

  36. Alamak! poor ChinBoon…
How can they labelled you as rojak man…mana ada class hor?..hhmm..so handsome..more like businessman ah!..haha..so kesian..

  38. Hi Ah Nee,

Line-dancing next Saturday, not this Saturday. Sorry lar… as long as I hear the word dancing… I sometime ‘cheong’. Sorry lar…next Saturday, I cannot go.

    C u tomorrow!

  39. #58 Shirley
poor you, no fun to be ill. Oh well, since you’re not joining, I won’t go solo…actually wanted to rent a tricycle…ha, ha, just kidding. (I’m still unpacking the boxes…). Anyway, the rest of the cycling gang will have more Rojak to makan without us two joining in. I bet you I’m a bigger eater than you!Hmmm, I can hear big sighs of relief from the gang already!
    Hope you feel better soon.
    Florence

  40. Hello EOs,
thanks for a lovely ride. As usual enjoyed the beautiful ride & also the makan session. :)

    Ronald/Kathryn
You were right. Ground was dry! Whilst I do regret not bring my stuff, I’m also glad in a way after seeing how well Kathryn skates & also the near accidents that happened yesterday between cyclists (I’m still very poor with my T-stop).
But I’ll definitely try & join you next round. Promise to bring my blades & only decide based on actual (rather than perceived) conditions! :P

  41. Dear Nee

Lucky that I make it to your 1st single-handedly run cycling event.

Enjoyed the chat with Terence along the way, the fun ride (although miss the power ride) with all of you – old and new friends not forgetting the “rojak” man.

To sum it up – orderly and hassle free operation.

Everybody goes home with a smile :)

    You, the “ai sai” lah.

    Cheers
    Rene

  42. Ha.ha.. Rene, 1st time you see us all queuing orderly for bicycles, rite? Think the bicycle shop man must be wondering if someone’s holding the cane…..haha…..

Can’t believe Ah Nee’s so systematic.

  43. Ha..ha..ha….

All of you “quai quai” Q…ing in single file behind Suzhang for the bikes,I can’t help laughing…….You should have seen how Douglas and the bicycle vendors giving out the bikes, so systematically and not noisy. And very fast, we flagged off all the way to NSRCC (no stopping at Bedok Jetty. Wow! surprisingly all of us (includes Jade) make it to NSRCC within a short timing for that photos shoot. Best of all, on returning we have plenty of time at the Hawker centre for “Rojak” and chit chatting. Molly even had her Beer drinking session….not forgetting the Roller Bladers, Ron Wie & Kathryn Lee joining us for the first time. I want to thank Douglas for helping out and all the cyclist for being so cooperative. The weather was good & breezy, we really enjoyed through out the rides. Douglas, quickly send the photos to Oi Cheng for uploading leh. :)

    Ah Nee

  44. Yew Kwong,

Thanks for the compliment, so how’s your trip to “Africa”? ha…ha…ha…..your slippers got business or not?

    Lina,
    Naughty…naughty you….

    Ah Neh

    Tricia,
Hope to see you more often at the SHC events, especially our cycling event….you did enjoying our company and nice meeting you too. :)
