  7. Some new updates on the schedule on 11 Jan 2009:

On the day of the concert, Karen Thio (Stage Decor) and (Registration and Ursher) Janet Heng, Grace Wong, Anan Lim, JH jie, Constance Wong will be planning to come to the auditorium at 3.30 pm. They will be helping in the decor work; and we hope to complete the work by 6pm, as there is an earlier event at the auditorium, finishing at 4pm.

Thank you ladies for the initiative and arrangement.

    Terence Seah

  8. “…..spectators hor, chin chai dress la….” That wont be in keeping with this solemn occasion where the pledge will be read and the anthem sung. Therefore it has been decreed that the chin chai dressed will have to undress for the rest but……………..they cannot anyhow press…………….

  9. “Stars-in-Concert” is specially catered to SHCians who loves to sing. Backup dancers would also love this event. Those who like to organise concerts would also like this event.

There is alot of hard work and planning. Perhaps a lot of headaches, disagreements, frustrations, time and energy needed to move at every stage. But, the good thing is everybody get to know one another. The bonding has been very good, and I am impressed.

My friends, you can be sure there will be another event. If you love singing, enjoying organising performances, please follow up closely with what the current organising committee is doing, and what is involved. If you like singing, I mean without scripts, please also follow what the singers are doing, and how they choreograph their own song item. Speak with me, and we shall get you prepared for the new year. Tell me what role you like to play. You may not get in touch with me, but you can also speak with LilyH, MollyC, JanetH, KarenT, RonaldL, CatherineY, Thomas and SusanC, plus the co-team members.

We have the final rehearsal coming up on the 9th Jan, at the SGCC auditorium. The actual concert will be 11 Jan 2009.

So, sms or email me if you are keep or organise the next event.

  10. Updates from Molly Chua on Stars-in-Concert:

    1. How to dress for SIC? It would be nice to dress up nicely for our concert, anything that makes you feel young and look good, right?

** Everybody on stage will be dressed in their best. Red lipsticks, painted faces, trimmed eye lashes and some patches of blonde or red color on their hairs, for the guys come with some wet-look gel would make you look outstanding on stage.

** For the audience – Smart-casual dress-code (with no shorts, singlet or slippers). A tie would be great and a broach on the dress would be delight. It would make the evening concert an evening to remember.

    2. Public Bus Transports to Serangoon Garden Round-About are:-

#315 and 317 (from Serangoon Central’s Bus Interchange (Loop), linked by North-East MRT Line.

#73 (Toa Payoh Hub’s Bus Interchange and Ang Mo Kio Hub’s Bus Interchange, linked by the North-South MRT Line).

#136 (Ang Mo Kio Hub’s Bus Interchange and Punggol Station (SengKang).

For those driving – Parking lots are very limited for visitors in SGCC, check with the security guard whether there are any available. However, one can park along those side lanes in the private housing estate opposite SGCC with the usual precautions. Do not obstruct resident’s entrance and passage which are very crucial that they may complain to the traffic police. There are also valet parking inside SGCC.

  11. Hi Tian Soo,

I managed to get Molly C to book 2 tickets for us. Will make dinner arrangements later.

According to the SHC members here, you have to wear shoes and even socks to attend, so please take note. I have. Am now looking for new socks to get prepared.

    Molly C,

Hi again and thanks for hepling me get the tickets and booking, I will pay when I next see you or at the show.

  12. Hi Charles!

    Hi Tian Soo!

  13. Hi all Cantonese song lovers,

12 days more to our Jan monthly gathering. Just cannot wait to hear Janet Chan, sing “Million Water Thousand Mountain is still love”. Here, Janet sings with no fear of blocked mountains… though the winds are swift and strong…. The song tells of strong winds blowing away the passionate love… Come enjoy and feel the blessings of the mountain waters.

    Janet Chan, Live in Stars-in-Concert.

Thanks for the invite to join your badminton games. I am a heart attack patient. Doctors told me not to do vigorous execise but to keep fit. I am not sure how to achieve that, so I golf, walk and eat. After nearly 3 years, my body is now fat, slow and rigid. Badminton may kill me quickly, without badminton it will be a slow death …tough choice.

  15. Hi Cat Ho,

I have many pairs of socks, only old ones, I don’t have any new ones tho’.

About your ‘rich man’ comment, there are many here but alas I am not the rich one, not with the on-going financial crisis.

The current joke is that before the crisis, there were many who were prepared to divorce their wives, calculating that they could live on half their net worth. But unfortunately, with their net worths halved or worse, by the crisis, they could not proceed. And they still had their wives!! A case of double jeopardy.

    Cu on the 11th.

    Janet Heng,

    Thanks for the ticket confirmation.

  16. Hi All Dear Friends,

We would like to express for those who have strong support given to SHC for the interesting event on 11.1.2009.For all those who had not bought the ticket. Please purchase the tickets in showing your support to all your fellows’ friends in the upcoming event. They need your encouragement!!!

Together, we learnt to enjoy what it is like to serve as ONE BIG FAMILY. And, we must say that, we are indeed very honored to be part of this Great Big Family!!! We shall take this opportunities to thank our founder Mr Terence Seah as well as the E.O. for the “Stars-in-Concert “and all his team for encouragement and guidance.

Let us each do our part, continuously put in our best effort and help strengthen S.H.C in becoming a more vibrant and more caring club.

    Best Regards,
    Thomas Loh

Hope to see you in the upcoming event
