  1. Hi Ronald

I just booked two-to-go on SIA for S$1,210 per person to London. You can go direct to singaporeiar.com to view offers.

Also, if you’re travelling single, Cathay Pacific has flights from S$1,200-plus but via Hong Kong. Zuji has these offers as well.

When are you planning to go?

  2. Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for your good info. Am planning to go sometime in Apr but there is a good offer will just decide to take off anytime for a short trip. Am planning to visit my sister and her children in Bedford.

When do you think is a better time, if I am thinking to cross over to France and nearby countries by train, etc. Need to get more info about Eurorail etc that Terence and group did.

    Cheers

  3. Hi Ronald

    Just saw your reply… questions…

I don’t like cold weather so April is still too cold for me; but there again, it could be nice and cool… and not too crowded and cheaper than high season.

Eurail travel? There are so many options and versions of discount rail travel now compared to when I used the Eurail some 15 years back. The best guides would be Eurail Guide, Thomas Cook’s and Europe by Eurail. You can get the latest editions of these guides at some branches our libraries. Check their availability at the National Library website.

I am considering whether to try the Eurostar to get to Paris by the Chunnel. There seems to be a discount package but you may have to pre-book.

Hasimah #3: The info is already suggested… unless you are looking for packages including hotel, etc. The coming travel fairs are good places to start your search… but you have to decide on-the-spot.

  4. Hi, all SHC travel bugs!

The cheapest fares to London yet…. today’s Straits Times supplement on NATAS has Emirates offering $988 to London return!

So, Ronald and Hasimah, get down there fast and book your tickets! Emirates is a world-class airline and not a budget flight; you’ll also get to stop over at Dubai, the latest shopping and leisure destination.

Ronald, if you’re looking for a “cheaper” alternative: Zuji is having a reverse auction on their site… try your luck!

All others: Check out the offers and packages at the NATAS fair… hundreds of cut-price tickets and tours available to Asia, Oz, US, etc… anyone wanting to organise an SHC tour?

  5. Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for the info, seems the Airlines are on a price war as Malaysia airlines has offer of only $640 return to London.

Maybe I can still hold on a little while before booking, the next offer may come with free rooms too, like what STPB is offering to visitors ??

Btw Kenneth do we need visas to London, Europe ? What about Malaysian? If we do need a visa , how long does it take to get it?

    Cheers

  6. “Maybe I can still hold on a little while before booking, the next offer may come with free rooms too, like what STPB is offering to visitors ?? ”

Yes, you ought to wait with my butty Tan Ku-ku who is also waiting bcos according to my macaw, STPB offers will come not only with free rooms but come the aeroplane to your doorsteps to pick you up………..better still if STB join the fray to at least match.

  7. If anyone is heading for Sydney or Melbourne, check out Singapore Airlines website for its Flexi saver airfare of $1008/-, only. I think this is the best ever fare offered and it does not require two-to-go.

  8. Hi all,

Emirates have special offers to Europe to London, Paris, etc at prices around $800. This is a better offer than SIA Two to Fly at $1200 return each, including taxes.

Emirates charges cancellation and date change at $100 and also one stop over at Dubai at $100.

The offer is valid for bookings up to May 31 for travel from Apr to June 31st while seats are available.

As I did anticipate better offers are coming and as Kenneth states Emirates is just as good as SIA if not better.

    Cheers

  9. Hi Freda,

Thanks, already booked my trip, as the prices vary for different days and I believe there are limited tickets for this offer.

    Cheers
