Welcome to Adonai Spaghetti & Dessert

Italian Mee Rebus! Yes, this is what ADONAI is serving!

Inspired by my partner’s vast knowledge of Pasta preparation in 300 over varieties, I  decided to give a try on a small scale of Pasta dishes in a Coffee shop concept.
Affordable and value for money, you can expect fresh ingredients and a flavour-filled experience with every mouthful.

ADONAI has also connected Dessert into the stall.   Nothing beats a yummy coffee shop fare with prices range from as good as $2.00 onwards.  Though a coffee shop, but a good place for fellowship or meeting up for discussion as well as gathering.

Do give your SHCian fellowmate support to this new birth of ADONAI situated at Roxy Square 1 #01-64, Stall 6…operates 7 days a week from 8:30 am to 6 pm.

Some of my recommended and top selling items :

Carbonara Linguine (top with either Chicken Roll, Salmon, Chipolata, Garlic Prawns, Fungi)
Aglio Olio; (top with either Chicken Roll, Chipolata, Prawns, Fungi)
Spaghetti Bolognese; Spaghetti Meatballs; Spaghetti Lebus Prawns
Spaghetti cooked with Black Pepper Sauce or Thai Sauce top with either Fried Fish or Fried Chicken
Good Try on Pine Nut Pesto Spinach or Tomato

A meal never complete with a taste of Mango Sago; Durian Sago or Peach Sago BETTER STILL, try our Mango Sago with Pomelo and what more with Durian topping, Whoo! Lots more…do drop by and have a try!

Personal Notes :
I have been so blessed to have my very supportive SHC bowlers that have made special arrangement among them to patronize my stall on Vesak Day!  Thank you all my beloved bowlers!

  1. Hi Anne,

Congratulations for opening up a new Italian store.
I’ve always wondered how to appreciate and enjoy Itanlian
food as it’s gaining popularity here.

First of all, maybe you can explain what’s linguine, aglio
olio, rivoli etc. What’s so exquisite about Italian fare
that we shall all learn to enjoy.

    Thanks.

    james

  2. “Hi Anne, Congratulations for opening up a new Italian store.” Well, will a store give the imprewssion that Anne-C is selling some kind of prada or lingerie when she’s selling at her stall, amthg more like pizza and spaghetti?

Yes, I must say that her Italian mee rebus came with a rich, tasty gravy and the prawns, succulent and fresh, so fresh that they tried to climb out of my bowl and I had to use my chopsticks to fight them and keep them at bay.

    Go for a double experience……………

  3. Hi Anne,

Finally you managed to put up the post, the first one is nowhere to be seen, this post is even better and here wishing you well in your new venture.

A jovial gal, we miss you and the fun and laughter you inspire at our bowling session.

Joy and me and about 10 of the bowlers was able to try out the delicious and healthy meals and of course the yummy deserts. We are all hangering for more!

This is a good place to meet informally in small group and in air-con comfort. Those of you who happen to head to the eastern part of Singapore, dun forget to drop by for a decent meal without blowing a hole in your pockets!

  4. Hi Anne

    Congratulations!!

Sounds good………will drop by when I’m in town to try this fusion. Love Italian cuisine and our mee rebus, so this concept is interesting. Who knows, we may work out a franchise here in HK.

    Take care,

  5. Hi Anne

Congratulations on the opening of your stall. With so many combinations, I will probably take a year to finish sampling them.

Hope your business flourish, but don’t forget your bowling kakis

  6. Hi Anne

I really enjoyed my meal of black pepper fish spaghetti at your quaint stall with the fellow bowlers on Vesak Day ! Hehe it was a double celebration, thanks to Tim, Albert, Genet, Danz, Joy, King Seng, Boon Liang, Janet and Shirley.

Your prices were sooo reasonable for the quality food served that we are so privileged to have tasted it. You cannot accuse us of clean plate syndrome when your food is sooo delicious :-)

I am looking forward to tasting all your other dishes soon. I have a small request and that is if it would be possible to add other variations of pasta ie fusilli, ribbon, shell.

    See you real soon !!

  7. Wow! PTL! I didn’t expect my Italian goes so far to selling prada or lingerie as what Tim mentioned. Joker la Tim, ever so creative with your words….hey hey, thanks so much for your well-wishing James, Tim, Dan, Edwin, Geraldine, Alice, King Seng (my buddy buddy brother) and Maggie. Really appreciate all your support.

Hi James, er…I will try to explain to my most simplest and shortest breath, there are many kind of pasta, in which, linguine, rivoli, fusilli, spaghetti are some of it, in fact, there are many many more kind of pasta, and also different pasta goes well with certain sauce too. There again, there are many kind of sauce that we have to prepare so to suit the different kind of pasta. However, ADONAI only carries, linguine & spaghetti as ours is in a coffee shop concept, so therefore, we thought we will just have the introduction of these two first. Perhaps you may want to drop by to my stall, then I recommend you to a taste of ‘Singaporean Italian’ pasta, haha…do let me know before hand to expect you okay….do email me at everson_theblueplace@hotmail.com for easier contact where I will leave my contact for you. Thanks James for your interest.
Hi Edwin and Geraldine, though we may not have met, but really thanks for your well-wishing and hope to see you both too with the others SHC members….ya like what Dan had mentioned, this is a good place for informal meeting and gathering.
As for my beloved bowlers, hope to see you all too, Alice, thanks too for your message…haha…okay okay…I will try to make myself free to come for a game or so at the alley. Maggie, aiya, sorry, forget to wish you ‘A HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY’ Muack muack…miss you all…..

    Regards,

    Anne

  8. Maggie, you are spot on with the “clean plate syndrome”.

I licked the plate so hard that even the cinderella painted on the plate went into my mouth. Still not satiated enough, I tried to climb on Anne-C to continue my licking but no thanks to King……he clung on to me with all fours like a newly born chimpanzee and so stopped me from a licking more yummy than the good food.

I shd be dropping by at least one more time before the month’s end which should give you time to discipline yr prawns to behave, keep still with eyes closed to be eaten.

  9. Hello Anne,

Just to wish you Congratulations and a very successful Pasta business.

With so many SHCians raving about your great Pasta, it is already a success. Good luck and may it continue to be soooo good and Hot!

    Geok Suan.

  10. Aiyo Tim, you really roping everyone into Adonai with your ‘Forest Grump’ feedback, what with the chimpanzee to link with King, I supposed you are talking about King Seng ah…heehe…my dear SHC’ians, I really must my caps off Tim, see how he can really draw up a picture, uh hmmm…thanks friend for your great recommendation.
Hi Geok Suan, thanks for your well-wishing, hope to see you too at my stall, do come and have a go at Adonai!

    Regards,

    AnneC

  11. hi AnneChua
Congrats on the opening of your makan shop!
I would love to visit your place one day,(im living in the eastern kampong) ..bring my other gang to taste yummy pasta.

Btw..what is Adonai means?..sori, suaku lah!

  12. Hi Norlinda,

Thank you buddy for your well-wishing. Welcome Welcome! please do bring in your ‘gang’ to Adonai. No suaku la, it is good to know more and learn more of other culture as well. Oh yes, Adonai is ‘NO PORK NO LARD’, so we welcome everyone and anyone. Don’t forget to try our desserts as well…

Oh yes, hi everyone, Adonai has also brought in kueh kueh but funny lei, they sell like ‘hot cakes’ instead of ‘hot kueh’ heehe…..

    Regards,

    AnneC

  15. hallo ah nee n lina,

i sort of early bird 2 roost, wake up @ 4am, thinking of 1 day hor die die must try our anne so call adonai food.

wat say u all ? i prefer weekday visit cos hor not so crowded… ai mai ?

  16. Hi Anne,

Congratulations on the opening of your new stall.

Sam / Norlinda, you are right, with all the “can’t tahan” good reveiw, die die must try. Don’t leave me out.

    Regards,
    Lilian

  17. Hi Anne #14,

You mentioned “No Pork No Lard” but you forgot to mention “Suitable for Vegetarians too”. Also got spicy & non-spicy versions … simply yummie :-)

Superb food at dinky-di prices….where can get in Singapore but at Adonai ;-)

I am still dreaming of that delicious dessert which I took two big mouthfuls out from Maggie’s order. (Hey Maggie, sorry to deprive you of two mouthfuls of the dessert.) Anyway, if not for my bulging tummie, I would have definitely take the whole dessert bowl from Maggie…kekeke :-D

    Kind Regards
    Genet

  18. “I am still dreaming of that delicious ….. big mouth..s ……from Maggie……Hey Maggie, sorry to deprive you of two mouth..s………for my bulging tummie……”

Well, Genet, why feel deprived of mouths? I can give you more than mouths…you can have my lips as many times as you like, and you need say no sorry for that. tim ah liu’s lips and mouth planted startegically are guaranteed sure-cures for bulging tummies. Like Adenai’s, it’s another “must try”.

Taking up wher Dan has left off, a fellow SHCian sent me a riddle to guess a 9-lettered word which by removing a letter each time, forms a new word, till the last letter standing as a word. It’s fun, not as amazing as it’s startling. Go try it like you do at Adonai……….and tim’s lips & mouth.

  19. Ah Nee/Sam,

I want I want. Please count me in if you are organising a group to try out the food at Adonai? After all the stress, now its time to ‘chiak and chiak’ and be rounder……hehehe

  20. Hello to all my “love to eat” buddies, Sam Goh, Cat Yeo, Norlinda…..and the rest (Boon Liang, Suzhang, Molly, Lina………, shall we go after our cycling event at EC on the 20th of Jun (sat) since it is near Roxy Square.

    Ah Nee

  21. Hi Sam #17,

You are a real big baby! Your sleeping time is similar to that of a baby. Sleep at 9 to 4am!

I will send an angel to exchange our telephone numbers with you when you go to Batu Pahat, OK. If not die, die, how to contact each other at the last minute. Ah Nee say go for dinner on the 20th June (Sat). You want? If so, come cycling first.

Cat Y, we’ll be in touch with you nearer the time.

  22. Thanks Lina/Ah Nee,

Aiyo why does it have to fall on that date? I will be on a car rally to Kuantan from 19 – 21st June leh. Looks like I cannot be pui pui liao so will join you all for the next makan trail…..Xie xie!

  23. Hi CatY

  25. Hello hello my beloved!

    Wow! Wow! Wow!

First of all, I must really thanks Dan for your kind suggestion to put Adonai up for SHC’s babysitting….it is really soooooo nice to know yet another group of potential SHCian-the Cyclist group! Haha….

#17-Aiyo Sam, just when you are about to be awake, this is the time that I goes off to bed…looks like we are working on shift work eh? Hmmm…maybe comes June, when I am ready to put on my full armour at Adonai full time, then I may want to think of having Adonai open till 4 am then you take over, haha…psssttt. that is provided if the management allows…look forward to seeing you…nevermind if it is weekdays or weekends, you are always welcome…

#18-Hi Lilian, thanks for your well-wishing…will definitely look out for you all…..

#19-Hello Genet….Oh yes hor…wow! you best man! Can remember my spicy and non-spicy versions ah…

I wonder who is talking now about bulging tummy….gosh! you really ah so ‘miao tiao’ still, now talking about bulging tummy, sigh! Watch your waistline friend, give it some more shape la…you need that to be promoted to ‘Audak’ group lei…

#20-Tim ah Tim….when are you not working huh? Your stay at Adonai very short lei….do drop by again with your buddies this time, I make sure I will give you enough utensils to stop those ingredients running away from you….

#23-Hi Ah Nee, thank you for your well-wishing…The building next to Cornerstone Churh is Katong Shopping Centre while Roxy Square is diagonally opposite… if on foot, the overhead bridge from Katong 328 Laksa links to Roxy Square thereafter when you reach the complex, take the escalator down, make a turn into the complex on the 1st floor, the first coffee shop….walk walk walk….Adonai is the sixth stall away from the coffee stall…

    #26-Hi Yew Kwong, am I missing anything…kaypoh kaypoh…what mass movie outing eh…where where…maybe I can join you guys lei….

    Regards,

  27. Hi Anne,

Congratulations on the opening of your Italian Food stall.
Karen and I happened to be around Katong yesterday . All this talk about the delicious desserts, we decided to drop by for it. Unfortunately, your stall was closed for the day. I have gone thru the menu. I know what to order the
    next visit.

Will try to get a few kakis the next trip. See you.

Once again, I wish you all the best in your business.

    Lin

  28. Hello Sam,

I don’t believe you don’t know how to “tak kar chia”.
No need to worry, you just come and join us this coming Jun cycling event at EC. There are many professional cyclists around……..Douglas, Yew Kwong, Rene, steven, Grace kok, Lina Ng…….aiyo so many lah. :)

    Ah Nee

  29. Genet #19

You can take any number of mouthful from my food anytime and dun talk about bulging tummie la….what tummie?

    Tim #20

tim ah liu’s lips and mouth planted …….are guaranteed sure-cures for bulging tummies. ……it’s another “must try”……

I think you can plant “them” at botanical gardens and then go to Dr Quack for sure cures

Timmy uh…the way you edit Genet’s comments remind me of the advertisement of Gold 90fm – only hear the good comments but yours is the total opposite – only the &^*()^ comments..but they are hysterical and creative.

Yo Genet, we have to put our heads together and bombard mr timmy liu la…cannot keep up with him leh..his english so powerful….

  30. Hi Sam

So much have been spoken by our spokewoman cum lead cyclist, Ah Nee. No worry even if u dont know how 2 “tak kar chia”. Use one that runs on “tian di”.

    Hi Anne

Mass movie means one that shows picture n with everyone sitting in one chair 2gether. So fun leh.

Last nite I visited your stall but found out that there is no lot for parking 4 2 wheels. So I left 4 home. Hv 2 come back other time.

  31. “Lin & Myself were there last evening at 6 but your stall was closed for the day.” What made you so sure that it was closed for the day?

Some body clocks are timed to do certain things at certain times so it could be a case of their body clock timed at 6-7 p.m. to lou sai after a day’s hard work. Dont believe me, go there this evening at 7 p.m., check her body clock and see for yourself.

“I don’t believe you don’t know how to “tak kar chia”.
No need to worry……..” Just bcos you say no need to worry, the worry will go away meh? Not so easy one lah.

It’s a big fear for anyway thinking that he might fall from a bicycle so if you really think of helping Sam to overcome this fear, do the following.

Stand on your 4s and pretend to be a bicycle. Tie a bamboo across yr head as the handlebar. After he has mounted and turned the bamboo to the left, you go left. As at this height his feet can always touch the ground, he will soon conquer his fear to go cycling with you but at ECP where we all are, you should not let him cycle like that and make us all die laughing………….

  32. Tim #10

Wah lao…from 3 words – “clean plate syndrome” you can conjure up such a wild imagination of king, chimpanzee and prawns !! your talent is wasted in the legal dept leh…bollywood is a-calling !! :-) Come to think of it, you remind me a little bit of Jerry Seinfield, the stand up comic!!

  33. “Yo Genet, we have to put our heads together………….”

Maggie, it’s sad to see some born with their heads together and joint, needed big money to separate the heads and even then, they dont live very long.

But here you are, asking Genet to put her head with yours together………….you siao huh?

  34. Hi Anne,

Congrats! Hope it’s not too late. Will definitely drop by. I’ve a group of kakis who go on a eating spree once we complete our teaching for the semester…which is now!

    Yours for great food!

    Vivien

Thank you for your sincere well-wishes…..

Hi Yew Kwong #35-OIC! so interesting eh…everyone sitting in one chair…interesting! Do let me know what show lei…so that means we only have to pay to occupy one chair la…cheapo also.

Sorry that you have missed me yesterday also…but parking of bike..should have lei…let me go check check tomorrow then let you know where you can park your 2 wheelers…hmmm. may I should go draw a box there and mark ‘FOR YEW KWONG ONLY’ haha…anyway thanks for making that special effort to come down to my stall…xie xie xie xie…..

Time #36-hmmm….seems that you know my movement ah…actually I was there this evening till 10:30 pm…ya you are only half-right abt what having ‘lou sai’ but I had consti instead…btw, were you the one who visited me this afternoon with a lady???

  50. Hello Anne and fello SHCians,

This afternoon after lunch in Katong, 2 friends and I went about looking for Adonai @ Roxy Sq for desserts.Found it easily.

Anne recommended her Mango with pureed Durian topping which is very good. Mango Pomelo Combo was also very good.
Anne’s cold desserts are different from other shops’. The ice shavings are made from mango ice, correct me pls Anne if I am wrong, topped with cubed mango pieces and pomelo.Sooooo
nice esp on a hot day.

One of my friends is going back with her family for the Durian dessert which she liked very much while her family can try Adonai’s pasta which is very attractively priced and from all the ravings, I am sure it is very good too.

Anne, I wish you and your partner, a very successful Pasta business.

    Geok Suan

  51. Hello Geok Suan,

Thank you soooooo much for your feedback and compliments on our food. I must apologise sincerely that i was not able to keep you and your friends company but all your support to my stall is very much appreciated and would definitely look forward to seeing you and your friends here again. I must remember dearly too that you all have really made that special trip all the way down to Katong to give me all your support……deeply touched by all your sincerity.

Meanwhile, I also take tis opportunity to thank all others SHC’s supporters that has come and patronised Adonai and at the same time, would take this opportunity to apologise for not having been able to really sit and fellowship with you all…..however, your presence means alot to your fellow SHCians.

    Thank you all once again.

    With most sincere thanks,

    Anne Chua
