I am Sylvia Ang a new member. A Chinese christian lady in my 50s. I went to Niagara Falls ontario Canada for two years. I was a full time volunteer with art and culture in downtown niagara falls ontario canada. I am an active member of Braddell Heights advanced toastmasters club. I am a volunteer with Morningstar community service as a photographer and volutneer organising committee of event. I am a part time art teacher at a art school I love photography, creative writing, poet. I would love to make new friends, chat, tea or coffee, walk, photography, seminar and talks, movies. Thanks for your support and encouragement. My camera is sent for repair and hope I could get it soon to join you guys for some photography activities too.
I love to teach ink and colour painting and public speaking here. But I need someone to help me get a free venue for teaching before I post the activities. I plan to do it in the park like Botanic garden public area but would not know whether you guys will get lost in the midst. Any inputs and suggestions for better venue or recommendation would be very much welcomed.
You guys could drop me an email if you would love to invite in into your list of activities.

Glad to know that you that you are a ‘shutter bug’ too :0) I got myself hooked last June after a trip tp Vietnam and had been enjoying this hobby since…though it takes up lots of my time doing the editing but I guess half the fun is in seeing the final results.
Hope we can get together one day and go ‘shooting’ ya.

Welcome on board the SHC ship. Just as I thot, our SHC Sockie has already got in touch and it won’t be the last as there’s also Karen and a few more who’re keen photographers who would love to share and learn some pointers from you too.
Looks like we’ve another EO on the list now, so hope to meet up with you some day. Was also a Toastmasters member in Brunei and attended a few sessions at the Toastmasters in Middle road in S’pore. Only managed to do up to Project 5 and have not been able to continue since then due to time constraints and workload – I guess you can say, it’s more of an excuse huh? Anyway, when we’re at this age, we’ve just have to set our priorities right. Anyway, anytime you need someone to be the ‘Ah counter’ or time keeper, just give me a shout if/when you start a Toastmaster class.

How much time u need to teach ink n color painting. We will b having our monthly gathering in July so if the timing is achievable then perhaps, u can consider giving free hands-on on this topic which I am sure that a number of members wuld b interested to attend. FYI, monthly gathering usually started from 5pm n ended at ard 9.00pm. Most of the time is at Han’s @ Upper Pickering Street. Let me hear fromm u regarding this, ok? Cheers… Dolly

hi Sockie,Karen and cecila. I have a lot to learn from your guys about photography. I got a new camera. its spoilt and spent for repair cost me S$150 for repair so forget about it. I will get a new camera another time if my budget constraint is better in future.

Hi Dolly how many of you guys are interested in ink painting. I do a demo first and if there are taker than I shall start a class. I am an art teacher. (my canadian spring flower collection, lotus, irises, roses, orchids and poppies and mum, crystanthum and more).

My boss has recently started some food business at 287 Ghim Moh Chinese Language centre and I think they’ll be having an opening ceremony on 15th July ’09. They’ll be having a special promotion i.e. 1-for-1 free meal for a short period of time. I know that there’s about 5-6 stalls selling Western, Chinese, Japanese and Local delights and they have two sections, air-con and Alfresco on both sides of the canteen. If you’re interested, I can check it out for you and see if we can book the aircon area for our group provided you can give me the exact date. The place is called Bamboo Villa and is due to open on 15th Jul ’09. Rgds, Lisa

Thanks for the info.
I had already done a 36 hours course at Yo Chu Kang CC in July last year.
Perhaps in future I may consider doing a course in studio portrait but now there are too many things to tackle on my plate.
If you need buddies to go shooting, do drop Karen and I a line and I will keep you in the loop too if there are any outings.

I am thinking of starting a gathering for laughter, jokes and hobbies corner soon. whereby member who know of a certain hobbies could teach free of charge to other member, just pay for the cost of the material. We could have coffee, chat and share laughter, jokes, amazing stories or creative writing regularing with members either they open their house for potluck, bbq or just outside. can old members pls feedback to me at this post or gmail at angsylvia58@gmail.com, once more people response we culd have the event kicking of course with assistance from volunteer members and suggesting for open house and venue too. pls comment
