  1. Hi Dan and Joy,

I think this carnival idea is marvellous. For a start, I have put this date Sat 31 Oct into my diary, meaning I shall come. Please register me as a participant.

I would also like to book a table space for the Flea mart. As with previous SHC flea mart, I am thinking of selling used condoms.

And to your co-EOs James, Pat, Jeff and Ronald, thanks for making this a fun day.

    Terence Seah

  2. Hi Dan and other EOs

Please include me for the buffet dinner, singing and social dance.

Appreciate your team’s effort in organising such interesting and fun filled event.

    Jane.

  3. Hi Danz,

Congras! I think the planned activities are more focus and
    easier to manage now.

Let me know when you plan to call the 1st comm mtg? I think
at least 3 or 4 would be required considering the magnitude
    of this extragavanza.

Is there a stage available, what size and what is the
flooring made of? Is sound system and lighting provided?
How can we get some budget to offset some expenses?
This is just the setup stage. The programming part will
have to follow once this is sorted.

Terence – heard Thai ppl (maybe those who stay there
frequently as well) are considered as Condom King. They
even invented a key chain with a condom sealed inside,
and with a caption “Break open if emergency”. You are
certainly the man for this job. Congras too.

    james

  4. Thanks Terence for your support and booking a booth.

Hi Jane, we look forward to your participation on the dance floor.

James and Susan Tan, yes they will be lot of nitty gritty to look into. Will keep you tap of the first meeting.

Dan & Joy will be sharing a booth too.

    Dan

  5. WAH!! Terence,you sure a recyled person(save the earth).
…..”I am thinking of selling used condoms.”

Sam(Ah Huat),consider buying some for making chewing gum?
I still remember you told us at the Padang trip, that Thailand people make chewing gum out of it…Hahaha

    eileen

  6. Hi Danz & Joy,

Re: Flea mart. Previously the rental per table was $35. Now it’s $20. If the table size is the same, I think this is a very good discount. Please register me as a flea mart vendor.
    TQ.

    Cheers,

  7. Hi Eileen,

    You coming?

Jassmine, yes the cost is lower so is the table size thanks to our CEO support! Will reserve a booth for you.

    Are there more takers?

    Dan

  8. Danz, pls reserve a stall for Susan Tan and me.

    Eileen#6,

Singapore banned chewing gums around the time we started the
    MRT operations in 1987.

There was a joke at that time that the reason was not to
keep Singapore clean, but more so because the chewing gums
were made from condoms that we have used and exported, but
whether to Thailand or elsewhere, I do not know.

Maybe Terence can confirm that, since this is his sideline
    now, haha …..

(Note: I claim no responsibility that the above story is
    true).

    james

  9. Hi James, Dan, Ronald & the rest,

Thank you for organising this SHC Carnival Day.

I may support with a stall. Selling what, will let you know later. Still discussing with my supplier on the deal. If everything goes fine, I will want the stall next to Terence Seah, sure HUAT AH!

    susan tan

  10. Hi Eileen,

Thanks for coming forward, let me know if you are booking a booth.

One more booth for James and Susan Tan, and reserving a booth nex to Terence who else to come?

    Dan

  11. Thanks Anna, good to have you again for the flea mart.

Anyone intending to take up a games booth? I will be calling for sponsors to donate prizes to make the event more fun and exciting!

    Dan

  12. Terence!

What are you thinking??!! Used condoms??!! Choy! I was thinking to give you support besides Dan and Joy since you are getting a table but how on earth can I do it now? Gosh. Must consult Ivy on this. Kakakkaaaaa…

So do I help you to sell or buy? Please advise. kekkekeeee.

  13. Hi Dan & Joy,

Can food be sold under “Flea Market” ?
I’m thinking of taking a table to sell my special
    sedap achar.
    Include me if no problem.
    Thanks,

    Constance

  14. Hi all,

It is NOT advisable to sell food items unless you are a LICENSED vendor to the public as Dolly has mentioned it before when I too made a suggestion of selling home made Koniyaku Jelly at the flea market at Bali Lane last year.

NOW I know for sure it is NOT WORTH it.

Remember the infamous Geylang Serai food poisoning incident and yesterday New ST where a I.T. businessman , a Singh file through his lawyer a complaint abt a dead cooked baby cockroach in her wife’s nasi lemak at a food fair.

At first she thought it was an ikan bilis ( anchovy’s )head but to her HORROR it was a dead BABY COCKROACH instead.
He is asking for compensation of abt $2000 for loss of the day’s earnings as she had to take her “shocked” wife to the hospital and be with her.

And so the choice is yours if you still consider to sell your special sedap achar in spite of warnings.

  15. Hi Constance,

I will check and revert soon.

    Steven, thanks for the warning.

I am hoping for more to come forward, it could be anything or service. Like giving a massage or reflexology, manicure or pedicure. Those in the Blue Helment are can also peddle their wares here.

We want to liven up the atmosphere with lot of fun games and teases. Dart throwing, costume jewelleries and tupperware!

    Dan

  16. Hi Dan,

If any SHC lady opens a massage booth Don Juan will be on first queue to patronise. Hahahaa!

On a serious note, can an outsider set up a booth at the carnival for foot reflexology. Professional reflexologists.

  17. Terence #1,
‘I am thinking of selling used condoms’
Hahaha…hmmmm are you the ‘user’ of such?

    EO Dan,
If someone just wants to patronise the flea mart/fun fair only, does he/she still have to pay the $18.00 ‘cover charge’?

  18. Hi Dan and EOs,

Music, songs, dancing, food, fun fair, “flea” picking… Yes, I am coming to support the gungho team for putting up this carnival together. Please count me in the merrymaking and buffet dinner.

  19. Hi Dan…Me supporting this fun event too…esp the singing jamboree…I hold the mike for Patrick whilst he strums his thing :-))) Count me in for the buffet dinner too. 10Q.

  20. Hi Patrick / others,

    Promise also V.FIRM Hands.

  21. Geraldine #15

Not to worry, think Terence meant he is selling re-runs imported from Thailand lah. At last year’s flea market, some Dutchmen bought a couple of boxes from him, heehee…

  22. Hi June Lim/ Patrick Lim ,

…I hold the mike for Patrick whilst he strums his
    thing :-)))

Watch out Patrick,DON’T strum your “thing” so strenuously until the whole floor is STICKY WET! ha! ha! :)

  23. Dan

I have the same question as Jonathan Ong. I love carnivals, patronising the stalls that is, not running them, hee.

So, do I have to pay the $18? Is it to cover the buffet dinner?

  24. Hello Gingko,

Thanks for the clarification. Phew! Stressed with the thought of the actual used things on display AND for sale………Kekekekeeee.

    Steven dear,

You and your royal flush…….’STICKY WET! ha! ha!’ You know, when I first read June’s ‘….whilst he strums his thing’ I went ‘Oh. Didn’t know it can be strummed.’ Now you are advising him not to strum ‘so strenuously’. Kakakkakaaa.

By the way, are you planning to set up the head and shoulder massage? Just the thought of lemongrass and lavender essential oils make me go ‘ahhhh…..’

  25. Jonathan, Geraldine,

I guess you were not present last year at our flea mart. I sold about $70 of used condoms, some expired, of course. What are used condoms? First, they have been used. Then, they are turned inside out. Wash and dry. And put back into the box. One dollar a pack. Now, I have to start collecting.

Am sure Joy and Dan will come up with the details; but I would encourage SHCians to come and support the Carnival. The guys and gals behind the carnival idea are going to put in a lot of effort. So, come alone or in pairs.

    Terence Seah

  26. HiLo…jus for the records….On 1 May 09, a group of SHCians were at the Canossian Home in Jurong. Patrick Chan played his guitar and sang for those people at the Home. As there was no mike stand, some of us SHCians took turns to hold the mike for him to that he can strum his guitar and sing. I was one of those who held the mike.

At this coming Singing Jamboree, guess that would be what I would be doing again :-))) ie if there isnt going to be any mike stand around..:-))) I cant sing!!

I hope Patrick sings again The Young Ones!!!…uuummmm!!

  27. Hi Constance,

Sorry, no foods for sale in the flea mart.

Patrick Lee, taking a booth here strictly for SHC member only. Do you have any funny tricks to show us?

Jonathan, Mary, those who come for the flea mart and fun fair need not pay a cover charge.

Steven Chan, I see you are ready to take up a booth. This is an opportunity to display your skill too!

Hi Feztus, thanks for your support. The stuffs from Yunnan sound interesting. Jassmine, will check the dimensions for you.

Gingko, June Lim, we are glad to have your support.

Dear folks, do give us a show of hand if you are coming. Just for information we have a huge running cost here, beside paying for the rent of the premises we also have to hire equipment for the singing jamboree.

We are looking for singers and dancers to come forward for the singing jamboree, singers would need to go through an audition to be selected.

    Dan & Joy

  28. Dan

I’m toying with the idea of taking up a booth which will be more beneficial to the males and females of society. Terence
used condoms booth will promote sexual limitation of coitus.
Less feel lah, with a thin obstruction. Yak! someone had used it already.

I may promote two contraptions of enlargement for the male part and development of the female boobs. See, that is thinking out of the box.

Not confirm yet, the idea is still very remote. Trying to source the stuff from the book of Karma Sutra, India.
No trick up my sleeve, Dan just to enchance the joy of intimacy to society. Hahahaa!

  29. Rummaging thru what we are keeping but have littl use of so it’s likely we will ask for a stall to dispose of them, will confirm closer to the carnival date.

Can still recall Sengh’s used condoms sold at the last flea mart. Genuine stuff as most were dripping wet and one was still worn on and its purchaser could take that man and the condom home to do as he liked. KT Wong, who helped arranged the flea mart, did provide a chopper and so no sweat, the sausage and the sheath cd be wrapped up, bungus & taken away like char siew funn without that man.

  30. Hi Terence,

I wish I can help you with the collection from now till the carnival. Will have to ask my HK girlfriends to help me to collect and FedEx to you for your table. Kekekeeee.

  31. Hey Tim,

Gross!! ‘……dripping wet and one was still worn on…..’. You know, I love char siew funn and now that I know better, I will not look at this funn the same way again. Yeesh.

Glad you are still with us despite your new found love which I did wish you all the best. Just disappointed that you did not join us with your other half on Monday 17.

Had a great evening with you on Friday 14. Another treasured memory.

  32. Hi Geraldine ,

…Besides Patrick Lee’s ‘Lau Ah Pek design’, his caps, hats, WHATEVER are also lau hum sup. Kekekekeeee.

    I can’t agree more.

His zircon bluff to his so called beloved Lo Fu Lo Chai
is really Teng Sum Teng Fai if 1 fine day if her wife happens to bring it to a goldsmith to verify if any of her new friends is able to tell the difference between a zircon from a real diamond.

  33. Hi Steven,

So glad that you can’t agree more about our hum sup ah pek. Kakakkaaaa. Probably still frothing and foaming. Kekekkeeeee.

‘Teng sum teng fai’. Your cantonese is getting better. Giggle, giggle………..

    Patrick,

YOU ARE SOOOOO DEAD!! I’m telling!! Zircon for your beloved other half?! What nerve. You were so busy comparing our diamonds when you were here in April and now we know your poor, sweet long suffering wife is wearing a zircon?

  34. Steven Chan #41, Geraldine #42

See single StevenC can never understand women. All wives are intelligent and suspicious. Hahaha! Imagine I can pull a fast one on you and Geraldine.

When I was in HK in April ’09, we compared rings and mine was only one third Geraldine’s.

My wife chose the ring herself and it came with a GIA certification. Hahahaaa! Women are always the winner in most situations.

That is why I never belittle women. Joking is fine. Now I got the last laugh.

  35. Hi Dan,

As James indicated taking a booth, if my plan has been firmed up, will share with him. Therefore, could you pls take out my name.

    Susan Tan

  36. Hi Susan Tan,

I have listed that you will be sharing a booth with James. I am assuming that you are also coming for the singaing Jamboree>

    Dan

  37. Hi Dan,

If I ever have ‘something’ to sell, I will share the booth with James. Definitely I will be in for the singing jamboree & buffet.

  38. Hi Dan/Joy

I participated in bazaar at safra mt. faber before n interested to set up a booth at this coming carnival. may i know:

    1. is the table size 1 mahjong or 2 mahjong table
    2. is it open to safra members to patronise our stalls? (if so, are they going to advertise for us?)
    3. what’s the operation hours for flea mart? (2pm for public is too late)
    4. is the sales proceed going to any SHC chosen charity or into the coffer of the vendors?

I can assist you in the flea mart/game if needed and would like to register for the dinner please.

  39. Hi Frisna

Thanks for your offer of assistance. It would be good if you can help take care of the games booths.

Let me attempt to answer your questions one by one :-

    1) We will get back to you on the size of the tables.

    2) The flea mart is open to Safra members and members of the public. We have asked Safra to help promote the event, but we have not got confirmation on this.

    3) As rental of the hall is by the hour, we have to limit the booking hours to control cost.

    4) Sales proceeds belong to the vendors.

    Dan

  40. Geraldine @ #40, for years I had taken love for granted and altho I did give, it was not felt and so that kind of love from me was no use, worthless.

After 2 failed marriages and kind of wasting away my life, with her, I am looking up again and feel that i have one last hurrah left which she is resuscitating it for me.

You’re one bright sunny gal with style, poise and brains. You deserve the best and I wish you happiness, good health and more.

  41. I have marked my diary,I am coming to have fun & enjoyable time with all my shc frens!

    Geraldine..come lah on that day..just take the airbus..so fast & easy rite?..hehe

June@32…oh Yes! I love The Young Ones!..cos we are!..we can ask PatrickChan to serenade ..hope he will be there as i heard..he’s the best..hhmm

Now im calling everyone to join this event of the year!..& make it a successful SHC family day..& if at the end of the day u not happy…i will take u to the hilltop..there we can talk about life!…haha

  42. Hey Nor, shall we dress as cowgirls. Used to watch line dances where the dancers dressed up as cowboys…hats, boots and all…so stylo mylo!!!! Shall we? :-)))) Then Patrick Chan can play Jambalaya too…:-))

  43. Hello Tim,

Yes, love is important and especially when one has found it. Saw the glow in your eyes when we met and you kept talking about your Marilyn and at times even confused me with her. Kekekekeee.

How’s your health? Did you get another diagnosis? Hope everything is fine with you.

    Take care,

  44. Nor dear,

Yah. Will just get my passport and go downstairs to the bus stop and catch the next airbus home. Very easy and fast……..also want you to take me to the hilltop to talk about life. Kakakkakaaa.

Really wish I can be there.

  45. I am ok, thanks Geraldine.

The surgeon and I took turns examining each other but clearly he had the upperhand cos with some underhand advantage, I was sedated before he cut me up, removed 2 polyps. One not to be totally outdone, I cut open his trousers and took away 2 turnips.

I am well now……….not so sure abt him tho.

  46. June@51
Pls bring along your tambourine too for Jambalaya!..alamak tak matching with cowgirl attire!..ppl might think we susah la…haha

    Geraldine@53
Why u want to climb hilltop here when u have a beautiful Victoria Peak with you..bring us there one day ok:)

  47. Nor,

You selling what huh? “lelong lelong”…calling all your gang…..ok lah, EO Danz, include me and Nor for this SHC Carnival Day. So many happening going on….not sure what are we doing though…maybe KLKK or kaypoh kaypoh. The rest of the gang have yet to response…..

    Ah Nee

  48. So we shall hv cowgals. Interesting but incomplete if without any buffalos for the gals to kow, or tackle.

Cowgals, cowmaids and may soon be the bulls’ mates ? Consensual adults are free to do anything so go one gear higher, they might find more meaning in the word “mate”.

Come SHC Carnival 2010 we might see a few gal-ves……..

  49. Nor Sayang,

I tak boleh pergi leh. Choon choon same day got colleague’s wedding apa macam.

Will ask her if can wear cowgirl baju and boots to attend or not. If ok with her, then I go for carnival then wedding dinner lah.

    Cheers

    tio bo ah jie ,,,hahaha

  52. Hi Nor,

Yes, will go to the Peak when you are in town to hold hands, take photos and talk about life…………..this I can do – old bones permitting. Kakakkakakaaaa.

  53. Hi Dan

Thanks for your early reply. Glad to be able to assist. What games do you have in mind? considering the limited space, time & budget may I suggest the following:
    a. Hit cans with tennis balls game
    b. Ring throwing onto bottles game
    c. Hole-in-1 putting game (golf)
    d. Banana eating competition
    e. orange peeling competition
    f. Bingo

I can provide all the above materials. Public can play a-c but d-f i think better just for SHC members. If you agree, will discuss about the charges/game fee, set up, manpower etc, in your committee mtg

  54. Hi Sam alias Huat,

I’ve got the very thing for you to give to your leading lady, so remember to visit my stall on carnival day, ok?

    cheers,

  55. Tim,

Glad you are fine healthwise. What a relief!!

Your surgeon is singing the soprano from now till eternity. Though I applaud your spirit, do send him a get well card. Good for karma………….

  56. Hi Dan

Would love to join all of you at the event but not sure what I want to do on that day yet….maybe I will KLKK with Ah Nee too kekekekekek

    Nor #50

You need any cowgirl stuff let me know ya..I got boots, hats, shirt and polo tie etc..can lend you on that day and you can do the yeee haaa on that day

    Sockie

  57. Hi folks,

Thanks for the encouraging responses, we really need more of you to come foward to make this event a reality!

Patrick Lee, we are waiting for your good to arrive? Sure sell lah!

Frisna, yes those are the games we want to put up at the carnival. Thanks for being able to supply all the items. Do you need helpers on that day? By the way our second meeting is this Friday and we hope you can join us. Will inform you by email.

Nor, appreciate your sounding out to your buddies to join us. We need you around to add some spices to the occassion!

Ah Nee, Rene, there will be lot of things to do like dancing and live band and SHC singers in appearance.

Sam, you are just the person we need in our committee, hope to see you this Friday, will inform you the place by email.

Sookie, glad to are able to come and hope that you will lead the line dancers!

We have a lineup of fun and games to occupy you for the duration of the carnival and need more help and support.

A booth will be set up for getting newcomers to join on the spot. Boon Liang will be in charge, overhead projector and computer will be provided and he need helpers. Please indicate if any member can assist him. You are in the committee too, will inform by email our second meeting this Friday.

Some of you may be wondering what to do and wear on that day? I just realised that October 31 is Halloween Night, most of us have not experience this before. The committee will meet and decide whether we should have one!

If that be so, I will come as Dracula going around sucking blood, hA HA HA!!!

    DanzforJoy!

  58. Frisna, of the 6 proposed games which are all interesting, 4 are “recyclable” and we can put the items back to replay the game all over again.

Banana eating and orange peeling will add on to the cost. After all the fun, the many naked oranges if not adopted will inevitably be eaten or crushed to make juices.

The bananas? Having ingested so many bananas, the fruit will have to find a way out of the eaters and that can mean many bananas dangling from all over his body, some correctly placed some not so likee under his armpits or our of his nostrils.

Geraldine, yes, the surgeon is singing the soprano now but being a good fella, it wont take long for someone to come into the refrain and then join in the song. The promise of sending me a get well card remains even if it’s from alabama, for the sake of good karma………….

  59. Hi Nor,

We accept any items as prizes for the fun fair, hope you have something to clear?

We are also appealing to those wanting to sponsor items as prizes for the carnival?

    Dan

  60. Dan #66
“We are waiting for your goods to arrive”. On second thought, manhood/womanhood is a very private matter. I doubt
my goods will sell. Imagine StevenChan coming up to me to purchase the ‘P’ contraption and a pettite SHC beauty buying the Bust enlargement device, in full view of boxy well endowed assets and virile he-man.

No sane person will expose themselves to their own ‘genetic
    deficiencies’

Hence, I am withdrawing from the adventure of ‘sure loss’.
On a private note, if you guys and girls really want the contraptions please email me at: leesjuan@yahoo.com or leesjuan168@singnet.com.sg for further private demonstration and consultation.

Hahahaaaa! Just joking. From the joker of laughter and jokes corner. LOL.

  61. Hi Dan:
this fri am only free between 1-4.30PM, if the mtg can be arranged within that time then i can join. if not, will give u more details via email.
yes, i need assistants also someone to help me transporting all the ‘equipments’ to safra (i live in Ps.Ris).

Don Juan, can you help ‘singing’ the numbers for Bingo?

Tim: 1 person will only eat 1-2 banana. it’s the speed that count. as for orange, yes, we’ll make juice after the game. do you want to assist as ‘judge’ or prefer to be participant?

  62. Frisna #70
“Don Juan, can you help ‘singing’ the numbers for Bingo”

Aiyoh Frisna, the name Don Juan is bestowed to me not to waste on ‘singing to the Bingo’. Are you all right? I only serenade to sweet charming ladies of SHC.
Prefer to judge a beauty pageant of SHC old beauties.

Next year I will be invited to judge in Timbuctoo’s national beauty contest in the dark. (Timbuctoo is in Africa).Very easy. cannot see anything, by feel only!! Hahahaaaa!

Cannot commit myself yet. Still a long way to go for the date. Will let you know in ample time.

  63. Frisna,

I want to participate the “Orange peeling competition”. Use hand or knife to peel huh? I am good at using my own hand to peel, can I get to eat after that….hehehe…

    Sockie,

I do the “yeee haaa” cowboy dance before, during my aerobic class. This dance very easy to follow, can master it within 10 mins. Why not you put together this cowboy dance and lead us as an item for the Carnival Day. Anyone interested?

    Ah Nee

  64. Hi Ah Nee:
You must use hands or mouth to peel the orange clean(1 pc/participant). you surely can eat it after the competition is over. but if you’re the ‘fastest fingers’ you’ll get a prize too! c.u.

DJ: Aiyah, instead of serenading to only 1 lady, i gave u chance to do so to many charming ladies in 1 go u knoe… ok, waiting for your confirmation soonest!

  65. Sockie@65
If u gg to choreograph the yeee haaa, i want to borrow!
Think others can masok, shirt tak boleh la..susah!..haha

Alamak..forgot to call tall& slim lady..LinaNg…come join us ok..u sudah lama tak join our activity?..got more interesting club is it?…apa bikin?

  66. Dan #66

No problem I will bring my ipod and we can all do some easy dances

    Ah Nee #72

Yoy want to show us how the yee haa dance goes neh, you show us on that day lah

    Nor #74

Yo what do you wanna borrow neh, never chakap lei….shirt can masok lah, just no need to button lor…but hor must wear a T-shirt inside, if not all the cowboys sure get their steps all salah kekekekekek

    Sockie

  67. Hi Nor #50

Apa macam? Don’t wear like cowboy/girl that day lah…. so leceh, must find cowboy’s hat, boots & attire. Make it simple. Just make your hair messy, messy, make your face pale pale and dress like hantu can already….ha.ha..since it’s Halloween. Dan wants to be Dracula & go around sucking blood….then you’ll be Pontianak lor…hehe..

Ah Nee #72… you can’t take that orange as your 100 days cough still on..hehe..

  68. Hi Jassmine #7 and Frisna #47,

    The table size is 3’x3′.

Dear fellow members, the take up rate for the flea mart tables is slow. We hope more will come forward to help make this event come to fruition. We are finding it hard to meet the cost. Any form of ideas, participation and sponsorship is sorely needed!

The response to the Singing Jamboree is also lacking. We want to make the event happen and hope that fellow members will come forward, otherwise the committee will have no choice but to cancel the event! In order to cover costs, we need 100 pax to sign up. So far about 16 pax have signed up for the jam and 8 pax have signed up for tables!

    DanzforJoy!

  69. Cheer up Dan, you’re doing fine.

From experience, we all know that responses for activities like this one can be lukewarm at the beginning but the momento picks up when the date of the event closes in.

I am still checking whether I hv enough to sell and shd be able to confirm by mid September.

  70. Hi Alice Teo and sunny Yeow,

    Thanks for the support!

Most of us may think that the date is two months away. But the committee think differently as the hall is charge by the hour and a lot of logistics have to be in place.

There will be practice and auditioning for the singing and a skit will be included. We are still open for ideas or anyone who have an item to perform for us.

Frisna is helping with the fun fair and games, magic show is also welcome here. SHCians I am sure will not be short of ideas, let’s share!

    Dan

  71. Dan is doing a great job..he’s willing to find time & all..we just participate, enjoy & help whatever we can

So ..pls sign up cepat & support to realise this event :)

  72. Nor,

Thanks for helping me blow a trumpet, need more of you around with such splendid attitude and kindliness.

Thanks KK Yeo for taking up a booth. Are there more with store full of barang barang to clear?

    Dan

  73. Hi Nor/Sockie/June Lim/Ah Nee

I see most of you interested in dressing up like cowgirls then I must be different lah may be dress like buffalo girl hee..hee.

    Danz/Suzhang

Alamak some want to dress like Dracula & Pontianak like dat I cannot dance in peace scary leh see here & there got hantu (ghost) ha..ha

    Hamidah

  74. “Nor, thanks for helping me blow a trumpet, need more of you………..”

Nor, cheers to you for a job well done. But Dan is now so tempted that he is asking for more to come forward to do this blow job. Patrick-L and Steven, you dont have to blow the trumpet…….blow something that you two naturally have which for sure will pull the crowd from as far as Mt Senai over to the Mt Faber Carnival…ok?

“I see most of you interested in dressing up like cowgirls then I must be different lah may be dress like buffalo girl hee..hee”.

Hamidah, do give the gals more choices than dressed as some kind of a kerbau.

Since Dan is making a loud “call” for help, and the excited people talking abt dressing are all “gals”, put the 2 words together, they will all come dressede to kill as………And Patrick-L and Steven-C will need no prodding to blow even harder, hehe.

  75. Dear all

As the response has not been forthcoming, I have decided to call off this event.

I would like to thank :-

Terence for digging into his pocket to sponsor the rental of the venue,

Jeffrey Gan and Patrick Chan for offering to perform in the live band,

James Tan and Susan Tan for trying to choreograph a dance routine and volunteering to take care of the social and line dance activities for the night,

Cowgirl Sockie for coming forward to lead the line dancers,

Frisna Tan for planning the games and bingo items,

Eileen Thean for coming up with a skit on “A Visit to Geylang”,

Sam Huat Huat for agreeing to take care of the logistics,

Boon Liang for agreeing to man the membership booth and

Joy for breathing down my neck!

I also like to thank all those who have signed up to come or to have a booth. Special thanks to Nor who in her own sweet and charming way tried to garner support from other members.

    DanzforNoJoy!

  76. Hi Danz,

What a shame the carnival is cancelled – all your hard work came to naught. As venue rental is the main prohibitive factor, I wonder if we could have a virtual flea mart…hmm.

Nway, before I return some good books to their owners, I want to list three titles that I was going to display on carnival day(-for general information-):

    1. The Doctors Book of Home Remedies -thousands of tips and techniques anyone can use to heal everyday health problems.

    2. Cooking Smart for a Healthy Heart – over 150 flavourful, eat-right recipes

    3. Let it be Me -new Encyclopedia edition – more than 2000 pop songs.

If anyone has queries, my -email: kdaae2005@hotmail.com

    Cheers,

  77. Hi Danz4Joy!

Don fret..its ok this event has to be called off..there’s always some other more fun activities that u can organise..
