Join us for the walk from Woodlands MRT, into Admiralty Park towards Woodlands Waterfront.     Located in the north western corner of Singapore, Admiralty Park, a national park in Woodlands, offers both nature and recreational facilities.  Sungei Cina once used to run through the park but it has been diverted for the construction of the park. Much of the park is mangrove swamp.    We will walk one of the boardwalks which is within the mangrove forest, follow along a nature trail and enjoy its rustic surroundings.
Leaving Admiralty Park, we arrive at the entrance to Woodlands Waterfront which was launched in May this year.  Once a laid-back coastal area where a stretch of warehouses used to be, the area now offers a variety of recreational opportunities for people of all ages   The coastal park and waterfront promenade has four distinctive areas – the waterfront picnic green, event plaza, playground and jetty walk.   Overlooking the Straits of Johor, the refurbished jetty measuring about 400m long and about 12m wide, is one of the longest coastal jetties in Singapore.   Enjoy a breezy stroll along the jetty walk and take in the beautiful sea view.
After the jetty walk, walking back along the main Admiralty Road West we take bus service no 856 to Woodlands bus interchange/MRT station.   For those who wish to, can adjourn for dinner at the Mega Food Mall, 5th level or the Banquet, 7th level in Causeway Point.
Bring drinking water, an umbrella (for rain or sun), mosquito repellent, camera, cap and wear comfortable walking shoes.

See you at the walk!

    Daisy

  3. Hi Gingko, same here, first time went there when doing the recce together with Veronica. We enjoyed the walk, hope you will too.

Hello again Daisy. Looking forward to our meet up again.

  4. thanks Veronica & Mary for organizing. i will join you all for this walk. Had been there on bicycle. Woodlands Waterfront is scenic and the exercise corner has interesting rope ladders to climb. Admirality Park has many nooks and corners to hide.

  5. Hi EOs:
Please count me in, I had to miss the last walk at Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. This time I make sure I won`t miss it again!!!

  6. A thousand apologies, Mary. An oversight on my part. I keen forgot about a previous engagement I have on the 9th, both Lynn and I will have to withdraw from the walk as we won’t be able to make it back in time.

  7. Hi Veronica and Mary
Thank you for organising the walk. Please register me for the walk. Although, I can only walk slowly, I will finish the whole journey with all. Please bear with me.

    Cheers

  8. Hi Mary,

we r coming, SK and me. Sorry for the last minute
notice. We wanted to register much earlier but couldn’t
confirm our availabilty until now. C u all later….

  9. Dear Veronica and Mary,

Thank you v much for organising this wonderful walk. It’s my first time to the Admiralty Park and Woodlands Waterfront. The scenery is beautiful, esp at the Woodlands Waterfront/jetty, good exercise, nice weather and good camaraderie among SHCians. An extra bonus was watching a macaque mother monkey cradling her little baby… though we were a bit fearful of these monkeys in view of the latest bizarre newspaper report about an incident in Malaysia.

Cheers….. and looking forward to the next month’s walk.

    Gabriella

    Cheers
