A SPECIAL HISTORICAL WALK  —  "RTR1"              emoticon

Are you as excited as I to ramble the Tg Pagar Raiway track?

FYI, I was one of those who had written to the authorities to allow the public to walk the railway track after it will be closed on 30Jun2011.

Due to prior scheduled maintenance work by the relevant authorities, the route seems to be portioned into 2 segments/period for the public to visit.

Opportunity has been given, we want to take it!
Should the visits be extended, we shall do another then.

RTR1 – Railway Track Ramble 1, tentative on Thursday 14Jul or Saturday 23Jul.    emoticon
The post will be out for registration earliest this coming Sat if the walk is on 14Jul, else, post will be out later.

Meanwhile, comments if any, please feel free to write to me:  chrischan5575@yahoo.com

Let the joy of doing a pleasant activity be there always!

Till then…. stay Cool!  Be Cool!        emoticon

  1. Hi Christina

Thanks for organising the walks…sounds interesting. Am keen on the railway walk on 14 or 23 jul. I read in the paper today about the railway track open to the public..about 26km..shall we try that walk? am keen..

    thanks
    emily

  2. Hi Christina

Regarding the railway walk, you need to start from Silat Road near Block 144. The railway station is closed and also need to put on track or running shoes as the path have many small rocks/pebbles and uneven.

    Happy walking!

  3. Railway Track WALK……we set off at 2.40 pm, not sure where to start our WALK??? finally we end up at Rifle Range road, managed to park the car at a make-shift carpark. So excited, saw so many people walking along the track…..

Gosh! was about to start our WALK, a sudden downpour dampened my mood. Just have a quick look see…look see and a short distance walk along the railway track. Its raining and not easy to walk as the track are uneven and covered with small rocks / pebbles like what Lai Fong have said.

Since I did’nt really WALK just now, I am keen to go again. Looking forward to this RTR1 – Railway Track Ramble 1…Cheers :)

  4. Hi Ah Nee and all who are going for this railway walk,

    Just word of caution..

Better to wear trek shoes with good sole support, cause walking on these rocks/stones is very diffcult to balance,
as mention by Lai Fong “uneven” if not careful will trip and fall easily, we experienced it last Saturday.

    safe walking….
