Danny Lye – Introduction

Hi Everyone at Silverhairs Club,

My name is Danny Lye. I have been registered with the Club recently about 1 month with the introduction from my sister-in-law, Hamidah Ishak. I have joined in 2 of its activities – Durian Trip to JB and the most recent Railway Track Ramble on 14 Jul 2011. Managed to get to know some new friends from the Club but not so “well known” yet to others, so I take this opportunity to introduce myself, hoping that down the road one day, we will meet and get acquainted.

I am a very simple man with love for pets especially dogs which I have 3. One is a Male Maltese, 2 Female – 1 Schnauzer and 1 Poodle. The oldest is my Poodle which is going to be 14 soon. My Schnauzer is 2 and Maltese is 4. I also like fishes and enjoy gardening and fishing too. I have roses, orchids and many other plants too. I am married with a beautiful wife, June Tan who is also a member of Silverhairs Club. She is my CFO while I am the Home Affairs Minister. I like to lead a quiet and peaceful life relaxing and taking life easy. I spent most of my time on my computer surfing websites downloading videos/movies, utilities, songs, etc. I also love photography which I own a Canon DSLR 60D with various lens. I often go shooting with friends to improve my skills. I do travel occasionally for holidays with my wife and enjoy shopping and “makan”. I also love to cook. That’s basically my simple introduction.

  1. Danny, welcome to our club. It is nice to see you and June actively participating and enjoying SHC activities. I saw you at the recent Railway Walk but was too busy shooting away with my little camera and did not get to know you. You look rather professional with your telescopic camera & accessories and i am certain you have much to share with SHCians your photographic experiences. Hope to see you again soon.

  2. Sorry for some of the grammatical mistakes made in my introduction as I have corrected them before submitting but it seems that the draft copy was out instead. Here is the actual copy for publication. Administrator, please help to correct them for me. Thanks.

    #1 Charles,
I do think we have met on that day but not sure which handsome gentleman as there’s so many of you present. I am not that “professional” yet as I have not achieve up to that standard. Classified myself as a learner as there are lots more to learn to polish up my skills. Will be joining the photography session on 23 Jul @Chinatown with SHCians to learn and share more experience and skills.

    Rgds,
    Danny

  3. Hey Danny

Pleasure meeting you & June last Thurs. Hope you both have recovered from the walk. Thanks again for the group photo. Will get to know you better in future walks (about the only SHC activity I have time to participate). Pls say hello to June for me.

  4. #3 Lydia – You are welcome, don’t mentioned, its my pleasure getting to know you too. Thanks, will relay your message to June. Recovery from the walk is still on the way but my knee cap still giving me problems. Might need more time to recuperate. Hopefully in the future we can join in more of the walks as a form of exercise and getting to know more SHCians. If I did not remembered wrongly you told me that you are also interested in photography. Well, you can have a chance on Sat 23 Jul to join the photography session and learn more skills and also get to know more SHCians too.

Hope to see you there as I will be coming along provided my camera not going into the hospital tomorrow as I will be sending it to Canon for checking on the LCD screen display settings after having taken so many photos on the durian farm trip on Sat 16/7 to Tangkak.

  5. #5 Clara – Glad to join the club and getting to know more friends like you. Will be happy to see you on Sat for the photography outing.

  6. Hi Danny

Welcome to SHC. I hope to meet you and june, your dear wife, someday as I know your sister-in-law, Midah very well.

Here, we have Singlish, broken English, Hokien slang and everything, so long as no vulgaraties and swear words. I think with a little grammatical error, its no big deal.

Sometimes, fingers too fast so we have typo errors etc. Just feel comfortable with what you write, abiding by SHC rules.

Enjoy yourself by participating in the activities and get to know the members better.

    Cheers
    Carly

  7. Hi Danny

Sorry, just read your posting. Am sure you will enjoy the photography activity. My this interest has to take a back seat for the present, as there new developments in my work. Pls come, you & June Tan, for future Walks so that we can meet & catch up.

  8. #13 Hi Lydia !

We have just completed our 1st SHC Photography Outing on 23 Jul@Chinatown. Hew Lee was our leader and guide who showed us all those beautiful historical buildings which we took lots of photos for our album. Thanks to his effort that I managed to produce a “movie” on YouTube for sharing.

You can view it at :

Too bad you have missed this opportunity but not to worry too much, you can always join the group on the next expedition. Hope to look forward to seeing you on our next walk which we have yet to decide on.

    Take care of yourself.

    Rgds,
    Danny Lye

  9. Hi Danny

Sorry for late reply, usually read site on weekends. Watched your YouTube movie – yo, enjoyed the carefully crafted sights you have photographed. The old buildings really contrast with the new ones (like Pinnacle@Duxton) in structure, colour & design. I may not have such a creative eye like you but can appreciate others’ creativity like yours. Right now, I am learning to compose better pictures, only with my iPhone. Also peeped into your work on RTR – nicely done.

Hope to see you & June at the next Walk on 13/8.

  10. #15 Lydia – Thanks for your comments. Just parts of my learning experience in photography. More to learn and upgrade my skill to be more professional.

#16 Sam GOH – Thank for welcoming me to SHC.

Same to both of you. Have a Good weekend.

    Rgds,
    Danny Lye
