Hi All SHC Members,
I got a SMS today informing me that one of pioneer member, Mr Roger Lim had passed away due to heart attack at age of 55.
From what I gathered, Roger was once a very active member in Y2008 to Y2009. He had contributed many valuable comments on topics related to stock, investment, shares and trading. He also participated in the monthly walks and even attended the 3rd SHC D&D organised by Francis M. I believed there should be much more about him which some of you might had known.
For those who wish to pay Roger the last respect, I was told by his family members that they are only planning to have a 2-days wake (ie 25/10 & 26/10) and funeral scheduled to be on 27/10 Thurs at 5.15pm.
Roger’s wake is located at Block 94A, Whampoa Drive.

As much as I wanted to add more information but regret to say that I really dun hv any slightest idea of him except for his posted comments in the SHC forum related to shares, stocks, trading, etc.
Most members knew that I was never a active member in walking event coupled the fact that I was always away from SG due to my work commitment in Y2008 and Y2009.
Hopefully, some other members who know Roger, are able to furnish a photo of Roger to be upload here.

I remember Roger Lim. We met at SHC Mans’ gathering at Lau Pa Sat last year. He was a nice chap which I was hoping to be more acquainted with.
The next I hear of him is when he had an argument on this site with Henry Yip. I interfered because the 2 good men should not quarrel.
Now he is gone and I miss the opportunity to get to know him better. My loss.
It serves to remind us that after 45 years we are on our way towards the inevitable. We should make it happy times because it can be very short.

An Investment & Fund Manager, I met Roger Lim on few occasions. Usually he came to an event with Ann Lim; both of them are good friends.
He attended the SHC Annual Swimming Day in 2008 and BBQ Gathering in 2009 which I hosted at Kovan melody Condo. I remembered him coming to the BBQ Gathering with 2 big plastic bags of fruits. Another time was the Karaoke session at the Suntec City Guild House, NUSS Clubhouse and past several times during monthly WALK.
I don’t know him well; he smiles with greetings and seems a very quiet man. Sad to know his passing, may he rest in peace.
Agree with TS, life is short, let’s not quarrel, treasure our friends & enjoy those HAPPY times!

Sad to hear of another farewell. Roger joined in July 2008. Yes, he has been quiet most times; but he is has been a friendly person too. Didnt see him the past two years.
We wish him a new journey.
