  1. Thanks for your interest Danny. I also hope to see more new faces.

Beauty in nature can be represented by colour and/or shape and composition. Through your lens (camera lens), try to capture and experience the meaning of tranquility, calmness, peacefulness and serenity – especially when Mother Nature is in its total equilibrium.

  2. Hewlee,

Thanks. That’s a gd one. Will try my very best to capture as close to nature as possible with its beauty and tranquility too. I love colors and greenery.

  3. Hi HewLee,
Sory for the late reply as I had been very busy. Nevertheless, I see that Jasmine had fixed it already.

Next time, should you decide post another post, you can write to me first so that we can arrange a date/timing for hands-on on writing a post.

    Jasmine, thanks for the help.

Terence, maybe you can transfer to this post under Hew Lee so that he is able to view these comments via email first.

    Cheers.. Dolly

  4. Wishing that the weather is fine on Nov 19/11 so as to enable the SHC photographers do what they like best from their craft.

While I’m not into photography, that does not mean I can’t say
something nice to you all, Hew Lee, Danny Lye & the rest.

    Happy shooting!

    Best of luck.

    Terry

  5. Danny #5: Good that you understand what I mean – same frequency.

Dolly #6: It’s OK, Jassmine heard my SOS call.also Maybe you can consider me for an upgrade to be able to write post.

Terry #7: Thanks for your good wishes.

Terrence #8: I am not sure what you think. You can advise us the guidelines to follow. My first consideration is for our SHC members. It’s OK with me if some SHC members bring one or two friends along.

  6. Hi Hew Lee #9,

If you open your event to non-SHC members, this is considered an Event Coordinator or EC event.

If you open your event to strictly SHC members, this is considered an Event Organiser or EO event. Take your time to understand the difference.

    Terence Seah

  7. Terence #11: Based on my comments (#9), I think it is more appropriate to term this an EC event unless the situation is out of control.

Steven #10: At our age (>45 yrs), whatever money made or not made should have been completed(With Peter’s Principle, I believe, the cut-out age is at around 40 years). Our lifestyle should now focus more on maintaining good health, friendship and happiness.

  8. #12 HewLee,

I like it … maintaining good health, friendship and happiness! may I borrow your words,, “same frequency”.
When I speak with you I can sense that Happiness bubbling ‘quietly’ out from you. :D

  9. Welcome to our interest group, Aeden. See you on that day.
Quote: A camera that does everything teaches nothing. Will discuss the two basic terms “aperture” and “shutter speed” in relation to exposure modes.

  11. Hi
Can I suggest gg to d Orchid Show at MBS ($20) & we can also visit d Flower Dome which is opened for free, both ending on Sunday.
Thot we can always visit Botanic Gardens other days but these 2 events r not always ard. Also we’re saved from d rain, which seems to be an every day affair :(
    How?

  12. #16 Welcome to the photography interest group, Kum Hong.
Unless is a heavy downpour, the event is on. So for safety sake, please prepare yourself with the necessary and bring along, e.g. umbrella, a water-proof bag to keep your camera, bottled water and the like.

#17 Welcome to the photography interest group, Aeden Tang. An exhibition hall hosting the Orchid Show does not have the same ambiance and natural surronding as that in the Botanic and Orchid Gardens. We are trying to introduce our members to pay attention, to pursue and experience the meaning of tranquility, calmness, peacefulness and serenity – especially when Mother Nature is in its total equilibrium. With whatever photography skill we have, we are trying to capture these moments in pictures.

  13. Hi Hew Lee
I totally agree with u on what u said.

Nonetheless, d orchid show is once a year & free entry to d Flower Dome will not happen again, hence I’d like to go to these as not to miss them. As Sat is d best day for me & my family to do so, sadly I’ll hv to skip d Botanic Garden adventure :(

I do hope tt u’ll organize more photo excursions & I’ll join as often as I can. Tks again for d effort in organizing such activities, it’s never easy. Appreciated.

Hv a great excursion this Sat :)

  14. Hewlee,

Thanks for organising the trip to Orchird Garden @Botanic Garden. Even though the group was small (4) we did brave the occasional drizzle to complete our photography work on all the various orchid grown inside the garden. They are so beautiful and colorful to our eyes as well as to our cameras.

It’s really fascinated me with its colorful display of orchid. I have been in and out of Botanic Garden for the past years and I did not realised that the Orchid Garden was so beautiful inside. With a small fee of $1 for Senior Citizen and $5 for Public, you can spent hours inside admiring the beauty and sceneries. I will be displaying all the photos taken around the garden onto my Facebook. You are welcome to view them and comments.

    Rgds,
    Danny Lye
