  1. Hi Douglas
Website seems to be acting weird. Anyway, please register Dolly for this trip. I still don’t have the courage to cycling that far. I hope the long distance cyclists like Daisy, Charles, Tian Soo, Steven Chan, etc. Will sign up. They may not have noticed this post since it got buried under 2 other old posts.
    Regards
    Lily

  3. Dolly

You are very brave. I have read this thread but did not sign up because of the rainy weather plus I can ride there but to come back on the same day may be too much for me.

If we can spend one night under a coconut tree drinking coconut juice after a meal of lobster and crab, that I am interested.

  4. Hi Douglas

I’m interested to participate in this cycling trip.
Hope we’ll soon have 12 people.
Do you know if there’s any free car park near the ferry terminal?

    Warm Rgds
    Peggy

Drive towards Changi Sailing Club at Netheravon Road. A short distant after Changi Sailing cub, there is a free car park on your right. It is situated between Natheravon Raod and Turuhouse Road. From there you can ride back to Changi Village.

  6. Hi Douglas,

I’m in for this cycling trip..

Calling to all the cycling kakis do join in, and since this is the last cycling event, lets make it a memorable cycling
    event for the year 2010.

    Cheers

  7. Hi Douglas and all cyclists,

I have important errands to run next Saturday and the following weekends, hence I am unable to participate in the Pengerang cycling trip.

Yes, for those who have not been to Pengerang on the 2 wheels, this is an exciting and memorable experience you should not miss. Those who are going…”Jia You” and enjoy!

See you all next round…oooops! next cycling will be in Feb 2012…wow !!!

  8. Hi Lily Willilocq,

Thanks for your invitn to Pengarang cycling.

I will be flying to KL soon this afternoon but will be back just before CANTON night 27th Nov which I am looking forward to.

If not, I will definitely join you ALL as I had been waiting too long for it to happen in Oct but unfortunately the date was postponed to Nov.

Anyway, have a jolly fun ride with others and don’t 4 get to taste/buy the delicious freshly baked ” heong pan” cookies from this famous Pengarang bakery and the fragrant Bak Kut Teh at the corner coffeeshop which we used to stop for a break.

    Eating is believing :)

  10. Me and my friends went to Penggerang many moons ago – I still remember the delicious hot piping butter prawns and lobsters at the restsurant – Penggerang is famous for that and the cookes, as mentioned by Steven. Go, go for it – but I cant as I will be away. Hope to make it for the next trip.

  11. Hi Douglas,

I cannot make it for this event, sorry. But it looks like there is insufficient cyclists too.

Perhaps while we are having the year-end break for cycling, we could meet to have some discussion? I can host a simple dinner and you can call the usual cycling kakis, like Boon Liang, Yew Kwong etc? What think you? When u free? Don’t play hard to get lah.

    Charles

  12. Charles, Boon Liang and Douglas

    What a wonderful idea.

The best part of cycling is after a long tired ride there is a fresh coconut waiting, with ‘Bak Kut Teh’ and maybe lobster and crabs.

Even better is when you are about to get tired, it rains and you are stuck in a coffee shop. You can have coffee and good food without feeling guilty that you are not exercising.

But the best is like this…we just cancel the ride and go for a good meal.

We can go somewhere where they have round tables, square tables or rectangular table. We can talk about anything but business.

Don’t forget to invite me. I have not been to Jalan Berseh Hawker Centre for a long time. The pig’s ears, stomach, intestines and trotters are still there, waiting. I think Kenneth may like to join in.

  13. Haha!! Tian Soo

You are a naughty boy! Tempt me with food from the cycling team!

    Changi Point … food!
    Pengerang … food!
    Marine Parade … food!

Now, don’t even need to cycle … Jalan Bersih … food!

  14. Hi there Kenneth

Wasn’t it about food too in Chiangmai? I’d enjoyed very much the joints you had brought us to then. 6 in all if I recall correctly (sorry, mecah lobang). Too bad I can’t join you for the next trip.

    Cheers
    dAISY

  15. Oops…. sorry, Douglas. I did not respond to the cycling trip as I was having some problem with one of mi limbs. After some medication, advice on a stretching exercise and rest till the next cycling event, hope I should be in good shape again.

    Till then
    dAISY

  16. Hi Charles #15

Please proceed with the dinner arrangement similiar to the one we had some times back with Lily,Dolly and company. I am looking forward to it.

    Thanks for organising

  17. Hi All

The ride to Sg Rengit, Pengerang is on for this Saturday. Those going have been notified and we are all ready come rain or shine.

To those who miss this round, do lookout for the next ride.

    cheers

  18. Doug, thanks for organizing the ride.
It was a wonderful & memorable experience for me, covering 50km in all.

Till next time, but I really got to consider the 104km ride to & from Desaru which u challenged me.

    Peggy

  19. Hi Peggy

    Thank you for your support.

We are glad you enjoyed yesterday’s ride to Kampung Sg Rengit and covering a total distance of 50km. You are a potential long distance cyclist.

Having arrived too early for lunch in Kg Sg Rengit, we decided to visit the Ostrich Farm and later cycled further up to Teluk Ramunia.
We were back in Singapore before 4pm

We may organise a 2D1N ride to Desaru next year. The distance from Tanjung Pengelih Jetty to Desaru is about 50km (one way)

I have send some pictures to Sockie for uploading.
    Thank you Sockie.

    Cheers.
