  1. Hi JudyL #2,

I like your comment that you would like to join this coming Round Table discussion so that you can have a better understanding on what this group is doing.

There are many members who are not clear of the direction of the Round Table. Some do think that the group should have a clear objective. Well, in some ways, we may have started without a clear objective. We had different participants, ranging from those who had a business idea to share, to those who are looking for work opportunities or just a good dinner with plenty of social cum business networking.

Jeff and assistant Sue Chan have defintely gone a long way, into developing the Round Table as a business network, arising out of SHC members. I guess this is the struggle to find our own niche. I am glad to see their determination in creating a business network for members who are looking for opportunities, more sales and a wider network.

Some of you may have something to offer and share with other members of the Round Table; but are unable to attend. Well, feel free. You can share your ideas here on this Post, and the Round Table can pick it up during their discussions. Or you can email Sue as she is a capable assistant before each Round Table event.

Meantime, we are making arrangements for SilverHairs Enterprise PL to co-join with other business groupings in Singapore, or even overseas. As not all members would want to participate in business talks, this activity will only be open to Corporate members. Corporate membership to SHC members is free; so do join up before the end of this year.

So, if you can make it to the Round Table, feel free to share your ideas and suggestions here, or email Sue Chan.

    Hi Gabriella,

Just to answer your question I have copy and paste the explanation by Terence in response to a similar question post by Judy in the last Round Table on 2 Dec 2011.

  2. Hi Dan

Please register me for this event. Have not seen Jessie for some time now. Glad that she is organising this with you. Looking forward to my maiden attendance at SHC Round Table and catching up with her.

    Cheers
    Carly

  3. Hi Caroline,

so glad that you can join us. Jessie is a member of SRC and she will be there to show us around and especially so when we adjourn to Barker’s Lounge.

    Dan

  4. Hi Jessie,

Well done for initiating the Feb Round Table. Despite the fluid direction of the Round Table, you have supported its continuity. One day, you too will be part of the success of the SilverHairsClub business network.

It’s refreshing you have Dan as your co-EO. He is great, and another strong supporter of the club. He is full of ideas and creative.

And, to Jeffrey Lim and Susan Chan, who have worked in the background to steadfastly hold the longer term vision of the Round Table, your efforts are appreciated.

I am currently out of Singapore this date, so no promises for now. Thank you Jess and Dan.

  5. Hi Dan/Jessie

Please put me down as a tentative. Will confirm once I finalize my travel plans asap.

If it’s not feasible to squeeze me in or to have 2 tables, it’s ok.

    Let me know.

    Thanks!

  6. Primrose and Geraldine,

We welcome you to the Round Table and Geraldine no worries Jessie has booked two tables.

  14. Hi Dan & Jessie

Thanks for organising this round table event. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and got to know several new and “old” members better.

Great to see you again Tender Cow. Still pretty as ever :)
    – no old cow!

Great chat, good food and wonderful company.

Thanks also to Sue for updating our contact records to keep us in the loop for any happenings in this round table group.

Until the next meeting, take care.

    Cheers
    Carly

  15. Hi Dan / Jessie,

Last night was my second time attending the round table, some of my friend was asking me ” Surprise to see you attend the event?” Frankly speaking, I do not have any business background at this moment, however I feel that if I were to remain as me, I will not have the opportunity to improve myself and we have to accept that opportunity don’t always come direct to us. At time we need to make a more to look out for opporatunity. By putting in this effort, I will then be able to learn from others & always have the positive thinking to achieve my goals & look forward for better future.
Last & not least, I hope that my explanation will make it my intention clear of attending round table & special thanks to Jeff Lim & Sue Chan the enthusiastic & warm support to share amidst the round table & I have benefited some ideas from those member who have contributed their views.

    Cheers

    Judy

  16. Hi Jessie (lovely EO) and Dan Kor

Had a great time last nite. Thank you for organizing.

It was nice seeing my old flames (both gender) especially Baby Goat Diva who was very thirsty……and meeting members whom I had not met before.

    Lovely group!

  17. Hahaha! Tender Cow – I was thirsty but not that thirsty. Its just that the serving of the Snowball was so little. Finished it in two gulps. And when it was toasting time, my snowball had melted. Good fun though :)

    See ya again soon.

    Cheers
    Baby Goat

  18. The other night we got 21 member attending the Round Table. With a big group we split up into two tables. This is my first attempt at it. Some of us have not a clue what we are in for. The usual introduction started and all of us share a brief outline of what our profession are and sharing our pastimes and hobbies and interest.

It was started as a business platform meant to discuss business proposition or new ventures. How much it have achieve was not known. Some would assume that it is a more like a social network.

From the various monthly meeting some may feel that they are on the gourmet trails. What would I want to see happeninng here? Last night venue was quite an ideal setting except for the fact that we are sharing a restaurant with other member of the Club.

I noticed that this restaurant do have a special room for diners. It would be good that the next meeting should be in an enclosed area. This would promote better interaction and discussion among member. Not having an agenda may limit the flow of information.

In an enclosed setting, member may be more open and thus able to share their innermost thought. Would it be a better idea if we function along the line of the ‘Toastmaster’? I believe this would encourage more and better sharing among the member present.

    My 7cts worth.

    Dan

  19. Hi Mary,

    I will look into it.

Audrey Wong, our photographer for the night, can you kindly email the photo to King Seng our Picture Manager.

    Thanks!

    Dan
