Update on ServiceWorks’ Job Briefing on 1 June 2012, Friday evening

We had a job briefing last evening, 1 June 2012, Friday for SHC members who
have sent us their resume.  We are glad that all the 75% SHC members who
responded to the invite turned up.  At the briefing, we also have our own
friends, trainers and associates.

Our 2-month old SHC member, Jimmy Lim, delivered an overview of the
Innovation & Capabilitiy Voucher (ICV) launched by SPRING Singapore on 1
June 2012.  The evening’s highlight was on the various available job
options and related matters.  The audience was spontaneous during
the  Q & A session and they were invited to join the individual job
interest groups which were facilitated by our Consultants after the
briefing.

Main Interest:

  • Sales & Marketing
  • Training and Consulting
  • Mystery Audit and
  • Focus Group Facilitating

It was a fruitful gathering and we know that we have injected a reasonal
level of excitement into the atmosphere.  Some attendees moved around
after obtaining information about a different job scope.  Most of the SHC
attendees joined the Mystery Shoppers/Focus Group Facilitating groups for
discussion.

We hope to engage more SHC members to be part of ServiceWorks Pte Ltd.
If you are keen to be a mystery shopper, a marketing consultant, etc, please
write to us for an application form.

Members who have attended the job briefing, would you care to share your

We would love to hear from you.

  1. Two-month old??? I thought SHC members must be at least 45 years old!

Hahaha!! Just having a laugh at your expense…

I think the Blue Helmet initiative and ServiceWorks are both spearheading the engagement and employment of seniors.

It is a pity and an economic and social loss to the country that so many capable and qualified seniors are put to pasture at younger and younger ages. The government has to address this issue and not only that of the blue collar worker.

  2. Hi Kenneth

Thank you for your comments in this post.

If seniors have to ‘give way’ to the younger generation, according to the governing guidelines, there is not much that seniors could do to keep the job. (I’m talking about the prospect of my hubby being put in the same position in a couple of months time.)

With inflation rising faster than the money we could save for rainy days, I guess we both will have to continue to find new avenues to keep ourselves afloat. We still have 2 school going children in their teens.

I joined ServiceWorks Pte Ltd as a part-time staff 2 years ago, doing service auditing, conduct surveys, admin jobs. Though not on a regular basis, I do get by reasonably contented enough with the little supplementary income I brought home. Along the way, I took up some courses under the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) scheme for mature workers.

Now, I am happily employed as a full-time staff by the same company I started off with as a mystery shopper, etc.

I would strongly encourage those who wish to get back to work on a part-time basis but can’t commit all the time, to consider a Mystery Shopper’s position.

  3. Hi Friends,

We thank all members who have written to us since this post was published. We have been overwhelmed with enquiries, etc. We hope by now, most of you would have heard from us. If you have not, kindly email to me directly
maylee@serviceworks.com.sg or phone me by Tuesday 12 June. Please check out our phone number from the yellow pages or from the acknowledgement which we have sent you.

We are not able to establish some areas for our follow-up action as the information we received were vague. Examples,

    a) no mention of job interested in,
    b) no mention of whether from SHC or not,
    c) no contact number given in CV
    d) did not return duly completed application form

Responses coming from SHC has a place in my heart and I hope that those who have requested for our application form, please let us know if you are still interested in whatever posts that you are looking for.

There is a briefing for Mystery Shoppers on Thursday, 14 June 2012.
