  5. Thanks Terence for helping me to activate the ‘Comment On’. Dun know how I trip it.

Hi Alice, good that you can join us for exploring Sentosa.

    Gentle Reminder:
Those who sign up please meet at Vivocity Sentosa Station where you board the monorail at 3:30pm.

We will not have to walk all the way from Beach Station to Waterfront Station where Universal Studio is but take the train to and fro.

    Dan

  6. Hi Alan,

Certainly glad that you are joining us. This is the first time we meet and looking forward for you to meet the rest of the swell guys and gals here at Sentosa.

There is a slight change here.
From Sentosa Station at 3:30pm we head for Beach Station where we get to enjoy the beach setting.
Thereafter to Imbiah Station and finally to Waterfront Station.
As we expect the Malaysian Food Street to be crowded, we will take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk and be enchanted by the ambience and colorful laser display to St. James for dinner by 7:00pm.
After dinner we can stay back to be entertained by a life band. How’s dat to round up the evening!

    Dan

  7. Hi Gabriella,

Sentosa Station is located on the 3rd level of VivoCity next to Republic Food Court where Toastbox is.

Sentosa is a fun island with themed entertainment, a tropical resort and nature park. In malay ‘Sentosa’ means ‘having peace and tranquility’.

See you folks this Saturday August 25 for a day of fun and exploration!

    Dan

  8. Hi Dan H,

Jennie Tan has joined as a new SHC member. Can you pls. guide her on the way to Sentosa whereabouts as she has never been to the new Sentosa Resorts. This is her participating 1st. SHC event and she does not know them.

The reason is on the same day and time I will be joining my support group members for dinner and later to see the Song of the Seas laser show etc…

    With appreciation,
    Steven Chan

  9. Hi Steven,

Noted and I have oredi met Jennie. The large group will be divided into 5 or 6 group with a shepherd, so no worries about lost sheep!

This is to inform that the monorail rate is $3.50 up from $3.00. On the way back to St James Power House for dinner, the journey can be to walk or take the travellator if you want to.

3 more days to go, see you folks!

    Dan

  10. Hi Dan,

    Regards, LydiaChin.

  12. Hi Dan,
I am sorry too. Last minute I got an urgent appointment and assignment from my office. Will catch up with you some other time. Do enjoy yourself. Cheers and warmest regards…

  13. Hi Dan

Many thanks for organising the trip to Sentosa for us today.

It was indeed enjoyable and memorable. There was good fellowship among the friends present.

We had a cool, smooth and fast ride from Singapore to Sentosa via the monorail – all for the cheap price of $3.50.

We visited the Palawan Beach and had snacks at the cafe by the beach. Then, some of us took the chair-lift and luge. I like the chair-lift ride most of all as it gives a panoramic view of a section of the island. Then, we had dinner at the Malaysian Food Court – the food was authentic Malaysian food and was very reasonably priced.

Finally, we took the board walk back to Singapore. At the midpoint of this walk, we stopped to watch the magnificent crane show which culminated in a beautiful display of fireworks!

A late afternoon/night well spent for all of us.

This would not have been possible if you and your co-EO, BL had not the time and effort to organise for us.

    Cheerssssssssssssssss
    Gabriella

  14. Hi Dan,

Did anyone get lost and cry? Luckily all of us have grown up. Salute to you taking the challenge of leading such big group in this crowded Sentosa. Hope you sleep well. Annie and me wish to thank you for giving us the opportunity to catch up with those we know and meeting new friends. Glad i found my long lost brother T.K.Pow with his sweet wife. :)

    Stay Healthy! Be Happy! :)

  15. Hi Dan and Boon Liang,

Just want to say Thanks to you for organising the Sentosa Tour.

Like many others, I wouldn’t have known that Sentosa or Resort World has so much for visitors to see and enjoy. The “child” in each of us came alive last evening when we merrily posed, sitting on the 3 wheel cart or on the lorry. The amusement activities cost a bit but those who paid for the rides said that they enjoyed the experience.

I had a bowl of Hokkien Mee at the M’sian Food St.That bowl of h/mee was exactly what the Hawkers of yester year prepared for us when we were children.Only 1 ingredient was missed out in the bowl of noodles- a little bit of kangkong.

The Board Walk was definitely a good way to end the evening, while the lights and fire work display made the evening so memorable.Singapore is truly so beautiful by night esp at this Bay.

Look fwd to more of such excursions. Thank you again.
    Good nite.

    Geok Suan.

  16. Hi Dan and Boon Liang
Thanks for organising this event. Exploring sentosa had stirred up nostalgic memories of me and buddies’ time spent there on numerous occasions in the 70’s and 80’s. Back then, Sentosa was so quiet and peaceful when vehicles and visitors were few. I remembered we used to swim & play at the beach or cycle around the island for the whole day and got ourselves tanned. Good job, Dan and Boon Liang. Thank you again.

    Lam HT and
    Bee gek

  18. Hi King Seng and all photographers

Thanks for uploading the photos here for our viewing.

    Appreciate all your efforts.

    With a grateful heart,
    Gabriella

  19. Hi Dan, King Seng, and all photographers,

The pictures taken during the “Exploring Sentosa” on Aug 25 are really beautiful. So many young SHCians, I could imagine how everybody felt. I can only say, dont be shy, it’s good to feel young and romantic. And, Dan has made it possible for everybody to see Sentosa. I hope everybody will develop a closer relationship and make our SilverHairs years more meaningful and cheerful.

I hope you like the picture banner. Wonder who took this pix?

    Terence Seah

  20. Hi Terence,

The pix was taken by me.

Next on the calendar is the Silverhairs Family Retreat and Mahjong Competition cum Karoeke which is under gestation!

    Dan
