Gathering specially for retirees and semi-retirees, Thu 13 Sep 2012

Dan Huang and Robert Ong have been organising the Westerlies and Easterlies for retirees or semi-retirees for some time now.  Now, let’s have one gathering for retirees and semi-retirees in the Central CBD area. I have quite a number of lunch vouchers as well as coffee/tea vouchers which can be used at the Robinson Road, MPH cafe at 63 Robinson Road.

I would like to meet up with you; this would be a good opportunity for SHC members to interact with other SilverHairs who are coming too.  Working members may also register to come if you are available.  If this is successful, we might try to encourage more of these events.

Date:  Thu 13 Sep 2012

Time:  1430 to 1630 hrs.  We finish at 1630 hrs sharp.

Place:  Robinson Road, MPH cafe, 63 Robinson Road, nearest Tanjong Pagar or Raffles place MRT. 

Dress code:  Proper.

Charge:  Only members who register here personally would be given a late lunch or coffee/tea voucher on the actual day. Please indicate if you prefer a lunch or cofee/tea set voucher.

Strictly for SHC members only.  Those who have not registered here can buy their drinks or meals at the counter.

Requirement:  All members must bring their own name tag.  You can make one yourself.  Click here.

    This cafe is a bit small, not sure if it can sit up to
    50 pax, not forgetting there are other customers too.

  9. hi Terence, would love to join to meet all of you friends. Lunch voucher would be preferred. Wonder if this small cafe can take all 50 pax (not including walk-in patrons)? I used to pass by when I was working in nearby banks, unless it’s expanded?

    I can only be there after 6.30 pm. I looked at the October calendar instead. Am working on that day. Guessed all my friends will have left by then. Will try to join U on your next gathering. Have to skip this time.

    Dun know whether Rosemary chicken is on the menu. If need be I will bring the recipe and come over to cook it. Hope all the ingredients are available.

    I have a fruitful experience working at the Bra during that short duration, the tough part was removing the skin, eek!

    I’ll be there as usual, and I need a late lunch voucher. Thank you very much in advance.

    To the best of my knowledge and belief, so far I have not missed any SHC get-together at the MPH Cafe since the social appointment was first fixed as a regular feature for the foreseeable future. Of course if I fall sick, that is a different story altogether.

    I have not met up with Ron and Alice for a long time. In fact, it was Ron who introduced me to SHC. So I am really looking forward to meet up with Ron and Alice, and also all the others who have signed up.

  31. What I meant is this is not a cooking session as suggested by Dan. I have asked the owners to prepare a set sambal fish or chicken. I don’t mean we can choose or cook there.

  36. The gathering yesterday was very encouraging. First time, I see so many retirees. This gives me more encouragement to organise more retirees activities.

    But lo and behold! Almost full was the house
    before opening time! How come?

    Was the lure the amiable host
    and/or the complimentary lunches?
    Nevertheless, into some bags disappeared
    the spare, still valid food vouchers! :)

    Now the attendees all looked 10 years younger!

    (What’s his anti-aging secret recipe?),
    And Pris, a stunning Cleopatra!
