“Planning a holiday to Myanmar” on Skype by William Chew, Fri 14 Sep 2012

Some of you may be planning a holiday to Myanmar.  We hear Myanmar has Jade markets, beautiful Mandalay, ice caps in the North, hot springs, a long coast line and many temples.  The country has just open, and you can now hear from William Chew, who has resided in Myanmar for more than 20 years.

William is one of the co-founders of the SilverHairsClub.  There are many Singaporeans who have lived in Myanmar and they enjoy the quiet lifestyle of one of the last countries to be open to the world.  You are invited to listen to him on Skype, ask questions and get to know from him first hand, what it is like to live in the country.  William will be in Yangon at the time of this Skype session.

  3. Does not look like many people interested in Myanmar as a holiday place. Well, not too late, if you like to join in tonight, squeeze in and put swift_squirrel on your account.

    See you tonight.

  4. Re-posting the below here:

    Hello Terence,

Hahaha…no lah. Just trying to help out (cycling) only.

Ya, I did downloaded the Skype software etc. Then when trying to register, I can’t think of an appropriate Nick for the Skype address ….after a while I also realised that I don’t have a “Mic” for my PC, only have Speakers.

So, even if I register, have a Skype Nick name etc…can only join in and listen (only) … can’t converse…hahahaha.

Ya, I know – then you say; WHY not use your smartphone, iPhone etc??? Cos me still a newbie to Skype and want to know what they do with my data/contacts or addresses once I run the Skype software….security is a conscious issue for me leh!

  5. Dear all,
I may have to work late today and thus may miss the Skype session this evening but I will try to rush home before 9pm. May I log in if I am late by 30 mins?
    Regards, winnie
