SHC December monthly gathering at Hans Cafe, Wed Dec 12, 2012

Dear Members,

The next monthly gathering organised by the SHC Committee is scheduled as follows:

  • Date : Wednesday, 25 September, 2013
  • Time : 1630 to 2030 hrs
  • Venue : Hans Cafe – Great Eastern Bldg, Upp. Pickering St.
  • Charges : Free.  You are free to buy your own F&B at the counter
  • Please bring along your name tag.  If you don’t have one, we will give you a stick-on label
  • Registration required.  Strictly for SHC registered members only
  • Strictly no politics, sex, race, religion, direct selling or MLM

The aim of the monthly gathering is to enable social networking among SHCians for new and old Silverhairs to meet one another for chits, suggestions for any activities and/or what kind of activities that you hope to have – We can discuss there.  We need many ideas and or contributions from everyone to make this club more vibrant…..

Geraldine and Lily will be there at 4.30pm to welcome those early birds while Caroline and Dolly will be there after 6.30pm onwards.

    Lazy for one whole year, must come to support the last monthly meeting of 2012.

    I fully support. It’s Dec and most of us may not meet again till next year so we should bring some Christmas cheers and atmosphere to the gathering.

    If everyone come dressed in Christmasy colours, hats and gift exchange, we will be able to have our very own Christmas celebration amongst friends old and new. How’s dat? Wanna?

    I am truly surprised, maybe excited that you have volunteered to be the SHC Dec monthly gathering EO. I can feel that you have generated load of interests and participation in this get-together. My guess is you have also gathered a lot of support from fellow members, judging from what I have read in this Post.

    Dec being the last month of the year is ideally suited to bring out the best of memories for the year. Every monthly gathering brings members together closer.

    As I wont be able to join you, I am sure I will feel the vibrance of balloons, gifts-exchange and Christmas carols. Well done for generating this impressive gathering and support.

    Lily, your kind contribution of the fruit cakes is much appreciated but bear in mind we are using a food outlet. They allowed us to enjoy using their aircon premises free of charge so that we may order foods and drinks from them.

    As a precaution check whether permission is needed.

    Excuse me…Hans Restaurant is a public restaurant and my grandson will not step into the SHC Zone.. there are members of the public who dine there even though SHC members always get a section at the back blocked off. Anyway, anyone can bring any family or friends as long as they too, don’t step into the SHC Zone….:p

    No rules have been bent. Its a matter of adjusting to meet the requirements.

    Although I am away from Singapore, and wont be back until end Jan, I am indeed please to read all the chatting about the Dec monthly gathering at HANS, organised by Jane. This is what SHC is all about, chat and, not only will you know others, but many others will get to know you. This is how we can make new friends and keep the ones we can mix with.

    It’s always the spirit and the season too. Do you know who is Jane Tan? Have you met her? One way to see what Jane Tan looks like is to look at the old photos. Can someone who knows Jane point us to an old photo which has been resident in our website?

    This is defintely the last SHC monthly gathering of the year. I hope many of you who have never attended a monthly gathering to come. Why? We will be closing SHC membership on 31 Dec 2012. New membership rules will be implemented. One of the new rules will be “if you have never visited SilverHairsClub.com”, never made a post or a comment, or your email address is incorrect, your membership will lapse, and you will have to re-apply with new rules.

    I wish everybody a great event at Hans, the monthly gathering as well as Christmas get-together. Thanks Jane for make this event happening.

    Get an ang pow packet and put in $5.05! If you cannot turn up because your customer turned up… you get to keep the $5.05. And not get landed up with something I’m sure will be less than useful.

    In most of the SHC monthly gathering , I always observed that members tend to click to their own group and the new members don hv a chance to know all the members in this meeting – some are too shy to approach the other member to chat .

    Dolly / Lily / Sue Chan & the EO were always the few to go round saying Hello to the old & New members.

    Since Jane is the EO today , I add alittle spark to this meeting.

    I have prepared 5-6 color beads and everyone will hv to pick a color and go to the group to chat for at least 15 min . Jane u hv to appoint a more chatty/friendly leader to each group (also the early arrival).

    This will let the old & new member have a chance to chat/know each other and at least the new or shy members to have a chance to interact with other members.

    Jane – Is that OK with u ??? The leader have to collect all the beads and return to me hor.

    Just a suggestion .

    Eileen – I am bringing my Twin sister along for this gathering.

    The suggestion about the beads sounds good…

    Mine’s the green bead… Oh dear, there’re only guys with green beads… maybe I should switch…

    At the end of 15 minutes, blow the whistle and everybody change beads and re-group again into your colours…

    Wiat a minute, I’m getting mixed up… That was my suggestion for seats on the MRT… after 15 minutes, the guard will blow his whistle and those seated will get up to make space for those standing…

    Now, what’s this on the beads…?
