Trip to India, by Kaushal

This is a follow-up to the gathering at Kaushal’s place on Jan 4.  With regards to India Trip in Feb/March 2007, it is a simple & easy going trip organised by me as I have a farm house (FH) in Hyderabad (HYD). From Hyderabad, the members can visit to nearby places by 2 or 3 Tier AC trains & buses/cars. One can stay in farm house as long one wants. India is a big country with lots of historical and relegious places of interest, which one can not see all in one visit as the objective is to relax with some sight seeing.

The following is tentative itinerary for the trip:

  • Arrive Hyderabad from Singapore by SQ.
  • Stay at the farm with the lodging & boarding provided.
  • Visit places of interest in HYD.
  • After HYD, depart for Bhopal, Jabalpur, Varanashi, Lucknow, Agra, Gwaliar & back to Hyderabad.

Accomodation: 3 star hotel outside HYD.
Transport: AC trains & buses/cars.
Depart HYD for Singapore.

A local person will make all the arrangement and be with us throughout the trip outside HYD.
Duration: 2 weeks to 1 month.
Cost: Actual on ‘No Profit & No Loss’ basis. A general Expense Account will be given at the end of the trip.

    Is this an adventure trip with all its surprises or is the itinenary a relatively trodden route for travellers.
    Can I have some idea of estimated costs per day and are there any health hazards, language problem?
    Sorry, ….never been to India before.

    Sorry for late reply. The cost of boarding and lodging (3Star)per day in India could vary from S$60.00 to S$100.00. If you buy ‘Indian Rail Pass’, it cost SS$320.00 for 3 weeks for travel by AC Train. One has to take precaution with drinking water otherwise there are no health hazard. Bottled water will be provided to be on safe side. As a local guide will be provided, so there will be no language problems. Pls. feel free to contact me at kksrivastava@hotmail.com for more info.

    The cost of boarding and lodging (3Star)per day in India could vary from S$60.00 to S$100.00. It also includes local travel & sight seeing. It is difficult to give an accurate cost however the trip is based on Actual Expenses and on ‘No Profit & No Loss’ basis. A general Expense Account will be given at the end of the trip.

  5. Hello Kaushal. I would like to know more about the retirement village in your hometown. In fact I long to visit India to know more of its culture, people, places of interest,food and history. Also let me know when is the next trip. I am a retiree, mobile, aged 63. Thank you.
