  1. Hi Clara

The song I know to play now is

    1. Green green grass of home, 2. Lemon tree (Peter, Paul and Mary one), 3. Blowing in the wind, 4. 500 Miles, 5. Take me home, country road, 6. Street of London, 7. Yellow bird, 8. I started a joke, 9. Puff, the magic dragon, 10.Your cheating heart.

I will try my best to learn the other songs (I’m trying to find the song and the lyrics, then I can find their chords and how to play)

If possible, I want to add one more song to the poll “Leaving on a jet plane”, Thanks

  2. 1. Green green grass of home…

The old home town looks the same as I step down from the train,
and there to meet me is my Mama and Papa.
Down the road I look and there runs Mary hair of gold and lips like cherries.
It’s good to touch the green, green grass of home.
Yes, they’ll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It’s good to touch the green, green grass of home.
The old house is still standing tho’ the paint is cracked and dry,
and there’s that old oak tree that I used to play on.

Down the lane I walk with my sweet Mary, hair of gold and lips like cherries.
It’s good to touch the green, green grass of home.
Yes, they’ll all come to meet me, arms reaching, smiling sweetly.
It’s good to touch the green, green grass of home.

    [spoken:]

Then I awake and look around me, at four grey wall surround me
and I realize that I was only dreaming.
    For there’s a guard and there’s a sad old padre –
arm in arm we’ll walk at daybreak.
Again I touch the green, green grass of home.
Yes, they’ll all come to see me in the shade of that old oak tree
as they lay me neath the green, green grass of home.

  3. Hi Clara,

Since I can sing all the songs that you had selected, I suggest that all the songs be sung but on separate occasions. As some members may not be familar with the melodies / tunes, please teach them the songs at the gathering. You can start with the songs that the guitarists are able to master or play. Bernie

  4. Hi everybody,

The venue is still not finalised, due to the size of the group. Currently, the Changi Beach club is being considered.

If you have a suggestion for a place to host 40 – 50 people, please let us know. Cheers.

    Terence

  5. Am going to the Changi Beach Club on Tue 29 May at 6pm with Clara and Ronald Wi, to evaluate venue suitability.

If you read this, and like to meet us there, give me a call at 9489-4360. I shall get you some local nasi lemak and a glass of beer.
