Blue Helmet – Business with a Heart

An opportunity appears on the horizon to be operated as a business with links to SHC and her members.

We are looking for people having managerial traits with skills and knowledge in finance, administration and computers to automate as many repetitive processes as possible.  Collectively, interested parties will work together as one Biz Unit – SOHO Team that will work out the business model.  Amongst yourselves, please appoint your business officers and be prepared to stand before the Select Committee to make the marketing pitch to clinch the deal.  We encourage as many teams as possible to come forward.  There is enough business for everyone.

Typical business model will be to run automated finance & administration services to customers who are resident with us in the same office or externally.  There are more that one can do for Company, which wants to outsource their backroom work to reliable third parties like SOHO.

The Biz Unit – SOHO Team will think through the service product, it’s pricing and the operational flow and control needed.

If you do need help, just let KT Wong or Edwin Ong know, and arrangements will be made to have that support provided.  Just post your request here.

* SOHO = Small Office / Home Office

  1. Dear All
I am a new entrant to The Silver Club. My name is Miss Adelaide Chang Shook Leng and is currently 57 years old. I received my BSc (Hotel Administration) and MEd (Man Environment Relations) from The Pennsylvania State University, USA.

I have about 35 years’ experiences in Human Capital Management and Human Capital Development within and outside Singapore. I am self-employed and am interested in what The Blue Helmet Group is doing.

Besides Training and Development,I like to study about Health Improvement and Wealth Management. I am trying to find out more about The Retirement Village Concept and perhaps some of you can share information with me on this matter.

    Best regards,

    Shook Leng

  2. Dear Shook Leng

Currently a ProTemp Committee is reviewing the business potential to retrain and prepare Singapore Seniors to enter the job market or extend their work apportunity beyond the mandatory retirement age. This business prospect is likely to turn into a Social Enterprise. We are currently looking for someone to take on the role of working out the financial compilation of the Business Plan to accompany our application for government funding. If you know of suitable individual or even you yourself are interested, we certainly will welcome the individual to volunteer on this role first on the pro-bono basis and later be considered to be on a permanent remuneration basis on a “willing employer-and-employee basis” when all relevant parties’ expectations are met.

    Regards……………Edwin

  3. Adelaide,

Let’s slot your interests into SHC activity domains
Training and Development – Add job recruitment and you get Blue Helmet. Edwin has aptly described the objective of this Social Enterprise. This is not a charity. It is a commercial enterprise funded by a government grant. We need people right now who can create the financial budgets and projections for the business plan.

Health Improvement – join our sports activities. from line dancing to beer drinking.

Wealth Management – Join our SHC Investment Clubs. Autotrading forex and equities.

Retirement Village – Join this Tues JB day trip. Met at Kembangan MRT at 9.30 am. This is also our field study tour for the JB RV and junckets. For financial independence join our debate on annuities.

would you tell me more of this project?

I have degree in Electronics Engr & worked in Operations, Technical & Project Management. I also did Sales & Marketing but that isnt my current interest. I can send you a CV if you like.

My career is probably evenly divided between electronics & IT with the latter half in IT. I just came off 2 programming assignments using C & Java (Note: I’m not really a programmer. I dont mind doing it & can do it but younger guys can prob do it faster/cheaper.)

  5. Dear Andrew Thio

This is a very old post ( more than 1 year ago ). The project have been put on hold indefinitely. Should the project revive, you and any others who have registered here, will be notified accordingly.

    Thank you for your interest.
