We have seen keen interests in SilverHairs participating in the SilverHairsClub website forum. At the same time, the SilverHairsClub membership is expanding. To participate in discussion on this website, SHC members need to register separately on the website.
We are looking for 2 SHC Website Membership Administrators, with the following loves.

Loves meeting new SilverHairs via email and in person at gatherings.

Has at least 30 minutes to spare each day on the SHC website.

Friendly, and can show a smile in an email, even though you may wish to knock that someone on the head with your shoe.

Has attended at least 2 monthly club gatherings.

Currently, not holding any SilverHairsClub positions.

Ensure confidentiality of database.

Two persons to manage Last name A-M and the other N-Z.

Term: till end 2008.
The tasks:

To welcome newly registered members to the website forum.

To ensure that new members fill in the first and last name and a proper nickname. This proper nickname appears on all Posts and Comments.

To manage passwords, for members who have lost their passwords.
-
To promote authority levels, as members meet the club’s discussion criteria.

No responsibility for forum content in SHC website.

Would like this job, except my computer skill is practically nil.
Just my thoughts to add to LH Jie’s comments. Managing any database is no simple job. You really need the skills as confidential information cant and shouldnt be shared even with your closest ones. There must be a clear line drawn between personal and official work. If you have a keen interest you must be ready to face the challenge. Definitely no turning back once its assigned to you.

I would like to applied for the post, among all the conditions listed, I consider I can fulfill all except:

This is also one of my reasons to applied for the post.
The reasons I want the post are:
1) I take many from SHC (especial this year) and I want to give back a little.
2) To overcome my drawbacks: lazy, idiot in remember names (place name, person name, etc), and afraid of meeting and talking to new people.
My merits to this post are
1)Although I’m lazy, but, whenever I promise to do something, I’ll try very hard to achieve it (as I say, I’m a good seconder. This time, I want to try to lead).
2) I’ve some knowledge on PC, PC applications, database (e.g its construction, its language etc). I consider this will be useful to the post.
3) I’ve some good friends (e.g. Yew Kwong, Lily, Dolly etc, etc) who will help me whenever I encounter any problem of the post (sorry guy and gal, haven’t ask you first to mention your names)

I felt gd that after my some urging words, 3 members raised their hands. Gd response n now Terence has to shortlist the likely 2 candidates for the job.

Lily, I wld suggest that u dont withdraw from the assigned bluehelmet thing otherwise Terence got to scratch n pull his hairs to find another replacement. We know its pretty tough on him hor. If it goes on like that Terence will go bald before he sees end of 2008.

If Lily is out of the race, Andrew “Y” will look after last names N-Z n Rene “L” will take A-M. Just my analysis.
Ultimately, its still Terence’s final decision that rules.
I had written to Terence after I saw comment 7 to clarify one of the tasks. Now I see Rene and Andrew are also interested. So Yew Kwong, your urging words got not 3 but 4 applicants.
Glad many are raising their hands n is still counting. Its not just only “do n enjoy” spirit in us but also “care to do” as SHC becomes our 2nd home.

Hi everybody,
Oi Cheng and LH Jie have been our new members administration since the middle of 2007. They have done a great job, always alert to saying hello to new members, when they join the SHC forum. Our SHC forum is not perfect, but I guess it serves its purpose.
The system has been upgraded a few months ago, and I would like to have a change. Jie is retiring from this role; and Cheng will move on to a new role. From all the new members to this forum, a thank you to Jie and Cheng.
I would like to look for one new volunteer who would like to take up the role of New Members administrator to this forum. Training would be provided. If no one volunteers, I shall continue to do so, in this capacity.

At your comment pg, pls. click VISIT SITE. At that pg, find for the Search SilverHairsClub box.Type in key words like IT for IT courses , BBQ , ANNAS, Cha Bor ,etc….and click Search again.
When you arrived at that page,SCROLL down to search for yr selected titled post. and click the comments again to reply.
In this way, I need NOT search for the ENTIRE forum which is far too tedious a process. And a LOT of time wasted to sieve thru the numerous no.of posts.
