Blue Helmet

Blue Helmet aim to provide income opportunities for SilverHairs.

Blue Helmet aims to establish SilverHairsClub as a group of experienced people, over 45, who have either retired or not working fulltime.

  • Blue Helmet’s objective is to provide opportunities for retired SilverHairs who would like to continue working, full-time, part-time or contract, locally or overseas, after full time employment.
  • Blue Helmet’s core focus would be companies and organisations which place priorities and emphasis on skills, experience and knowledge, over youth, low salaries and outsourcing advantages.
  • Blue Helmet encourages entrepreneurship and small business which can bring reasonable income to the individual, after retirement.

We will start slow, and build Blue Helmet into a common name, where companies and organisations can find experienced personnel to kickstart new projects, new businesses and train new employees.  Bue Helmet offers companies the opportunity to benefit from retired SilverHairs who have built years of experience and knowledge.

Job opportunities, clearly targetting the senior over 45, can be posted, under the "Blue Helmet" category.  SilverHairsClub members with contacts for overseas assignments, new projects, start-up companies, training and educational positions can enter the opportunities as a comment.  As a rule, these opportunities should be in line with the skills, experience and knowledge, acquired by the individual over many years.

Rules of the club will continue to apply.  Blue Helmet - strictly for SilverHairsClub members only.

Hi, I am looking for retired Pre-school techers (2 nos.) for 1 to 3 months period for a proposed rural school, a non-profit organisation at Bahadurguda village, 30 km. outside Hyderabad, India. Free boarding and lodging will be provided. If interested, pls. email me at kksrivastava@hotmail.com for more info.

  2. Terence Seah Says:

    Hi Kaushal,

Had wanted to ask you for some time, didn’t get to, but here’s it. Would you know if Singaporeans taking up such assignments need to have a valid work permit.

I planned to come to hyderabad within the next two months, so like to have a look at the school.

Next year, I am looking forward to come to Hyderabad again and also to Kerala.

So any tips on the work permit would be great.

Job and travel opportunities for SilverHairs in India are great initiatives in a fast growing economy.

Can you also give some idea on the food and lodging in this school?

    Hi Florence,

I am Celia. I like to enquire if you also do zipps for handbags. Many thanks. I do not have your email address. Mine is Celia.Wong@hotmail.com. Once again, thanks so much for your advice. cheers.

  5. Florence Ho Says:

Good morning Celia: thank goodness for the latest from Terence’s “Blue Helment” that I just saw your question.
For handbag zips, it needs a special (commercial type) sewing machine. The needles & threads used are heavy-duty type, and so are the stitches. I’ll email you an address or two where you can get this service.
Sorry again for this late reply. Have a good day,
    Florence
