Veronica Wong – Profile

I cannot be a leader as I do not drive these days, but I can help out when your club gets going.  I have only 4 more years to retirement.  I am Singapore based, still working but not on Sat.

1. An online Forum for discussion after each event may be useful to gather feedback.
2. I suggest an outdoor outing for a start to see your response.  A walk to MacRitchie Tree top.  Not much organization.  Interested parties just meet at a spot at MacRitchie at a predetermined time and after the walk, interested parties adjourned to a lunch.

The other is a Sungei Buloh walk. Healthy lifestyle and these activities give participants ample time to get to know each other.

3. I do not know ballroom dancing altho’ I go dancing often when I was young.  Good to have a half a year/one year for beginners, then have a once a month dance session.

Also when you have a function, you can be sure there is a group who gives life to your party.  Ideas will come when your club gets going.

  1. Hi Veronica,
Thank you for your sharing, I’m not a leader too, but everyone of us is a leader at home, don’t you agreed, so just transfer it from home to SHC andyou will be there.

Leader do not have to drive although it make easier in transportation, but believe in our groups, many drive and they will be please ot give you a lift in needed, just ask.

I do not drive too since I deregisteret in 2004. More so now that my office is in Fullerton road, where cost and place of parking is eminent.

Your suggestion with online forum is good and that is what we are doing presently, we need more feed back.

Re: Outdoor activities and MacRitcgie Tree Top
I do not know that there is a tree top in MacRitchie? Wah! Love to join you, but for me, Sunday is out! Saturday and public holidays will be good, I’m open to any week days as well as long as there is no appointment or company meeting, ha ha.

    Re: Sungei Buloh walk
I heard many interesting story about this place, love ot go but always the day was pre-engage with oterh activities, let me know and will tyr to join.

    Re: Ballroom dancing
Love to take up, do not know about this but willing to learn, do you know a place where they teach for a free or inexpensively so many SHC members can take up! Let me know this too!
Yes! very useful in function especially the graciousful movement in this.

  2. Hi Veronica, ah the tree-top at MacRitchie. It has to be done early in the morning for the fresh air. I missed out on one trip earlier this year with my girlfriend.

Sugei Buloh is one place I have been longing to go but without transport and now with shift work, it would be even more difficult. But as I always say, there will be a day…

I love dancing too, but can’t nowadays because I have no dancing partners… any dancing volunteers?? It would definitely be fun, believe me, trying not to step on each other’s feet…ha ha ha

  3. Hi Veronica,

    V. sorry. I had mistaken you as a Japanese resident at Villa Marina

Nice to meet you at the tea party.
and I know exactly how you felt when your dog of 17yrs. died at old age.

It was wise of you to put him to sleep rather than to see him suffering in pain and misery.
My old dog of 12yrs. , a Dalmatian too died of old age and i can remember I could nOT eat or sleep peacefully for a few days whe I was a teenager.

Dogs are like part of the family too and they are always loyal to their masters/mistresses.

I felt very DISGUSTED and ANGRY when I saw some owners ill treating their dogs by tying them the whole day and night whether rain or shine without much shelter at the one end of the garage. if only the owner was tied there, then he will feel exactly how the dog has suffer in misery.

    Best regards,
    Steven Chan
