Decorative Magnets on Refrigerators …are they a health hazard?

Decorative Magnets on Refrigerators

A number of researchers at Princeton’s University have discovered
something scary!.

For several months, they were feeding two groups of mice: the first
group with food kept in a refrigerator, and the second group with food kept in a
refrigerator as well but with several decorative magnets on the door.

The objective of this experiment was to see how electromagnetic
radiation (that coming out from the decorative magnets on the door)
affect food items. Amazingly, rigorous clinical studies stated that
the group of mice that consumed the “radiated” food had as much as 87

% higher probability to get cancer than the other group of mice.

Inexplicably no Governments or health associations/institutions have

given any statement on this regard. However and just in case, is
recommendable  to remove any decorative magnet from  refrigerators,
and put it far away from any food.

Kindly pass this information to your contacts. I guess this is not proven. Any thoughts from any experts out there?

  1. Hi Andrew #1

Thank you v much for advising that the ‘warning’ is indeed a hoax!

I have a number of such magnets which I collected from my overseas travelling. I am rather reluctant to part with them… haha.

  2. we hv to verify everything taken from the internet. Anyone can write nonsense in a convincing way. False web pages can be setup by ppl good in computers. So, unless it is from a official or reliable source, don’t be gullible.
We hv magnets on my fridge for more tham 30 yrs and still healthy,so what rubbish about health hazard?

  3. I got this article via email and I never even bothered to read it. Our earth is one mammoth magnetic field so to say magnets are hazardous is a joke right?

  4. Hahaha!!

I can vouch that having too many fridge magnets can be hazardous to your health!

My maid opened the door of my fridge which is heavily weighed down with fridge magnets and… the door fell off onto her!!

You should hear the screams and shouts for help!!

  5. ELECTROMAGNET, as the name implies, requires an electric current to pass through a metal to make it a magnet. A magnet by itself is but a magnet – no electro so no current. Magnetic field is harmless. Otherwise, teachers using magnetic white boards need protective gowns. The earth is a huge magnet.

But Kenneth has a point. After some time, the magnet loses its magnetic properties and it may fall on your leg. That can be hazardous.
