SHC D&D – June 30, 2012

Hi All members,

This year’s D&D will be organised by the SHC Braddell Hill Dance Group (BH in short) on June 30, 2012.  Pease log into your calendar this date not to be missed.  As we are in the planning process, the BH group would like your views with regards to theme, venue and cost?

Please feel free to post comments, if you have the following to share with us:

  1. Venue ? Preferably near to some MRT or convenient for public transport
  2. Cost : We are looking at $40 – $45/pax inclusive of dinner, if you are able to provide cheaper source, we would be glad to reconsider.
  3. Theme? – Pls give us some idea on this

Any info given to us would definitely be a great help to us for planning… so we would like to hear from you ….

Cheers… Dolly

  1. Hi Dolly

  3. H Geraldine,
BH stands for Braddel Heights which is the place that we are having our dance lessons under the coaching of Daniel Ong at no charge except we pay for the rental of aerobic room only.

    Hi Janet,
Thanks for the offer, however, we are looking for a plc to at least house around 100paxs. Nevertheless, we will keep in mind of your gracious offer. BTW, where is the location of your condo?

    Cheers.. Dolly

  4. Dear All,

I have join SHC and never attended anything so far and have yet to meet Terence. Once I went to Bishan to attend a localized meet but could not find the venue. Thus I am looking forward to attend the D&D – preferably on Sat nites.

    Regards

  6. Suggestion: Theme for the D&D ‘Asian Nite’
    Dress code: Smart casual
    Dinner: pot luck buffet
Cost: $5 to $10/pax. Those who bring food comes free. If you wish to pay, most welcome
Stage singers: SHC singers can sing Thai, Koreans, Japanese etc
    Games with gifts
    Dancing: social/line
Fashion show by those who dress up in different costumes.
    Venue: Central

These are my suggestions, do consider, no obligation.

  7. Hi Janet,
Thanks for the info. However, we would prefer to end the D&D around 11.30pm or 12mn since this will held on Sat nite. Nevertheless, will take note of your offer since this condo is very near to Simei MRT. Perhaps, a monthly gathering can be held there.

    Hi Josie,
Thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated. Will liaise with committee on this. But I personally would prefer a nice place preferably some hotel or club ballrooms for this kind of occasion with adequate facilities/systems for use, less headaches. Of cos, this kind of environment definitely come with a higher price tag, rite?

    Cheers… Dolly

  8. Hi Dolly,
Doesn’t look as if as if a suitable place has been found for DnD.
But if you are interested, I can try to get the S’pore Recreation Club (SRC). It’s centrally located
Food – International , Oreintal, BBQ Buffet. Cost range from $28.00 to $42.00.
    Capacity – About 100.
Please contact me for more details/discussion.

  9. Hi Richard,
Sorry for the late reply as I had been very busy and thank you for the kind intention of recommending SRC.

However, during our last SHC round table meeting, a few of us, inclusive of Geraldine had viewed the venue, Lounge 1883 and concluded that it is not possible for them to have 10paxs/table for dinner for at least 100paxs. Thus, leaving very limited space for other activities. Moreover, some areas were totally being blocked by pillar whereby members seated there cant watch activities from their end – in this instance, more headaches will surface. Hence, in view of more cons than pros, we decided not to pursue this further.

FYI, some other members did propose SRC to us before.

    Cheers.. Dolly
