Changes to new membership acceptance wef 1 July 2012

Here are some changes to new membership acceptance wef 1 July 2012.

1.  New memberships:

Other than current information required in the application form, new applicants are required to also register an username and for a password to enter SilverHairsClub.com before membership acceptance.

Processing of new memberships will now be done during the first 7 days of each month.

2.  Current memberships:

All current members are required to have an username and password to enter SilverHairsClub.com to keep their membership.  To ensure the membership stays active, the email address should be the same as given to the Club.

There are no other changes to membership acceptance.

  1. Hi Terence

    Ref: above.

I’ve given my email address to you. However, what username and password to you require to keep our membership? Wd appreciate if you could elaborate on this.

    TQ & Cheersssssssss,
    Gabriella Chua

  2. Hi Gabriella,

If you can log in, it means you have an username and password to access SilverHairsClub.com.

Those who cannot log in, means either the username or password is incorrect.

  3. Hi Terence

Lina Tan is a long time member of SHC, she lost her password and cannot login to do comment and register for some event. What should she do to get a new password. Please enlighten, thanks.

  4. Hi Boss,

I very very curious. It seem that there are alway members who have poor memory and alway forget about the log-in details and need to reset the passwords. You alway like to request them to write to admin with the registered email address. It seem to me it is a repeat task which can easily manage by having a video tutorial or a write-up (with a short-cut).

Why don’t teach them how to do it themselves? It save your time by teaching them how to fish instead of giving them the fish unless you want to take the opportunity to bond with your forgetful members. :-)

Here are procedures to reset the password:

    (1) Log in (silverhairsclub.com/wp-login.php)
    (2) Just next to Register, click Lost your password?
    (3) Follow the screen instructions and input your Username or E-mail to resend the password.
    (4) You will then receive an email from <wordpress at silverhairclub dot com). Following the instructions in the message and click the hyperlink to reset your password.

  5. Hi Steven #7,

Thank you for putting up the procedures for getting a new password. What actually happens is when the member writes to Admin, we are able to determine if the person is a member or otherwise. We will then still advise the member to reset the password, by using the procedures you have written.

Oh, by the way, please call me Terence. I appreciate it this way. Thank you.

  6. Hi Boss,

It’s a norm to call a website/blog owner as a boss. I have frequented numerous sites where they are being addressed as such. Some of them even have their contact address as boss at myblogdotcom. However if you are not comfortable then I will address your angmo name in future.

I wonder whether you will consider asking your guys to make some adjustment/amendments to wp-login.php by incorporating your membership application details into the blog registration form. This will truly make your “current membership registration is easy and requires very little administration”. Potential members can register themselves 24/7 without human intervention.

This will relieve you of the need to manually verify whether the person is a member or not. Once he or she input the username or email address the system will recognise whether he or she is a legitimate member. If not, he or she should be redirected to the registration form again.

Registration is a formality. There is no way to stop crooks if they intend to be your members. Any way what can they benefit financially as a member?

We are already in our final stage of our journey and I am sure old men and women like us (we are DEFINITELY not young boys or gals) are definitely worldly wise to take care of ourselves or else we really live our life in vain.

We really don’t need another big boss to worry about us.

  7. New membership applications and changes in manual changes of passwords will be processed and approved with the 1st 7 days of each month, effective 1st July 2012.

If you or your friends have any difficulties with your passwords or membership, please make effort to do so before end of this month.

  8. There has been many people from somewhere in the world, trying to log into our SHC system, with the intention of signing on as a member, and then writing in to solicit sex, promotions and internet marketing.

For the moment, online membership registration has been put on hold until further notices. If your friends wish to join as a member, they are requested to write to admin@silverhairsclub.com.
