Lily Wong – Profile

I am a Singaporean of age 54. I am still working but may be retiring soon.  Agree that we should make more friends, make our lives more meaningful and enjoy our silver age.

My interest is in cooking, baking, hiking and travelling. I have recently completed a certificate baking course at Baking Industry Training Centre and may be able to contribute in this area.

  1. Hi Lily,
I am a new member, Singaporean Chinese man, aged 60yrs, still working, but may retire any time soon. My hobbies are hiking, travelling, outdoor activities, making friends, and looking up good foods to eat. Maybe I should try some of the foods that you cook. Please let me know if you are getting a group of friends to sample your cooking. We shall share the costs involved.
    Many thanks..from..sigyam .

  2. Shirley,

We lack someone to take a lead in organising cooking and baking sessions.

Don’t have to be a pro, but someone who would meet others with similar interests.

    You interested?

  3. Hi Lily,

I am 56, obtained my Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London in 2003 and quit my job last August from a statutory board, partly because of my mum’s bad eyesight and weak heart. Her heart is getting stronger.

I have not had the chance to meet up with anyone within the SHC yet. However I enjoy travelling and am very keen to learn baking, and perhaps those of us keen on travelling can also meet up.

One of the social works I am currently involve in is bringing old cloths, toys, etc for an orphanage in Hue/Vietnam; as well as helping to raise funds for an almost blind Vietnamese lady to have a lens implanted on her left eye.

    Kind Regards

  4. Hi Lily,

I am interested in baking. Would like to learn some skill from you? Are you interested to teach SHC members? BTW how do you go about joining BITC for the course?

  5. Hi Lily

I am a new member. Before I retired I was in the accounting line. Like u I did a baking course at BITC too. Enjoy cooking and baking and travelling too. Maybe we could get together one day and share our recipes.

  6. Yes, of course its gd 2 share. Does the compilation of recipes contributed by members into a book sound a gd idea? Titled “SHC heavy guarded recipes now revealed”.
