Digital Photo Management

My monthly library talk in March will be on “Digital Photo Management”. If response is good, I do also organise a “Photo Walk”.

This year, I will also include how you can edit your photo (using free software) to make a Photo Haiku Poem.

Haiku poems are generally consist of three lines of words with 17 syllabuses to creatively express your love, thinking on nature, life and others.

Details of the talk are as follows:

Time: 3PM to 5PM
Venue: Bukit Merah Library (Nearest MRT, Tiong Bahru). Take bus numbers 5, 16 & 851 to Bukit Merah Bus Interchange and 5 mins walk to venue.
Course fee: No charge

Registration with NLB is required. You can register online if you have NLB Mobile App. Otherwise register in person in any library branch.

NB: I do also conduct online (with WhatsApp) tutorials (free of charge) on Scratch Coding (or programming) – for seniors only. For further clarification, my email is hewlee@gmail.com.

Learn how to Create a Blog (Hands-on)

For those who has a laptop computer and preferably with a smartphone & data plan, wish to learn how to create a blog account and go about publishing topics of your choice, an opportunity has arrived!

A two-days (3-hours each) Creating a Blog Course (hands-on) is organised. Details as follows:

Learn how to Create a Blog (Preview)

A Blog gives you a new way to communicate, to share, to influence, to connect, to outrage, to matter, …

A Blog can be your life journey (A Reflection), your legacy you would like to leave behind. You are the writer, the editor and publisher – all in one. However, whatever you do with your Blog, you are required to conform within the International & Local Laws and Regulations.

If I have interested you, come and see how simple it is to start publishing a Blog in the Internet and it is totally free. No programming or special software required.

All you need is a laptop able to connect to the Internet and some basic knowledge of computing like surfing the Internet and sending/ receiving emails.

Advent Reflections

The approach of X’mas and the New Year is a good time to reflect and soul search. This year has been mostly uneventful, with broken resolutions and a persistent reluctance to move out of my comfort zone. My plate was full and personal interests remained on the back burner.

Next year I hope to see some CHANGES. My plate shall be half full, thus giving me the time to pursue more deeply some personal interests and to build up a momentum for an exercise regime.

As we age, our priorities change and health becomes more important than wealth. Living with less becomes more attractive, hence becoming minimalist is an attractive option for me and I shall give priority to uncluttering next year.    

With these challenges in the offing, I look forward to 2015.  :)
